This is not for me, I reached episode 4 and I cannot stand more repetitive flashback (how many times do we have…
Same.
To your penultimate question on whether there is something redeemable, you will just have to wait until the last episode to find out. Because so far, there is none. It's meh.
My Demon is so cliché-y that it is one cheesy dialog short of cringey! But it's so unapologetic in its mawkish romanticism that I could actually get behind it.
I mean, "you are my fate that I cannot deny,' has to be the corniest line ever. But it works; it has heart, and it has humor, and much to my astonishment, I found myself rooting for Do Hee and Gu Won.
My Demon does not pretend to be anything other than a silly romcom, so if one does not watch it through an intellectual lens (it never claimed to be an 'Oppenheimer' in the first place), then it's actually an enjoyable watch during the lazy holidays.
I really like this drama but yet again, the writers can't write an interesting second female lead character. Jin…
Your take on Jin Ga Young is on point. She serves no other purpose other than be an antagonist, as though there was a checklist for a KDrama plot and she was item no 3. That’s just lazy writing.
It's one of the favorite Kdrama tropes, FL in pain and crying, ML coddling FL....it's literally the most used…
Not arguing with that, but then there's comfort and there's coddling. ML's devotion to the FL in WTS is a tad too much. He should spend some of that energy doing something with his life. He's cute and compassionate, but he strikes me as a rocket that failed to launch.
I've had it with Samdal's crying and Yongpil's constant coddling of Samdal. It's getting ridiculous. They should rename this drama to Welcome to Sobbing-ri.
I'm waiting until all the episodes are out but how is it compared to Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha so far?
Personally, I found Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha much more enjoyable! Both have excellent ML and FL, I would say. Cinematography, roughly the same, but in terms of pacing, and ML and FL chemistry, WTS and HCCC are oceans apart. WTS storytelling is flimsy and relies solely on cinematography and the FL's unbelievable ability to burst into tears. The ML is forgettable (JCW is charming, but the material given to him is meh).
Before someone comes for me and copy pastes the same epistle about how this isn't a revenge drama, how is it that…
For what it's worth, I share your thoughts @rozzzol. The FL started out really strong, and then one setback (albeit a terrible one), and she's reduced to a snowflake. I'm done with the endless whining and wailing.
Read this in Chandler's tone: Can she do anymore sobbing? I mean seriously, enough with the self-pity party. It's getting old. The FL can cry, I get it. Now, let's get the story moving.
This is a lesson in visual arts trickery. Two beautiful leads with excellent chemistry, and an amateurish narrative. Good looks cannot save a whimsical plot.
That was awfully nice of them to end episode 10 that way. It could have been a cliffhanger! But all this lovey-dovey stuff tells me doomsday is coming.

Also, you are not the authority on this KDrama. Get over yourself. Everyone is entitled to their own views.
And no, I dont see how this is a healing drama. I think the flimsy plot hides behind that label 'healing drama.'
