A decent "finale"?

I'm not sure if they want to continue the story, it looks like it, based on the ending, and I'm not saying I'm not interested, but I feel, what happened in the finale makes no sense at all. Or more like the last 2 episodes.

I honestly don't understand why Kdrama writers always do this. They either finish the story fast in the finale, and it ruins the whole thing, or so many things happening, and they forget what was the original plan.

Overall, this is a good show, with great casting, acting, music and visuals, and even tho I wasn't a fan of recasting Eun Seom and Tan Ya, but both of them are great actors and I "forget" that they weren't the original actors. But I still think, the chemistry wasn't as good as with Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won. Ji Won was more charismatic in the role.

The biggest problem is the plot holes and plot armor. The characters made so many dumb mistakes, they should've been killed off already, but the plot holes always protected them.

I also think, the writers didn't do much with this story, even tho it was 30 episode overall!

To be honest, the show represents well how stupid people are, and most of them are like sheep.

What I HATE in the last 2 episode is what they did with Tan Ya. Thousands of people followed her, yet the minute their King is back, they forget her? How is that makes any sense?

Also, the irritating cycle between Ta Gon and Tae Alha is just ridiculous. Sure, they love each other, yet they want to kill each other, but she had a chance to live a normal life with her son, but no, she wants revenge and another war with her teen son?

Not to mention Saya. He's probably the one who suffered the most, BUT it's not an excuse for wanting the throne again. Why? His brother saved him, he knows Tan Ya loves Eun Seom and Arthdal is finally at peace or something like that. But no, let's do another war, because girlie doesn't love us, so let's kill everyone?

I thought his character developed, but they ruined it in the finale.

Anyway, this is a good show overall, but I'm not sure we really need another season, even tho I'd love to see how Eun Seom and Tan Ya ruling Arthdal.

Overall: Good show!

I'm not sure how to rate this show without watching the 2nd season, but overall, the first 18 episodes were good. The world building, the characters, the complexity of the story, it was all good, even tho we can't ignore the plot armor, but that's just a usual thing in fantasy shows.

It was kind of disappointing that Eun Seom and Tan Ya didn't meat in this season, but at least she knows that he's alive. Tan Ya's arc was probably the best, her character developed the most.

There were some parts where the story didn't really make sense, and sometimes it felt like I'm watching filler episodes. The power struggle between Ta Gon, Sa Ya, Tae Al Ha and the others were interesting, but I felt the writers didn't have the courage to take some drastic measures. I also think that Eun Seom remained the same naive guy till the end. Sure, he's strong and smart, but I hope in the next season he's not gonna be this sunshine and rainbow guy who thinks everything can be solved with kindness. I mean, the message is good, but that's not how the real world works.

My biggest problem is that in season 2, Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won are no longer there. I don't know why, probably scheduling conflicts, but it's already a negative for me. Even tho, I like both of the new actors who play these roles.

I think the creators messed it up a bit with doing the new season 4 years later.

The OST and the Score were amazing, just like the cinematography and the VFX.

I highly recommend this show to every fantasy lover, especially if the 2nd season is good too.

Yeah, I was not prepered for this!

At all!!! I thought, I this is going to be a fun teen comedy with some cheesy romance, but no, it was more mature than I expected. The writing was fantastic, the actors are great, and if you lived as a teen in the 90s you'll feel the nostalgia. Okay, technically I was only 13 in 2000, but still.😅

Anyway, at first I was afraid, they might do a lame love triangle or even quadruple, but no, they managed this whole romance story in the best possible way.

I'm not sure what can I say more without spoiling it, but DON'T READ ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MOVIE BEFORE YOU WATCH IT!

It was a surprising show!

Not, because the plot isn't predictable. Even tho there were some elements that actually surprised me, but there are shows that are even tho they're predictable, it's still fun, have a real meaning. My Demon is not the best show on Earth, but they didn't complicate the story too much, didn't stretched out anything for no reason, like many Kdrama does. Basically every character is lovable, funny, and the villains are not 1-dimensional.

