yes, it's the same in my country too. and yeah, you made a strong point about toxic masculinity and sexism. hoping for the day people realise all of this. i used to think that the gendered name calling thing in thai bls might be because of a cultural thing but a conversation i had with a thai friend has led me to believe otherwise.

I know shouldn't even be bothering but I get kinda annoyed because I finally find dramas about people like me and even that is taken over by people who refuse to listen to actual queer voices. Instead they have their own "opinion" (which isn't an opinion at all because they shouldn't be part of this discourse if they're not part of the group) and call themselves "allies" at the same time. The hypocrisy gets tiring.

When y'all realise that there is no woman in a gay relationship and no man in a lesbian relationship REGARDLESS of their sexual positions or who gets fucked by whom and referring to them that way is reinforcing heteronormative roles >>>>
Do you not see the problem? Maybe I'm bad at explaining because English isn't my first language but please, like I said in my first post, if people are angry or disappointed about it let them be angry

No no you didn't get my point. TharnType is a fictional couple written by a cishet woman. TharnType ain't real but gay people are. They can't feel uncomfortable because they're merely characters. And it's not about calling him a woman, it's about reenforcing heteronormative roles on a gay couple which is what my original point was as well.
What's the problem With calling Type " Wifey"? Me a "Girl" I don't have a problem with this Word between a Gay…
It's about fetishisation and heteronormativity. Please listen to queer people when we say we don't want heteronormative standards pushed on to gay couples. We all know that a majority of BL watchers are cishet women and since they are the target audience of most of these series, writers forcefully try to insert terms that will be enjoyable to them. I'm sick and tired of seeing the same old stuff. Please let people be upset when they keep having to deal with this in real life as well as in dramas which are supposedly supposed to "represent" us. If y'all stopped hyping this part up, the writers would stop doing it too. If people have a problem with those terms, let them complain because they have a good reason to do so.
maybe i'll watch the whole drama after my exams idk
