this is not a simple college drama that he can easily accept. after seeing so many period dramas i understand…
I was sarcastic, but let's not act as if he were thinking so hard. It was more like he was just messing with her. Trust me, no one would give a damn who he wants to marry. The whole royal family is like a tourist attraction basically. They have no power; at least we didn't see anything like that. They're basically like any other celeb but richer and live in a palace. 😂
Also, he can't be a King, so it doesn't really matter who Huiju is. He only asked for the veto because he knew the Queen Mother would pick someone who could be her ally. That's why he asked Huiju if she could fight with the Queen. I'm pretty sure he asked that.
Romantic inclination doesn't matter. Royal family members don't get married for love. That's just fantasy. 😅
We all know what's gonna happen; this is a typical romcom. They're gonna fall in love, have children, and become the new King and Queen. 😂
I agree with you but at the same time, it makes sense for both the FL and ML to be rather entitled.
It's pretty easy to tell they don't want to be more powerful because they want more money. They want more power, especially Huiju, so she can be free from her dad.
Just because you have a rich family doesn't mean you can run a company, btw. That's such a shallow way to look at it. I mean, for the love of God, just look at her brother. He's an absolute joke. He couldn't run a company even if it runs itself. 😂
Don't downplay her hard work. Not to mention, most people look down on her because she's an illegitimate child. So, it's not like she got it all on a silver plate.
Tbh, I don't think either of them wants to be a King or a part of a rich family. Especially the guy, because the royal family is useless. Like, they don't have any power. At least it doesn't seem like it.
The ML is doing a decent job, but IU is definitely better with face acting. You can tell when she's done with the cringe nonsense; the mask is off instantly. Actors can only do certain things. I'd say a performance is 70% about the script itself and the directing.
Her acting in "Tangerines" and here is totally different, and that's mainly about the script and the director. The guy directed "Alchemy of Souls" and "Secretary Kim". I think I said enough. Both are fun, nothing more. 😅
Why ML has to be a regent here? Can't empress herself go with her child everywhere? Even in historical drama we…
That usually happens if there's no other guy in the picture, and here SFL is probably just the wife of the King and not the daughter of the King before her husband. So, that means the real regent has to be ML.
The guy rejected Huiju like 50 times. I'm like: "Piss off already. Who do you think you are? Dude, you're lucky you're a prince, because she would've unalived you after the 2nd."
I know fans are shipping hard, but I'd love it if there were zero love, only use his royal status. That would be so realistic. Imagine the uproar.😂
Not gonna lie, IU has better chemistry with Steve Noh. I already hate the love triangle, btw.
Guys, I found Song Joongki's sister! It's Lee Yeon.😂https://i.imgur.com/ljoTEW1.png
As for the drama itself. The first 2 episodes were entertaining, but I get why some people can't handle the cringe parts of it. There are only a handful of actors who can make me tolerate cringe scenes, and one of them is IU. To be fair, it's cringe on purpose, so it's not like they're doing a bad job. It's pretty easy to tell, it's just a mask
All I can say is, if you loved "Hotel del Luna", you're going to love Perfect Crown. This is basically HDL mixed with the Korean "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement." 😂
Don't expect an overcomplicated story, and if they won't mess this up later, it can be a good guilty pleasure and fun.
I wish my bank account balance would grow as fast as haters writing "reviews" on MDL after the 1st episode. 😂
It's so funny people hating on it saying it's cringe, childish etc and the same people hyping up the same old copy and paste romcoms. I don't even want to mention names because there's like 500 romcoms.💀
Nana is from After School and y'all surprised she's doing gay sex scenes? This is the 21st century, not the 18th. I don't really care about the show, but I'm so done with the hypocritical and homophobic people.
All of you drool over your monitors or TVs if you see a pretty boy and a girl just baby kissing each other, but you can't handle sex scenes, nude scenes, or gay people.
