I love a loveline to go both ways as well, however we can’t always have the same stories, if I may suggest, you can in this case consider to step out of a comfort zone for a drama if you find that it is good overall except that one or two characters are not what you prefer in the first quarter of the drama, dramas have redemption arcs for a reason. The dynamic you like is still a possibility if you want to wait to see more episodes come out before making a final decision. As long as you don’t find the actors themselves repugnant and it is a matter of character they’re playing it can always improve as the plot matures. The FL to me has layers that some viewers may not appreciate at this time but I hope will surprise most later and I am not going by the novel just by the drama itself. I do like a complex character that poses a challenge not just going with the norm be it Female or Male. At the end of the day you know best what you want to watch, I was just interested in your point of view and couldn’t help but nose in with my suggestion

I don’t like the idea of stifling people’s opinions however I can see what you mean on second thought. It seems there’s politics even among drama watchers and some people are trying to promote other dramas or actors by putting down a drama and its actors in various pages. That’s crazy though, watching and enjoying dramas should be organic lol

I’m into the main pairing, ZLH has never been unexceptional in my eyes he really is special for me, and for ZJM this is my first time following a drama of hers avidly I have no complaints. I think both leads are dynamic and the cinematography does them justice

Why not. People can freely evaluate as they want, since when is watching and reviewing a taboo. I like some of the actresses they mentioned but I also know everyone can’t always have the same opinions and can’t cry about reading different opinions as an adult.

And he plays a darker role so well also. “The pain is also a result!” or something like that, lol I still get chills when I think of this line in that scene from Kunning Palace, I never thought of things that way. I guess he also has a talent or luck in picking such a evocative character because Xi Ju’an is written so uniquely! Kudos to SoKP writer 🫶🏻 To be honest I didn’t believe he could play a deliberately comedic role because I bought into his character on SoKP completely, so ZLH in The Princess Royal is a revelation for me. I love the lighter banter and skirmishes a lot

Exactly what I think too, Zhang Ling He has become one to watch for me and his character delivery is often quite nuanced and special