The writing isn't the best, but it's consistent, there's no unnecessary drama. Everything that the characters are doing is understandable. The chemistry between Kim You Jung and Song Kang is top-notch, every actor did their best. Honestly, it's quite surprising that most characters actually developed into a better one.

The best part, at least for me, is that there's no stupid love drama, no crazy love triangle or anything like that. The past life story was great too, but it could've been a bit longer.

I LOVED how Ga Young's story "ended", her character development is probably the best!

Like I said, the show surprised me with some of its twists, but overall it's still predictable, but this is the prime example when it can't ruin the enjoyment.

I loved the message of the show as well: Nothing as simple as you may think. Everything has two sides.

I think, this is the meaning of the show.

This show deserve the hype for sure, but don't expect too much, this is just a good, thrilling show with well-written characters and love story.

The simple things are the best!

Just like this show! There are shows that don't do much, it's just about average people and their average lives, doing dumb things, making mistakes like everyone else. Fight for my way is like this! Nothing special, nothing fancy or over the top, just a really good feelgood and fun drama with real people.

I don't think there's anything I have to talk about, because there are no big plots, so you have to see it for yourself.

I only had problems with the last 2 episodes. They should've done it after episode 12-13 or so, because that story was actually interesting and good, but sadly the writer messed it up a bit, because they found out everything in the finale, and it was solved in the same episode, basically.

Other than that, this is a fantastic show, with great actors and chemistry. Dong Man and Ae Ra's relationship carrying the whole show, it was fun as hell, because Seo Joon and Ji Woon are comedic genius, I'm sure. Their aegyo scenes are hilarious, and probably this is why it's still Legendary. 😂

Ha Yoon as Seol Hee absolutely stole the show for me. Every nice guy deserves a great woman like her, except Joo Man!😅

Their story was interesting, and even tho their ending was realistic, I didn't like it. Sure, it wasn't cheating technically, but I don't think I would forgive him.

Also, the MMA scenes were a bit lackluster.

I think if there's a show that deserve a couple of more episodes, it's "Fight for my way".

A feelgood, fun show, but that's all!

It was nothing special, to be honest. Sure, there was some really good storyline, the whole X story was good and most characters were great too, but that's all. It doesn't want to be more than it is, and that sometimes isn't a bad thing, but if you include bullying, fraud and other important storylines, you have to do something with them. Honestly, the only story that was well written is the X story. They didn't do much with the bullying girls, for example. I liked that some bullies, like Bo Ra's friend, wasn't that bad, but still, I don't like that basically no one got the well deserved punishment. Poor girl had to endure so many sh*t and every bully just moved on? Why, because nobody cared. The policewoman was just there for romance purpose, basically. Also, the accident with the bus was really bad. I mean, everyone looked like if they crashed with a truck. Not to mention, when the girls were fighting, they didn't do much, and still they looked like MMA fighters after a match.😅 Lastly, I was a bit surprised that there wasn't a single kiss scene. I mean, I get that 18-year-olds maybe don't want to kiss, but what about the adults! They acted like teens, too.

Other than that, this is a good show, Eun Ho and Tae Woon were really great together, not a typical couple for sure.
Sejeong's obviously stole the whole show, and her aegyo is legendary for a reason.đŸ€Ł

Like I said, it's nothing special, but still worth watching it. Sometimes it feels good to watch a random show that turns off your brain for 16 hours.

A real feelgood movie!

This movie is almost perfect. My only problem is that the score and music is not the best, and the World Cup scenes with the cheering and commentating was cringe as hell most of the time. Too over the top. The cast was great, especially the two lead. The other members in the team had a good backstory too. This was a feelgood, heartwarming movie and funny too. Also, even though it would've been nice to see a happy ending for everyone, I liked it that not everyone had it. My other problem is that we didn't get any confirmation about In Sun's girlfriend, or maybe I just missed it. That Japanese girl was her because we never saw her again.

