that's really beautiful. I love romance and I love the chemistry between the mains. however, I think a lot is missed. I wish they would emphasize some of those sweet moments from the book.
I don't know what to make of the mom and daughter relationship. I just know that they both are alike. stubborn to the end. I would love to see more happy scenes between daughter and mom. today is the first positive thing in there relationship. everything else so far seems to be misinterpreted or badly timed.

I agree with you 100%%%%%%. how dare she suggest concubining..lol but I would honestly like to see her engaged to ys next just for the bickering and he's super arrogant. do you know if he ends up with her cousin? I honestly think the new ZHJ will treat LY better. she will fight for him in that horrid family. but I also want her to have a better life. ZHJ has been through a lot.

First its not an argument. just an opinion. I am in no way saying that the general family should have two rewards. I was only saying that both families have done well for the empire. that was the point. And I also put in my msg that she has been rewarded with the title of lady as you mentioned previously. I don't believe she should have the ability to force a an engagement to end as part of that reward. I agree that the general (ZHJ father) could have let the prince have it all but he showed loyalty to the empire. That's exemplary. Nobody here is doubting that this was a great moment. I only said that the family did not research the new marriage prospect and let their daughter leave for a someone who is seemingly better. (I will say that the ending of their engagement was both their faults. ZHJ really wanted a different type of man. Yao could have been stronger in a lot of aspects in my opinion)
Victim blaming? Im following the story. She left her fiancé for a better prospect and dated that prospect while she was still engaged. This was stated in the episode where Yan and ZHJ had an argument after she was caught with the prince. Now, my issue is that we wan to give everything to a woman who left willingly. though she did not expect this to happen, we must accept the outcomes of our decisions bad or good. And she did make the decision. NOBODY forced her to choose the prince.
That's the only point that I am trying to make in this discussion. So in sum...yes I agree she should be rewarded, her family is loyal but....I disagree on ending an engagement for that loyalty. She even had the nerve to say that css took her man. lastly if the engagement is broken then css family does need some form of comp. Ill say this again. This is all just my opinion. other than the facts from the show.

CSS family fought just as bravely. the only difference is that they didn't die. instead, the mom had to give up her daughter...though that was the mother in laws fault. I am sorry that HZJ had to loose her whole family except her little brother. Still, I hate to say that she borrowed trouble but she did. We are all forgetting how she was at the start. She thought that the prince was a better option and had no issue courting him before her engagement was even broke. She and her family did not research the new engagement. They just assumed the prince was loyal. Those types of assumptions are what caused the family to pass away. I didn't say she did not deserve the Lady title. Her family fought hard. I just think that's as far as it should go given the way the situation evolved. While the Princess title is my wishful thinking, the family should be compensated in some capacity iff she does give up the engagement.

I think the same. she should know all her daughter really wants from her is attention and understanding. whenever the mother gives an ounce to the daughter she's allover it.like today when the mother stood up for her. the daughter didn't hesitate to have the moms back either...I was proud

more than strong, he needs someone who has political power...that army is everything. css doesn't have anything near that despite her families merits. tbh, he loves that someone finally saw him as worthy. I think the other girl will treat him better than she did before bc she now knows what it is like to be helpless.
