Just a run through of our lives!

This is "Melo Movie" in a nutshell!

If you expect a deep dive into the lives of these characters, a finished story, resolved problems and a typical happy ending, this is not for you!

I'm not gonna lie, I was only interested in this show, because of Park Boyoung, but the truth is, everyone, including the director and the writer did a great job in what they tried to do!

I have to mention the director separately, because if you know his work: "Hotel Del Luna", "Castaway Diva", "While You Were Sleeping" and so on, you can tell how good he is in making beautiful, and colorful scenes! The cinematography is amazing!

I didn't have a real problem with the writing after I understood what they actually tried to do with the characters.

At first, it was weird, because I felt like we're missing some key moments, and we're just jumping from one scene to another, but as I said in the title, this isn't really a coherent story, this is just a run through of the lives of these characters!

Honestly, I'd watch 10 more episodes. Sometimes, it was feelgood, funny, sad, cute, and real as it gets.

This is a well-made Kdrama, not perfect, but absolutely deserve the 10 hour of your life! Especially if you love these type of stories.

Great 1st half, and bad 2nd half with a dumb female lead!

Honestly, I would ban the writers to make more shows, because it's madness what she did with this show in the second half!

The story is nothing special, just the usual sageuk drama with one of the worst written love triangle. I don't understand why it was necessary, but if you want to include it in your show, at least do it right.

Eun San, never says anything, they never make it obvious who she loves, it's just a pure guessing game. The first 10 episodes is basically telling you that she likes the prince, then after a random episode, she loves the other guy.

The show is basically about 3 idiots who never experienced love, and they don't know what to do. My biggest problem is that both the prince and the second male lead told her how they feel, but she never said anything, till the finale.

She told the prince, he's the reason she started to feel something again, and she liked him. Yet, she's ending up with the other guy. This is just lazy writing again, because she knows how the guys feel about her, she even acknowledges it, and want to leave, so they can remain friends, but no, it didn't happen, so they basically became enemies, and what's worse the real enemies are even dumber than the female lead, and in the end nothing that happened matters.

They solved everything so easily, and if I'm being honest, I'm not sure if she actually chose the other guy. I swear she's with him, because the king asked her to do it, because someone need to protect him after the incident.

To be honest, I don't think the chemistry was good with any of the guys. With the prince, it was more of a kid romance with childish fights, like real friends, and it turned into real after she found out who he is.

With the other guy, it was a typical let's be sad together romance.

Also, that kiss scene was just messed up, and we have never seen how she actually reacted to that, because at first she wanted to push him away, and he literally forced her. That wasn't a real kiss, and people called the prince toxic because he wanted to lock her up? Sure, that's also a red flag, but let's be real, our main girl played with the guys like toys.

With a better writer, this could've been so much better. It's so weird to talk about the romance alone, but the rest wasn't interesting at all.

Another decent fantasy drama with a bad ending!

Honestly, this should've been only 16 episodes, and with a better writer, could've been so much better!

Overall, it's nothing special, but a lot of fun. The first 2 episodes were CRAZY, 10 episode worth of story in 2. I don't even understand why they did that.

The main plot is predictable as usual, but the characters were good.

The main problem with the show, yet again, is the inconsistent writing. They could've solved the problem in the finale easily, but no, let's do another time-jump instead, and don't use the ML's father who finally back to his old self and probably didn't die, just sleeping with his lover forever!

The last episode was a MESS! I mean, if they wanted to kill the FL, sure, do it, but don't use the same old reincarnation trope. It's so lazy, not to mention, makes no sense. What's the point of them reunite again in the future if they could've done the same in the past? You either give the viewer a happy ending or a sad ending, but not a copy and paste ending.

I know the writer won't see this, but my God, this whole: "I see your future and one of you will die, because you met in a place."

Dude, they didn't even meet there first. They met as little kids! The whole point of why she has to die is the biggest plot-hole in the story.

Short and sweet!

Maybe a bit too short? I think so.

Overall, this is a fantastic with well-written characters and important message, BUT I have to say, I didn't like what they did with the main plot. They didn't do anything with Geu Roo's parents till the finale, basically, not to mention the story about his uncle and his problems with those people.

This drama really needs a second season! Multiple plot lines are still open.

If they focused more on the main characters and not on the so called "weekly cases", this show could've been perfect.

Also, that ending was totally unnecessary, especially if we won't get a second season! Makes no sense whatsoever! Maybe t hey wanted to use her to start thinking about love, but if there's not gonna be another season, it's just a bad ending in my opinion. Without that scene, and even without a sequel, it would be a good ending.

