Here is my theory for the ending. The actor in the beginning is ML from the book. He kept criticizing the script in the beginning because it had 2nd princess and ML together. After she enters the script and experiences what happens, she eventually comes back to the real world and reunites with actor. Just a wild guess. I know it's a stretch.