Almost perfect!

One of the most heartbreaking drama I've watched so far. I had to wait days to feel better emotionally and mentally, so I can write my review. The two main lead Kim Joo Hyuk (Rest in Peace 😭) and Park Eun Bin were absolutely phenomenal! All the hardships, disrespect, pain, and misery they had to endure from others, and they still remained calm and kind to others is what every people should do, and we would live in Utopia, probably. Sure, it's long it could've been like 100 episode or so and there were a couple of average episodes and some weird plot lines but overall this show, the actors, the writers didn't disappoint me. Also, the music and the score is beyond fantastic. In my opinion, this drama is a must-watch for everyone for one reason! People have to learn how to behave and how to be kind to others! I will rewatch this show many times, even if it's depressing as hell!

A HUGE missed opportunity!

First of all. I only watched this drama because I love Park Eun-bin. If I would live in Korea I would smack the writer on the face. I don't know about others but for me, this was THE most frustrating drama I've EVER watched so far. Not because the two lead are idiots, I watched a lot of drama, even mexican soap opera so the fact that the main couple are just a typical "I love you but I can't be with you for some random and 100% dumb reason." characters didn't bothered me much. But I HATE when someone using time travel to make it more interesting but for the most part it doesn't even matter if he's a traveler or not. Honestly, this drama could've been one of the best with a better writer. Also, can I just say how weird it is that coach knew these guys since they were like 17 and he's obviously MUCH older than Yi Seul and nobody bothered to say anything about this? This is the first drama that I've seen from Eun-bin where her character was written as a typical cliche female character.

The OST, the acting was great and that's the only reason why I didn't stopped watching it. It was a long time when I was this angry after watching something. This show should've been a fun time traveling romantic story but in the end I don't there was any character development. Both lead character remained the same.

SPOILER!!!!

Honestly, I hated when they killed off Yi Seul BUT I would liked that ending better (after they dragged out the drama too long for no reason) so the whole time traveling story would make sense or at least would have a real consequence or even keep the amnesia trope with Baek Ho. Also they should've just skip the typical love drama and should've used Baek Ho and Yi Seul relationship more, not to mention Baek Ho's backstory with her family!

Don't expect too much and you're gonna enjoy it!

First of all, it's not the best show on Earth, not even the best medical drama, and it's not really accurate either, BUT it's a LOT of fun, and feelgood drama with well-written stories, and characters.

I think the biggest problem with the show is the main couple, I don't think there's any chemistry between the leads. The show could've been better without the romance plot. The fact that in the finale, all of them got a love interest was a bit much. Sabi and Jaeil were easily the best "couple" on the show. Their dance scene was one of the funniest part of the show.

The banter between the characters and the way SOME senior doctors taught their juniors were fun and interesting. I'm glad the so called "villain" of the story got her well-deserved ending, but I'd loved it if FL go on rampage because of her.

The 4 residents were likable and had a great dynamic, but I feel like the writers didn't do much with the plot. We could say YET, because I have a feeling we might get a 2nd season. It's more like a week-to-week drama with new cases, so don't expect some massive main plot. To be honest, it doesn't need anything like that.

My other problem with the show is that when real problems occurred, like deaths, I don't think the characters had much time to deal with it, they basically forget about what happened in the same episode. It would've been better if we actually see them struggling a bit with PTSD or something.

Overall, it's a fun show, and if they're planning a 2nd season, I'm up for it, but only because the characters are great. Especially the 4 main lead.

Smile or else!?

