Do you need to watch previous Garo shows or movies to understand this one?
it references the end of Makai Senki (ie, season 2), and similarly doesn't dilly-dally with explaining how characters are connected to each other, but would probably still be enjoyable on its own
Does anyone know where to watch it with english subs?
TV-N stands for tvnihon (all one word)... I'd link properly, but I don't want to attract too much attention, if you know what I mean. They have tons of toku, though :3

I don't know if you've found what you were looking for yet, but TV-N posted subs for the first two episodes of both the original Korean and the Japanese dub
I don't know if anyone said it yet, but he actually does have a twitter account! It's mostly run by a manager from his staffing agency (from what I can tell, they handle all the guys' accounts, and I've only seen Fukushi post on his maybe once or twice in the time I've been following him)
anyway, it's fukushi_staff ...and the feed is frequently quiet, but then as soon as an information ban has been lifted, there's a veritable torrent on the timeline ^_^;;
In case anyone's thinking about starting this series, they're airing a remastered version right now, and it seems both subbing groups are picking it up :)
thanks for the review, I'm even more excited to see it it now!
as for the manga's third arc... I've been holding out for a proper adaptation of it (obviously the anime didn't do it)... but I think it's either never gonna happen, or it may take someone deciding to continue this trilogy before we see it :/
I really liked Fujita Ray in this role in the main Garo series, so I was really excited to see this happen! A couple episodes so far have subtitles (I've only watched one, at this point), and it looks like it's gonna be a good mini-series :)
I would love to see one of these done for tokusatsu series... it seems Toei keeps going back to a handful of areas, to the point where we as adult fans have started calling them "toku warehouse", "toku quarry", etc XD
so is this anything like absolute boyfriend or cyborg girl?
I was worried about the "Absolute Boyfriend" thing myself... but after one episode, it doesn't seem to be quite emphasizing all of those themes. At least... not as strongly as the other series was.
I'm honestly hoping it sticks more to explaining why Reiji died, and why Asahi is under attack, and leaves the romance as a cute side thread
Watched it and it was good but man, do I hate open endings when they pretend to kill off the people you like.
I think there might be a couple movies in between, but they're side stories. It's fine to watch this next, and if you like the franchise you should definitely watch the newest season.
