You hit the nail with this review. I had the same feelings throughout while watching this. I wouldn't mind revisiting this story if they made a new version in the future with a bit more vision.

What a coincidence lol. I promise that this is an authentic review and not meant to somehow manipulate the show's rating, even though my rating is in the minority. I saw her review, and she summed up some points I made in a better way. I'm definitely not as eloquent as her, so don't worry about us being the same person.

I'm always interested in alternative perspectives, especially from a person who didn't read the novel at first as well. I usually commit to dramas when I start them, but boy, this drama was rough to get through. I researched the characters and story quite a bit while watching to make sense, but it was still all over the place. Also, I honestly don't think I've ever been annoyed with extras so much as I have with this drama. There would just be these random characters talking like they had plot significance, and it kinda tickled me lol.

I tried looking at the novel a while back, but the chapters got to be really too much in number. Maybe I'll try reading it later. I actually think the story has a pretty solid concept and theme, but the execution in the drama didn't really bring it out to the fullest.

I knew that most of these actors were pretty new, but I didn't have too much issue with them. I forgot to mention that I really liked Jiang Cheng's character. I was taken aback by the first scene of him throwing Wuxian off a cliff, but he grew on me lol.

Nirvana in Fire was pretty complicated too, and I LOVED IT. I loved interacting with the little character chart and seeing who was related. Also, it made me sad. :(