Anyway, this is a MUST-WATCH, because this is a really strong drama with a few minor problems!

It was a good run, but that's all!

Another good, but nothing special Kdrama. The writing wasn't bad, but I didn't felt I know these characters at all. Almost every episode was random, and sometimes it was over the top.

It had some really good moments, it was funny at times, especially the duo of Young Hwa and Danah, but the main lead was average at best. Both couple were cute and all, but I don't think I will remember them for a long time. The same can be said about the show.

It has some important message behind all the drama, but it wasted to be honest, because they hardly did anything with the main plot.

At some point I felt like I want to skip scenes, and that's not a good look! Not because it was boring like some people say, it's not boring, it's just the writing wasn't coherent.

I won't lie, it's average!

The concept is fantastic, and the comedy part of the show is great, but I felt, they wanted too much in a short time. The first half of the season was basically all about him and his problem, but after that, I don't know what happened. So many things happened at the same in the last couple of episodes.

Honestly, I loved the story about Kibaek and Woojoo's family, not to mention the story about being a celeb, but the biggest problem with the show is that they didn't really do anything with these important topics. All of these came out of nowhere, and were finished in a second, basically.

The romance was good, the two main lead were good together, but I think they could've done more.

Also, sometimes it was over the top, and cringe, but other than that, it's a good show, with a meaningful message, but I'm a bit disappointed.

It's still worth to watch, tho.

WHERE ARE THE VAMPIRES???

Okay, so, I was like: This is a comedy show, almost like a vampire parody at first, and I'm not gonna lie, it was entertaining at first. Ok Taec Yeon and Won Jian were amazing, especially in those funny scenes, and as a couple they were good as well.

BUT what the actually "not so bloody" hell was the rest? I get that our main guy wants love and all, and he won't kill people, because he's a nice vampire, but for the love of God, this is a show about a vampire, and we didn't have A SINGLE ONE vampire who actually act like a real vampire!

I mean, that Man Hwi guy did some things, but that's all. He was obsessed with money, and let those two other morons to threat him like a nobody. A real vampire would've killed them both already. Don't tell me, he's keeping all those people in his cells, but let two billionaires to threat him like that.

The plot was a MESS. The show only worked when it was comedy, and not serious. They should've done that for all season.

I could tear apart the whole plot, but it would take more time than writing this Kdrama.

I only rate this to a 6/10, because the actors were great, and overall it was decent.

I don't really care about the ending, tho, because that's the only thing that was actually surprising and good.

I watched so many vampire movies and shows, even American shows on The CW, but even those weren't as bad this one. I'm not sure if The CW would pick up something like this, even tho, that nonsense Vampire Diaries was a mess, as well.

I don't think I've seen any good Korean movie or show about vampires yet. Maybe they just can't do it.

So much potential was wasted!

This isn't a love story, this is a real story!

I know, a lot of Kdrama fans wants happy ending, or at least a real conclusion, but real life isn't about that. 2521 is about real life and real people with real problems. If you want a typical romcom with the same story and stuff, this isn't your show.

This show is about young kids, and how they try to live their own lives in the past and in the present as well. Some people said, the scenes in the present are not important. Well, that's 100% untrue! The whole point of the series is to teach Heedo's daughter that not everything is black and white. This isn't about who's the father, I don't even understand why people keep talking about that.

The writing was top-notch, almost perfect. I was going back and forth, because sometimes I loved the characters, and sometimes I disliked them. What I really loved about this show is that most of the time, the writer didn't go overboard, but didn't shy away from the important topics either.

Like I said, this isn't a love story, this is a real story. In my eyes, the real main "couple" are Heedo and Yurim. How their friendship evolved over the years was amazing, and entertaining. This show proved that friendships are more important than a romance. Most romantic relationships ends, because people give up, even if there's a simple solution, but real friendships are not like that. With every problem, it's getting stronger, and the relationship between Heedo and Yurim is the prime example.

Kim Taeri and Bona carried the whole show.

It's not a perfect, because the last 2 episode wasn't that good, I think they focused too much on the romance. I don't think Heedo and Yijin were good together, and in my opinion, Taeri and Joo Hyuk didn't have a good chemistry as a couple. At first, they were like brother and sister, and later I didn't think they're a real couple. They were fantastic as friends, but not as a couple.