This screams: "I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE STORY; I JUST WANT TO SEE PRETTY BOYS AND GIRLS KISS EACH OTHER!" 🤣
It's a well-made 7/10 drama. Nothing over the top, but a nice slice of life romcom. The only problem is that they had too many plot lines and they barely did anything with most of it. It was really just playing safe.
I don't think it's your typical cutesy romcom that most Kdrama fans want or love. It's more mature but not as well written as "Love Scout" for example.
I hate this too, but honestly, I'm more "afraid" a certain fandom will barge in and "review" bomb…
OScar has been a kids' show for at least a whole decade. That's why they're inviting Kpop Idols now because they need more views. Literally no one takes the Oscars seriously anymore.
IU doesn't have the acting chops? Her latest drama is literally the most successful drama in history and won the best actress for it. Jiwon have her own dram, go watch that when it's out and stop talking shit.
I'm not wasting more time on a dumbass troll. Go play in kindergarten. You just proved my point.
I hate this too, but honestly, I'm more "afraid" a certain fandom will barge in and "review" bomb…
If "Broker" was not good, how the hell did it get nominated at CANNES the most prestigious film award on this planet?
Did you even watch it? All I see is that you have this burner account to talk nonsense. I don't mind if you don't like a movie or a show, but don't try to argue with me without any valid points.
IU is literally a 3-time Baeksang-nominated actress. "My Mister", "Hotel Del Luna" and "Tangerines". Plus Broker as well. So that makes it 4.
Like I said, "Persona" is not one show, it's an art movie with different stories. It's not made for the typical Kdrama fans like you.
I only mention her recent dramas: these are her Baeksang nominations: 2019, 2020, 2023, 2025. She got nominated for all of her work since 2019, and neither was a Popularity Award, it was for Acting!
I never praised everything from IU, I never do that with anyone, but you're no better. You're just another toxic troll basically.
Answer me when you actually have a real argument. At least I don't make a new account to argue with people.
I hate this too, but honestly, I'm more "afraid" a certain fandom will barge in and "review" bomb…
No offense, but IU is literally THE ONLY Kpop Idol in history who was nominated at the Cannes Film Festival, and that was for "Broker". That's a fantastic movie.
"Persona" is just a short-form anthology series, and it was good. "Dream High" was okay-ish, unless you're talking about the "Dream" movie that was also good, and "Bel Ami" were okay-ish, like I said.
Also, who cares about ratings? That has nothing to do with quality. MDL is the prime example of that. Most overrated dramas here are bang-average at best.
I don't blame anyone; I'm not sure what you're talking about. I'm not a blindfolded idiot fan like most of you are. I don't give 10/10 ratings or even 8/10 just because my faves are in a movie or show. You can clearly see in my list that only 1 Kdrama has 10 rating, and that's "Tangerines".
If you lack reading comprehension, don't waste my time again. Especially with your burner account. You just proved my point with that btw.

I'm UAENA since 2008, so I will support it, unless the script is really bad, but I've never seen IU pick bad scripts. Not even in her early years. Even those were okay-ish.
My bigger problem is I don't know how to watch, because Disney messed this up again. No one can watch it in the EU.
Netflix should've bought it, especially after the success of Tangerines.
I have many faves kiddo, not sure what you're talking about. Maybe educate yourself first before you want to argue…
I'm a fan of her too, as you can see in my review, but the script was a mess.
Many Kdrama fans can't do things like rate properly and have real opinions, and what's worse, they think everyone should be positive all the time.
I'm the complete opposite of them. I don't care if my favorite actor(s) are in something. The first thing I look at is the script, then acting, directing, chemistry, etc. If the script fails to deliver, it's really hard to make me rate something higher than 6/10. The rest have to be top-tier or at least crazy fun like "Strong Girl Bongsoon". That show was carried by Park Boyoung and Park Hyungsik and their chemistry, but story-wise, it wasn't anything special. Tbf it was much better than this one.
Also, he can't be a King, so it doesn't really matter who Huiju is. He only asked for the veto because he knew the Queen Mother would pick someone who could be her ally. That's why he asked Huiju if she could fight with the Queen. I'm pretty sure he asked that.