I'm going to be honest. I watched this show because I was curious why it's so hyped. Now, I understand it. It's all about the chemistry between the two lead actor! Overall the show was great, the acting, the whole production was top-notch, also I loved the OST too. I only gave 8/10 because the actors did a great job and the overall feeling of the show was good. It is a typical clichĂ© KDrama for sure, BUT I was honestly surprised that there wasn't a HUGE problem with the whole "poor" girl dating with the billionaire guy. Usually they're stretching this type of story for 10+ episodes, but huge props to the writers not doing that on this show. It was refreshing that most of the characters felt real and they weren't overdramatic. I watched 'King the Land' right before 'A Business Proposal' so most of the storyline felt the same honestly, but this is just a minor issue. My biggest problem was the whole sister vs brother story. It was totally unnecessary, at least the way they did it. Also, they should've done more with the mother story too, but that's all, basically. One thing's for sure, Yoon Ah and Jun Ho set the show on fire.😅 I know they finished the story well, but I would love to see a 2nd season. Lastly, my favorite part of the show is the friendship between the girls and Da Eul's daughter, she was a little savage.đŸ€Ł The main Supporting Cast were fantastic.

I know there are people who afraid of the hype, but I'm probably one of the biggest critic when it comes to overhyped shows or movies. So, trust me, this is a fun ride for sure. Not perfect, but to be honest, there's not a lot of perfect show, especially in KDrama world. Not to mention, that seeing Yoon Ah's smile worth every minute you will spend on this show. No wonder, she's the "IT GIRL" of this generation.

If you loved the 1st season, you're gonna love this one too!

Don't expect too much! The 2nd season doesn't really offer more than the 1st, the casting is still good, the action is even better now, but the story is still average at best!

What I loved about the 1st season is missing from here, and that's the time period. Even tho, I loved the first season more, I think the second one deserve the same score, because it's not worst, it's just nothing new.

Honestly, when I first heard the new season will take place in the present, I already knew how it's gonna end and what's gonna happen, and I was right. From start to finish, it was predictable. This is like a typical Marvel movie, average, BUT enjoyable and fun, but you won't think about it too much after you finished it.

I think the big problem with the series is that they have a fascinating story with a meaningful message, but just like in every blockbuster movie, they don't really care about that, it's more about the action than the meaning behind the story. They talk about the importance of life and stuff, but don't really show it to us.

Sohee and Seojoon are still amazing, what you can see is an acting masterclass, but I'm not sure if this show can offer more.

Also, I didn't like the ending. I mean, if we will get a 3rd season, I don't get why they had to finish Chae Ok and Tae Sang's story like that, because it's obvious what's gonna happen to them in the next season.

Not to mention the cliffhanger. Honestly, I'm intrigued how they would handle a story like that, but after watching 2 seasons, I'm not sure if I want to see it with the same writer.

Anyway, like I said, if you liked the 1st season, the 2nd won't disappoint you, probably, but if you want more from a show than average with good action scenes, then you have to watch something else!

Three generation of tangerines!

Netflix’s latest hit drama, maybe not as big as other mainstream Kdrama on the platform, like the “Squid Game” or the “King the Land”, but it certainly achieved what others don’t, and it’s a perfect storytelling thanks to the writer, Im Sang Choon who also wrote one of my all-time favorite Korean series “Fight for My Way”. Her right-hand man is none other than Kim Wonseok, who directed multiple great drama, one of those is another fan favorite, and soul crashing drama “My Mister” where IU were also the main lead! So, even before the release, the chance for another amazing series were high, and if you watched “When Life Gives You Tangerines”, you probably already know, they didn’t disappoint us this time either.

What you need to know about this drama is that it’s not an action packed fantasy or thriller. It’s a story about real people, packed with struggles, sadness, love, and happiness throughout 70 years! This is why I said it's “three generation of tangerines”, because just like real life, it has sweet, but sour moments as well!

"It's better to be born a cow than to be born a woman in Jeju."