Yurim and Jiwoong were MUCH better! They were a typical teen romantic couple, sometimes cheesy, and cute, but later they proved they actually care about their relationship. They are the polar opposites of the main couple, even tho both had the same issues, basically. Yurim and Jiwoong proved that most romantic relationships ends, because people don't work hard enough to make it work. Just like Heedo said, they only loved each other when everything was good, but Yurim and Jiwoong remained together when their lives were hard too. That's why they were a better couple.

I think 2521 is a fantastic show that actually deserve the hype, and it's teaching you important lessons about life.

Also, if you love sports, like myself, you're gonna enjoy it even more. All the hardships Heedo and Yurim, and every side character had to face to be the best athletes worth to watch this 17 hour long show!

My only problem with the show is the last 2 episode and the credit scene. That was unnecessary, but other than that, this is a MUST WATCH!

A perfect show if your mood is down!

I mean, just watching Joy smile worth watching this 6-7 hour long Kdrama!

I don't really know what could I say about this slice of life drama, because the story itself isn't what's important, it's the feelgood vibe you'll get while watching. One of my favorite genre is slice of life, because I can just enjoy everything without worrying about the writing or the unnecessary twists.

To be honest, I didn't have any big problem with the show, but I couldn't give 10/10, because I felt, they should've done more with Jiyul's parents and grandparents, not to mention Ja Young's parents.

There are many shows with 16 or 20 or even more episode, but in my opinion, Once Upon a Small Town deserve at least 5 or 6 more episodes. I could watch this s how for weeks, because it's just fun.

Thankfully the love story was well-written, it wasn't annoying, even the love triangle was handled well, and that actually surprised me. Usually, love triangles are really irritating.

The side-characters were also good, the secondary romance was a bit surprising, honestly, because that came out of nowhere, because we didn't see how it happened.

Anyway, if you want to watch a nice drama that you can just enjoy without worrying about anything else, you should watch this!

At least it's short?

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad show at all, but I have some big problems with it.

At first, I didn't know it's a web-drama, because I wanted to watch another Kdrama with Kim Jiwon, and that's how I find it on Netflix.

I liked the premise of the story. It's not original per se, but in the Kdrama world it was fresh. It doesn't felt like a Kdrama, at all, at first. It was like a typical indie TV show. I wasn't a fan of the documentary style, because in some cases it was weird.

The characters were okay, nothing special, just ordinary people, and that was the point anyway.

The first half was fun with the two main lead characters. Their romance felt real and natural, but after we realized what happened and why, it was a bit annoying to me. I get the point why she lied about herself, but doing all that with the guy, and just leave him, and even when they meet again, there was no explanation.

The most irritating part of this show is that the character NEVER talk about their issues. I know, I know, that's how it works in real life as well, and this series is kinda trying to do the same, but it was still annoying, especially, because she lied to everyone, not just the guy. Overall, they were cute and all, but not the best couple I've seen.

As for the secondary couples. It was obvious from the start what's gonna happen with Rin and Kyung. Their relation was too good on the surface. They always hide their problems.

Kang Gun and Sun Young were more interesting at first, but their ending was "meh", and honestly, dumb as hell. I don't even understand what was the point of their romance if they wanted to end like that.

The funny thing is that the most interesting and best couple of the show is the actress girl with the cop guy.

And that's all, basically, because there's nothing more to say. This show is just an ordinary story about ordinary people.

It wasn't bad, but if I want to watch something like this, I will watch "NORMAL PEOPLE" again, even tho that's not a Kdrama! That's how you do a story like this.

It's a MESS, but it's a really fun MESS!

Let's start with the obvious! You're NEVER gonna watch this show, because it's well-written, because it's not! I could tear apart the story like a piece of paper.

The base of the story is a mess, there are no rules, basically. I know, every fantasy is different, but I think they made a mistake with some things like that water part. That's basically the biggest plot hole in the story. If one simple drop of water can change her back to mermaid, she couldn't leave the house, basically. They should've done it like in other mermaid shows, like she's only changing when it's seawater.

Also, the crime story was handled poorly. Not to mention the mother story. I get that she divorced and left the house, but for the love of God, how can she leave her son as well? We didn't get a proper explanation of why or how it happened. That's not a real mother in my eyes! The law doesn't work like that, not even in Korea, she could've seen her son at least on a weekly or monthly basis.

The whole story was predictable, BUT with shows like this one, it's not really about the story. It's about the characters, and basically every character were great.

Jun Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho were amazing together. Especially Ji Hyun. I can't believe she was 34 when they shot this Kdrama, yet she looked like the cutest puppy ever. Her (face)acting is something else! She was not only cute, and obviously beautiful as hell, but badass as well. The love story between them was not ordinary or new, but still, I was invested 100%!

