Overall, it was quite entertaining. However, for fans of revenge plots, this is not recommended.
Honestly, I can understand why some people were disappointed with the plot. But I think, if I were in Pai’s position, I might have done the same. As someone who grew up with a loving family, of course I wouldn’t give Tim a chance and would choose to put him in prison. But as Pai, whose life revolved only around work and who lacked proper love and affection, I can understand. Tim was the only person who could truly understand him and give him love. And during the time they were together, Tim didn’t do anything that seriously harmed Pai—except at the wedding party, when all of Tim’s lies were exposed, causing trauma and damage to Pai. But when Pai had nothing and his entire family turned away from him, only Tim stayed faithfully by his side. I’m not justifying it, but I understand why Pai forgave Tim so easily. Pai still loved Tim deeply and was simply disappointed.
Honestly, if the plot had been made a bit more serious, it might have turned out better. In the novel, even though Pai forgives Tim quickly, Tim’s sense of regret feels much stronger. But then again, what can you expect from a romantic comedy genre?
One thing that disappointed me a bit was some of the camera angles during the NC and kissing scenes—they were really frustrating, aarrrgghh.
And as for the ending, as usual, Alonew tends to make it feel rushed 😔
I’m really looking forward to a drama for Junior and Mark with a good director and a solid storyline that can truly bring out their potential. Their acting is very good—it’s just a shame that the plot often doesn’t support them. Especially Junior, I’d love to see him act in a darker genre without comedy.
