Failed fantasy historical drama with weak leads
I watched Fangs of Fortune because of the beautiful trailer but sadly it didn’t live up to the hype. The visuals and costumes looked nice but the story felt slow and emotionally flat.
The fight scenes used slow-motion way too much which didn’t feel exciting at all.
Instead, it felt awkward and annoying because the director relied on it too often instead of creating truly epic fights that move the story forward.
I found myself more interested in the side characters than the main couple which made it hard to stay emotionally involved. The drama started with a lot of potential but ended up being a big disappointment.
The male lead, Zhu Yan, he’s supposed to be a powerful, ancient demon but he felt weak and not believable.
Hou Minghao’s acting didn’t bring the character to life.
His expressions were either too flat or over the top and his emotional scenes didn’t convince me. Something about the way he spoke felt forced and unnatural which made watching him difficult.
The crying scenes were especially frustrating, he cried way too much and it never felt real.
It was like he was trying hard to make tears come out but couldn’t, almost like a beginner actor.
Instead of feeling sympathy, those scenes just felt repetitive and tiring.
His chemistry with the female lead didn’t feel real either which made their romance fall flat.
For such an important role, I expected much more emotion and presence.
Honestly, the drama felt like it was pushing BL vibes more than a real romance and I wasn’t even sure what it was trying to show me.
On the bright side, Cheng Lei was one of the few good things about the show.
His performance felt strong and layered and he caught my attention every time he was on screen.
He showed calm strength and real emotion which really stood out compared to the leads.
Even though he had less screen time, he made a much bigger impression.
I honestly wished the story focused more on him. They should have cast a male lead as good as Cheng Lei.

A Fantasy romance carried by charming chemistry
I quite enjoyed Love Between Fairy and Devil for its stunning fantasy world, beautiful costumes and richly detailed settings.
Dylan Wang delivers a strong and charismatic performance as Dongfang Qingcang, blending power with moments of unexpected tenderness. Esther Yu as Xiao Lan Hua, brings a bubbly and sweet energy to her role.
Her overly cutesy acting can be a bit annoying in the early episodes but as the story progresses, it becomes more fitting and even endearing for her character.
One of the highlights of the drama is the great chemistry between the two leads. Their interactions feel natural and heartfelt, making their romance believable and enjoyable to watch. The supporting cast also adds depth and variety, contributing to the overall richness of the story.
However, the drama isn’t without its flaws. The pacing can feel slow especially in the middle episodes, which might make it harder to stay fully engaged. Xiao Lan Hua’s character doesn’t develop as much as expected and some of her emotional scenes lack impact. While Dylan Wang generally acts well, there are moments where his performance feels overly intense or dramatic. His dominant presence sometimes overshadows the female lead creating an imbalance in their dynamic.
Even though the leads have strong chemistry, the romantic development can feel a bit rushed or forced at times, which makes the emotional connection less impactful. Despite these issues, Love Between Fairy and Devil is still an enjoyable watch, especially if you’re a fan of fantasy romance with beautiful visuals and a dreamy, magical atmosphere.

A Perfect Blend of Mystery, Romance and Strong Performances.
It’s one of those dramas that keeps you glued to the screen with its mix of suspense, romance, and deep emotions. From the very beginning, the story grabbed my attention with its unexpected twists and interesting plot developments. Unlike some dramas where the story feels slow or predictable, this one managed to stay exciting and fresh throughout. What made it even better was how it didn’t just focus on the plot but took the time to explore the characters’ feelings, struggles, and growth.
So I was always engaged and cared about what happened next.
One of the biggest highlights for me was Wang Xing Yue as the male lead.
Considering his young age, I was genuinely impressed by how well he handled such a complicated and emotional role.
He showed so much maturity and skill in his acting, making his character feel real and layered.
Whether it was moments of vulnerability, anger, confusion or determination, Wang Xing Yue delivered his emotions with subtlety and honesty.
The female lead was also excellent, bringing strength and sensitivity to her character. Together, their chemistry was natural and powerful which made their relationship believable and moving. The supporting cast did a great job too, adding more dimension and richness to the story.
The production quality was another thing that impressed me, from the beautiful cinematography to the well-chosen soundtrack, everything worked together to create the right mood and atmosphere.
The suspenseful scenes were tense and well-executed, while the romantic moments felt heartfelt and genuine.
Overall, “The Double” is a drama I would highly recommend to anyone who loves a good mix of romance, mystery and strong performances. It’s rare to find a show that balances all these elements so well and the young cast’s talent makes it even more special. If you enjoy stories that keep you guessing while also tugging at your heartstrings, this drama is definitely worth watching.

A good drama worth watching
The fantasy romance drama that completely pulled me in with its heartbreaking love story and beautiful world. It follows Li Susu, who travels back in time to stop Tantai Jin from becoming an evil god but ends up falling in love with him instead.Watching their relationship grow through pain, sacrifice, and fate was both emotional and unforgettable. Tantai Jin isn’t your typical villain, he’s someone who has suffered deeply since he was young and that made me feel so much sympathy for him. The way their love developed across lifetimes really hit me hard and stayed with me even after the drama ended.
The acting, especially from Luo Yunxi was a major highlight.
His expressions were so detailed that I could feel everything Tantai Jin was going through even without words. Bai Lu also gave a solid performance especially in the emotional scenes.
Their chemistry was strong and full of tension and sorrow.
On top of that, the production was absolutely beautiful from the costumes to the music to the fantasy setting. I also really loved the OST, it matched the tone of the story perfectly and added even more feeling to key moments.
I did feel that some parts of the drama could have been better. Some emotional scenes, especially the important ones, felt rushed and didn’t have enough build-up.
I wanted more time to feel the weight of those moments. Also, a few plot points were confusing or left unexplained, especially the rules of the fantasy world and how some things worked. The editing between scenes could be a little jarring too, it sometimes broke the mood. I found the romance a bit repetitive in the later episodes, even though I was still emotionally invested. Anyway, this drama gave me a powerful experience. If you like tragic love stories with beautiful visuals and a deep storyline, Till the End of the Moon is worth watching.

Disappointing, “The Prisoner of Beauty” fails to deliver beyond shallow romance and stale acting
I really tried to enjoy The Prisoner of Beauty, but honestly, it turned out to be one of the most childish drama I’ve watched in a while. The storyline had so much potential at the beginning, but quickly became silly, repetitive, and full of immature conflicts. The plot relied too much on overused tropes like random jealousy, constant bickering, and unrealistic misunderstandings that felt more annoying than entertaining.
The political setup faded into the background and what was left was a shallow romance with forced drama.
A lot of the scenes made no sense and felt more like a fantasy written by teenagers than a well-developed historical drama. I kept watching hoping it would get better but it never did.
As for the cast, the only thing I genuinely liked was the female lead’s beauty, she’s stunning on screen and had a great presence. But even her acting couldn’t save the poor writing.
Liu Yuning as the male lead Wei Shao was a huge letdown. Once again, he plays the same cold, possessive, emotionally stunted character I’ve seen him do too many times before.
His performance felt flat and predictable with little emotional range or growth.
The character was immature, controlling and sometimes his face is unpleasant to watch.
It’s disappointing to see him stuck in this type of role again and again it feels like he’s not even trying to challenge himself at all.
And I’m quite surprised this drama has such a high rating on this site.