Honestly, at first I was like: "20 episodes, why?" But it didn't felt long or stretched, because most of the episodes are like fillers, in a good way. It was like a weekly American show.

My biggest problems with the show, other than the writing, is the last couple of episodes, AGAIN! After they finished all the main story, I just can't understand why they had to start a new drama with her leaving, not to mention erasing everyone's memory. That was 100% pointless, and ridiculous. At first, I was like, why is her heart has a problem, but later we find out the reason, and that made the whole FAKE DRAMA even worse! If she had to leave because she needed time to heal, she should've just said it, not making a fuss about it, so the writers can waste time for unnecessary scenes.

She should just leave, for 3 years, everyone knows what happened, and come back later. End of story. I mean, two of them already knew she's a mermaid, they could've told his mother and the other kid as well.

The last 2 episodes could've been like those filler ones, living in peace, raising their kid etc. Also, we never get any real explanation about that girl who can hear her thoughts. I mean, sure, she remembers her past, but that's not a real explanation. Just because in the past she was a mermaid, it doesn't mean she's a mermaid in the present as well. We never see her mother or her father as well. At first, I thought the father is the guy who died. That would be a nice side story.

Anyway, like I said, you won't watch this show, because it's the best ever, it's a show that you're gonna enjoy if you don't about the story too much, because it's a LOT of fun, and the drama is well-written, most of the time.

A Kdrama with actual meaning!

Before I start writing my review, I want to say something! I keep seeing people dislike shows if it's slower paced, and the meaning of the story wasn't spelled out loudly! I know in Kdrama land, most people want shows real meaning, just cute romance and stuff, and I'm not saying this drama is perfect, it is not perfect, but I've read so many comments and reviews saying, it's boring, the writing is bad, there are plot holes, and they hate Nyeo Shin, because she's EVIL!

So, now I want to dive into, why EVERYONE is wrong! At least in the base of the story!

1st: There are ZERO plot holes in the story, you just didn't watch the show carefully.

The main plot is that Dong Kyung has brain cancer, and she's gonna die in 3 months, and in one day everything goes sh-t, so she wants the whole world to end, and that's how Mr. Doom appears. Form here is obvious, I mean, this is a Kdrama, of course they will fall in love and other things, BUT that's not really the main plot here. The main plot is people have to realize something important, and it is the circle of life! There's a rule, so to speak, and you can't change it, doesn't matter how hard you try or want to. There are no EVIL characters in this show. God Girl is not evil, she actually loves humanity, she's literally died millions of times for humanity! She's helping the two lead characters to finally understand what's important, who they are.

People say there is no character development! What did you watch? The fact that Dong Kyung sacrificed their love for the sake of humanity, and Saram (Mr. Doom) finally understands and accepted who he is, and most importantly why he was created in the first place, is a MASSIVE character development! Not to mention the fact that Dong Kyung finally became her own person. She's not doing what others want, she stands up for herself finally.

2nd: It's not boring, it's just slow paced!

People HAVE to learn the difference between, slow paced and boring, because it's not the same thing. It's okay if you don't like slower shows that's more like a slice of life than a pure comic book fantasy drama, but don't call it boring!

It's not always the writer's fault if the viewer can't understand the meaning of the story!

Now, let's start my review!

I'm starting with the obvious. This show isn't unique, it's not like we didn't see anything like this, BUT the way they handled the story IS unique! The two main lead, Park Boyoung and Seo Inguk carries the show, and they're the main reason why it's working, but I have to say, Jung Jiso as the God or Goddess is on the same level, too! She may look like a little girl, but her aura is like the most experienced person on Earth! Honestly, I don't think the rest is matters at all, because all the sub-plots, and side characters are uninteresting. I mean, Dong Kyung's brother isn't bad, he grew on me eventually, and he wasn't really a 1 dimensional character, but he wasn't outstanding. The same goes for Na Jina.

The rest are absolutely forgettable!

The main plot is what matters the most, and it carries the whole show, to be honest! Is this show about: "Love wins all"? Kind of, but not in the same way as many other Kdrama did it, because it's not just about romantic love, it's about parental love as well for BOTH main character! The show is about PATIENCE, ACCEPTANCE, and UNDERSTANDING! Maybe you don't like the rules, but it doesn't mean it's bad!

Anything that you can get easily, it's not worth it! Is it a cliché? YES! Clichés are bad? NO! People just love to use this term as an insult, but clichés exist for a reason. It's the truth, basically!

