This is kind of an ignorant comment to make... Good for you you like the drama but people aren't being 'whiny'…
censorship* and I think maybe its because you spend too much time on here and not in real life but actually in Korea, BL is a very new and growing industry that 99% of the time is not broadcasted on mainstream networks. South Korea is not like China, there is no ban on showing LGBTQ themes so having such a heavy level of censorship is actually very sad and people like you supporting it are even sadder. I thought you were just being a bit of a moaner, but you actually do sound homophobic which is concerning because this media that you've enjoyed so much is actually queer whether its been removed from the show or not. Weirdo.
LMFAO this drama is LIT! Can't wait for the rest! Reminds me so much of "the dude inside me". I was wishing there…
This is kind of an ignorant comment to make... Good for you you like the drama but people aren't being 'whiny' that the bl aspect was removed, people are rightly upset that the only way this work could be made into a drama was to remove a pretty important part of the plot in the novel because of how conservative South Korea is. People care it was removed because it's censorship, which is never good anyway, but especially when theres already a huge lack of LGBTQ representation in mainstream South Korean media.
Can somebody who's read the manwha spoil it for me because I can't imagine what the drama will be for the final…
In the manhwa, Seunghyun applies for a permanent position on the team but doesnt get it. Jonghcan blames himself because he knows a lot of the people on the hiring committee dont like him and they know he is close to SH so they purposefully dont give him the position to spite JC. So JC goes to his boss and asks for a promotion that he was offered years ago and rejected, just so he can ask for a favour (getting SH a position in the company). However once the boss agrees to promote JC, he says that he cant hire anybody else until the next open recruitment. JC takes the position but doesnt tell SH anything, so obviously SH is confused why JC is suddenly moving teams when he knows he likes the team he is currently on. Then JC communicates with SH that the reason he is moving teams is because he has been given his own team, and during the next open recruitment he will then hire SH to be on his team so that they can work together again and SH can be a permanent staff member of the company.
Although its censored, I noticed this had a lot parallels between the Taiwanese film eternal summer. They had the theme song by mayday playing when the two characters first interact (Chen Zihao also mentions that Yang Yuhang loves that band so he started to like them too). Then the bike riding and the opening up on the beach also reminded me of eternal summer. This might not have been intentional but it definitely reminded me of that film, and for that reason I think if you look more into it they definitely hinted of their relationship in subtle ways.
SO....can someone give me a summary please? was the new restrictions against BL confirmed? should we give up?
They haven't made any new restrictions yet as far as I'm aware, but they did have a meeting where they mentioned they were 'against' the danmei live action 'trend', so its making people wonder if they're going to restrict them even further or ban them all together. They didn't mention anything in the post about banning them or any plans set in stone specifically. The only thing is there are currently 70 bl adaptations that have been filmed or set to film, so people think they might put a pause on airing any at all and then slowly after a few months put one out at a time. Also another bl adaptation recently got its licence to start filming this week I believe?? and TGCF live action was still filming yesterday so theres nothing to go off yet but its definitely not good to hear regardless.