In the beginning, the story takes place in the 50s and ends in our present. Aesun our grumpy, but lovable leading lady (played by the incredible child actress Kim Taeyeon, IU in her young adult era, and later Moon Sori) trying to make her mother Gwang Rye (Yum Hye-Ran – The Glory) to stop risking her life as a haenyeo, because she’s already sick. The main plot of the drama is not the romance! If you want another cute romcom, you're watching a wrong show! It’s about the relationship between parents and their kids, and how hard it is to be a woman in this era. The writer didn’t shy away from this important topic. Throughout the season, you can find a lot of strong female characters. More than I’ve seen in any other, probably. The mother-daughter bond was written in a way, I don’t think I’ve seen in any other Korean drama. It’s not in your face, they don’t spell-out everything, on the contrary, you have to listen very carefully to understand everything, because the creators paid attention to the tiniest details. I watched it twice, and I don't do this usually, but I had to, because I didn't want to miss anything, and after the second watch, it hit even harder!

"Parents dwell on what they couldn't give. And children dwell on what they couldn't get."

As I said, the most essential part of the story is the bond between loved ones. Obviously, you will get multiple love stories, and the most important one is Aesun and Gwansik relationship. Their story is not extraordinary, they don't have to fight with monsters, they just have to live day by day and support each other as much as they can, and oh boy, they did that. They not only fought to live another day, but for to earn everyone's respect and change things in an era where it was not usual to stand up for yourself, especially if you are a woman. Gwansik may be a silent warrior, but he was the strongest soldier in Aesun's army. Life is not easy, but if you have a partner for life, nothing else matters. It's a clishe, but it's still true. Aesun and Gwansik were partners in every possible way, not just as lovers, but as friends and parents as well.

"I was mad at my mom for being poor. I was mad because I knew I was the reason."

The second half of the season is where the drama becomes even more interesting, because the young adult duo turns into adults, and their roles is taken over by another two great actors, Moon Sori and Park Haejoon (who also worked with the director and IU on "My Mister"), and if that's not enough, we can see IU takes over another role as their oldest child, Geum Myeong, proving how versatile she is. At first, this may sound weird, one actress playing two roles, mother and daughter looking exactly the same, but it's easy to forget about this pretty fast, because the way IU portrays these characters helps a lot! Not to mention the make-up department, because even as a long-time IU fan (since 2008), even myself sometimes forgot that these characters were played by the same actress. One of my favorite part of the show is the narration! This is another example of IU taking her craft seriously. She could've taken this lightly, but she didn't. She not only uses different tones (also dialect, I think) for both characters, but her narrating helps so much to understand these characters and their struggles. On screen, you may see Geum Myeong arguing with her parents about something, acting as a brat, meanwhile in the narration, she's explaining, why she was a dumb kid who didn't understand her parents at all. This gives so much depth to the characters, both Aesun and her daughter, and of course Gwansik as the most important man in their lives. Sadly, as it usually happens, people realize too late they had everything from the beginning.

"I had a loving dad. But my dad didn't have a loving daughter."

Even tho the writer included many strong female characters of all ages, don't think male characters are less significant or strong. Of course, no man can hold the candle to Sir Gwansik, the Korean Lancelot, especially as a father and a husband. His relationship with his kids is something that will melt everyone's heart. Of course, his heart has its own Queen and that's Aesun, but all he can see since her birth is her Princess, Geum Myeong. If there's one man who gives his all to his loved ones, it's Gwansik, and it doesn't matter how long it takes, how much he has to do, he always there for his family, and he never gives up! The saying: "Not all hero wear capes." is really about him. You have to look for the tiniest details, even when it's about parenting or being a husband, because as I said, they don't say everything out loud.