My biggest problem with the show is the side characters, the lame love triangle, and the ending. Not because it was bad, but because it was like they cut the ending. It was weird, especially because they mentioned the wedding so many times, but it never happened. I mean, it's not like the wedding is necessary, but if I hear about it for 4 or 5 episodes, I want to see it or at least show me that they are married now after a time jump or something.

But the weirdest thing on this was that Kevin guy. I know Koreans love to use western people in their shows, but if they can't speak Korean, or the Korean characters can't speak English, I don't see the point doing it! It was hard to watch every time he was on-screen!

It's also worth mentioning that the OST is good as well! I wouldn't say, it's outstanding, but it's good.

Overall, this is a good drama, with a meaningful message, and yes, it's slow paced, and if you don't like these type of shows, just skip it, but if you want to learn something new, it's made for you!

I'm pretty sure we can find MUCH worse Kdramas on this platform with MUCH HIGHER ratings without any meaning whatsoever!

A cute show wanting to be too many things?

I feel like basically every character on this show was dumb as hell!

Not because they believe in past lives or magic, but they didn't even try actually investigate about the things that happened. For example. Hongjo cast a spell to heal Shinyu, but he never went to his doctor to check if the spell was actually working. They just accepted that his love for Hongjo is just magic, but later they found it was "meant to be", so this whole magic plot was basically meaningless. The whole plot was created to make them fall in love, but we never got any answer how they remember their past lives or if his love for her was actually real, or they just went with it.

Sadly, this was the main part of the story, so I can't give this more than 7/10, BUT overall, it's a good Kdrama with likable characters, but with lazy writing. In my opinion, the actors made this show better than it actually is.

The chemistry between Boah and Rowoon is top-notch, but their characters making the dumbest decisions every time. This is such a typical thriller/horror writing when the characters know someone is after them, yet they still don't want to call the police or remain in a safe space.

Also, the side characters, especially their co-workers were annoying, I mean, BIG TIME! The only good character was probably Shinyu's mother and his best friend.

What I didn't like is that they said, Hongjo doesn't have anyone, yet in episode 13, I think, we found it that her landlady is actually her mother's best friend? What the heck?

So, in short, I think this is a fun show, if you can forget all the mess that the writer did with the story. There's nothing special in this show, but I don't think it's a waste of time, but only because the actors did a great job!

It's a unique show, but...

The first half of the show was hella fun, the characters are interesting, and the acting was on point, BUT in the second half, the writers messed up the crime story, BIG TIME! It's easy to tell that 3 different people wrote the script, because when it was about the real drama or the fun it was a peak show, but when they focused on the crime story, they didn't know what they really want.

For some, it may look like they knew all along who's gonna be the real killer, but for me, it was easy to tell, they didn't know it till the last couple of episode. That's why they always changed suspect.

I feared they will mess up the story between Ye Bun and Sun Woo, and they did it. There were ZERO chemistry between them, yet they still forced the romance plot for no reason, and honestly, Ye Bun was pretty annoying multiple times, because she was like a little girl, who can't imagine if her puppy is a killer or not. They should've stuck to him as the killer, because the last couple of episode made no sense! It was really disappointing that they changed the killer, because that ruined at least 2 different story line.

IF this show focus more on the fun parts, it could've been so much better. Also, the so called "love story" between Ye Bun and Jang Yeol was obvious from the start, but they messed up that one too. They stretched their story so much, and there was literally no time left to make them official, so they did it in the last second, basically.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if this is just a body cop show without any romance plot.

It had so much potential, and even tho it's a unique show, sadly, it remained average till the end.

A HOT MESS WITH TOXIC MESSAGE!!!

I wasted 16 hours of my life, and sadly there's no Abyss that can give it back to me.

What on Earth was this? I mean, I only watched this till the end, because I love Park Boyoung, but no wonder the writer didn't get any job after this mess. Without joking, this show had more plot holes than episodes.

I don't want to get into details, because writing a real review about this would take more time than what the writer spent on it.

The most important thing: THERE'S NO MEANING IN THIS DRAMA! The only message is that you can spend 20 YEARS with your so called "friend" who you called UGLY many times, but when he comes back as a HOT GUY, you forget who he was, and somehow you think you always loved him.

The BIGGEST BULLSHIT I've EVER seen!

Boyoung, Hyo Seop and the rest of the cast did everything they could, but this is just GARBAGE!

Without Boyoung, I would've dropped it after episode 3 or 4.

If you don't want to waste your time: DON'T WATCH IT! Only if you're crazy like me who want to watch everything from your favorite actors.😅
