Furritsu-san, I really appreciate your work on this drama's subtitles! Thank you very much! It must be hard work to get all these work-related technical terms right. And they're speaking so fast at times, haha... And I also like your occasional short comments on the upper screen, when you tell us your feelings during a scene. That's exactly what I feel then!
At first I just wanted to take a sneak peek into ep. 1 to see if this drama suits me, and I after just a few minutes I already wanted to drop it because Imada Mio is so overacting and so manic and restless, she made me nervous. But ten minutes in, I had a constant smile on my face, because this is so heartwarming and funny, and as souphater said: It is a cute fairytale set in the modern office world. I like it very much so far!
It seems there are two sub versions of the first episodes: One of Gem Asia which is published by linkinstreet on Subscene (only ep. 01 so far) and one on https://sixtonesarchive.livejournal.com/19355.html by https://twitter.com/hktmtsmr. This is quite confusing. I haven't figured out yet which is the better one.
So an alternative title would be "Value of Elegance"?
Or the other way round. ;-) Could be a pun with the two different readings of 私: "The elegance of high-priced (things)" as well as "My elegance" (Atai/Watashi no elegance).
Honestly? I'm glad that it's over. With each episode I liked it less. I only finished this drama because I already spent so much time on it and I wanted to see the solution of the case. But with each episode the plot twists became more and more ridiculous and the characters became less and less credible. For me, in the end the only credible character was Detective Akutsu Koji. Funny, because he was the one I liked the least in the first place.
What a nice drama! Does anyone know where I can find the Japanese subtitles for this or a transcript of the dialogues? I'm a Japanese learner and would like to improve my listening skills with this drama, but certainly do understand only a small part of it.
Nicely done. A must-watch for everyone who has been to Japan before and had the pleasure of taking a ride with a Shinkansen & eating a delicious Ekiben. Natsukashii.^_^