There are so many elements of the show I don't want to talk about right now, because this is a spoiler-free review, and I know this isn't a feelgood drama, but I highly recommend to watch more than once, because finding all those clues, why these characters did something or didn't, why they're acting in a certain way is a huge plus. Even if they're frustrating at first, if you understand the signs, it helps you a lot to understand them. Even tho this drama is not a fantasy, you can still find exiting or even surprising moments. Especially if you miss those tiny details. It happened to me too on the first watch, and when I realized why that dialogue happened, it had a bigger impact on me than finding out who's the killer in a thriller. The scene where Geum Myeong hurt her parents' feelings, her dad raise his voice for the first time, and finding out the reason why that scene happened in the first place, is probably one of my favorite!

It's really hard to talk about "When Life Gives you Tangerines" without spoilers, and I didn't say anything about the amazing side characters or many other things, but I think, it's better if you experience it yourself.

If there's one thing, this drama taught me, is that nothing is simple in this life, but if you have people around you, you can achieve anything!

"To my parents who were so young, and always so tender-hearted all throughout the seasons.
With remorse, gratitude, and the deepest respect, thanks for showing us what to do when life gives you tangerines."

A realistic movie about love!

I wouldn't say it's a romantic movie, even tho you could interpret the story in two different ways, the message remains the same. Two women love each other till the end! It doesn't matter if they're only friends or lovers, these are just labels. This movie basically perfect, because it shows that relationships are not easy and simple, it's complex, and you have to work hard to maintain it.

What I love about this movie is that it's not about the guy, it's 100% about the girls' POV. As much as they love each other, they're always messing up something, but they never leave each other.

In the end, they're basically become the same person. It was like Miso not only finished her art, but Ha Eun's life as well.

The story isn't finished, you have to guess what happened with Jin Woo and his daughter. Who knows, maybe he will raise her with Miso, or just meet the girl once in a while. But I don't think that matters.

At the end of the day, this is about Miso and Ha Eun, and how much they love each other.

Like the title says: They're soulmates.

The writer left the show just like Ajin left the Award Show.

When I watched Episode 1, I thought: "Jesus Christ, this is crazy". Then I realized, a drama that sets the bar this high is not gonna end well, and as usual, I was right again.

The first half of the season was fun, and chilling, but the second half was just a HOT MESS!!!

I should dislike a psychopath woman like Ajin, but somehow, I managed to hate Junseo more than any other character on the show. No sane person would make excuses for Ajin, but the fact is, she never experienced love and caring, and based on what we've seen, she never really wanted to hurt anyone, other than her dad. When she did something bad against someone, it was basically a retaliation. Sure, she used people for her own sake to gain success and fame, but it's not like other people don't do the same, it doesn't make her worse than others.

The biggest problem with the show is that there's no clear goal. Someone hurts Ajin, and she fights back. That's all. What they did to her in the past when she was a kid was never solved by the police, no one protected her. All the disgusting crimes people and her own family committed against her were never solved. I can't blame her at all for wanting to kill her dad, even tho she could've done it without using another guy, but that's another story.

The police were completely useless, but this is not a surprise in Kdrama land.

The writer used her backstory and mental illness as a tool, and barely did anything with it. The whole show was carried by Kim You Jung, and Kim You Jung ALONE! Without her, I would've dropped this in midway. Her acting made this addictive.

The only actor who were almost on the level with her is Kim Do Hoon. They were the ONLY interesting characters and actors who actually put something in this.

Kim Young Dae was bang average, he was basically a one face guy, and a totally useless character. I don't mind if his character wants to betray Ajin, but he not only betrays her, he betrays Jaeo as well. What's worse, he helps out the psychopath billionaire who killed his so called "friend". How messed up is that? Not to mention, he gives up on his kidney to help his abusive mother, then lives with her a couple of weeks to make her a bit happy. Like, where's the logic in this?

Say whatever you want about Ajin, that's up for debate, but Jun Seo is not better than her in any shape or form. I would argue he's worse than Ajin.

Above, I said I don't know what was the point of this drama, and the finale proved that. They didn't solve a single storyline, and that's a rare thing to see, even in a Kdrama.

I could rant about this show all day, but I don't want to waste more time.

I'm really disappointed!
