I think the irony of it all is that if the police chief had even attempted to do the right thing, he wouldn't have had to do anything because his son wasn't guilty of either the rape or the murder. But he was so rotten that he didn't even ask his son a single question and just went straight into jealous/ envy mode.
I loved how they were able to show that Ha Seol learned something valuable throughout her 'overly nosy' activities in Mucheon and tie that to her own situation. I felt like it was nudging us the viewers, to not let go of our dignity as humans. Overall, a 10/10 show. I had some gripe with it, but not enough to remove a single point from it.
Really a great watch to start the year with!

True, especially the very rewarding payback to the villains and revenge aspect. I thought of the Korean one mostly because just like FL lead here, the FL in The Glory spends some time preparing/ planning for the revenge, and also learning about their characteristics.

You could try sinful marriage if you haven't yet. That's what led me to this one. The fallen lady returns has been good so far as well.

All I can think of while watching episode 10 is 'May this parental "care" never find me'. I love how this series almost makes you feel sorry for the villains, and then in the next scene you're like "nope, you're still batshit crazy and vile".
I was experiencing this whiplash a lot with the crazy cousin arc, and her comeuppance was spectacularly done. But nah, for the wife, I do not intend to feel an ounce of sympathy.
I literally can't stop clicking next to see what's next. I haven't felt this much anticipation while watching an airing mini series since Dominion and Devotion. I also can't help feeling similarities with the Glory (Korean), especially with how she took her time to plan and study them.

I absolutely love Prince Annan's wardrobe. And Cheng Lei is owning the look 100%😍. The last time someone pulled off this leather look for me was Luo Yunxi as the demon lord in TTEOTM.

Yep very alone! He could have honored his son's wish, but like the nicompoop he is, he orchestrated the whole thing so she'd come back. I mean, in the end, it was her choice, but he more or less manipulated her so no, I wouldn't give him daddy of the year.

Same!!!!! It was until after the hunting scene when all princes were lined up did I realise they were two different people. I kept getting confused why the prince had a swept up hair-do and a the half up, half down hairdo in the very next scene.
I was so confused during that whole plot when the chancellor went to rescue the miners because I thought the prince who helped her escape was thesame person she went to warn🤦🏿‍♀️ Had to rewatch it when I realised they were 2 people.

Now I'm getting better at telling them apart.

Lol yeah true. I liked him in FEUD as the funny father. For me, I think I was able to switch more easily between Blossoming love and moonlight was because the actor's characters were styled much differently with distinct background stories. Here, the emperors hairdo and clothes are a bit too similar.

It's almost jarring having the same dude play the emperor in two ongoing dramas.
I always have to mentally switch my brain when I move between A Dream Within a Dream and here, especially when he's talking to or about his sons.

The only person I think that has come close to this level of angst, where you want to kill the FL and almost wish the ML would give up on her, is SiFeng from Love and Redemption. At one point, I truly didn't want them together anymore. Still, I liked that she had to work a bit to earn his trust back. I hope they make this FL work hard to NF trust/ love back.
I feel so agrieved for him. At the beginning, I understood her fear and 'hatred', but right now this is just pure torture. At this point, she's almost coming off as more two-dimensional than the characters in the script. She has never once seen things from his point of view. It's always her calling him names without a shred of empathy and it's becoming tiring. I'm really holding on to see how it all unfolds, but at the moment, I'm not satisfied with the story direction at all.

I eventually finished it. It's really not all that scary. It's just presented creepily especially the earlier episodes. It's more of a thriller than horror in retrospect so you can still check it out.

For those who are asking about the show, I'm 2 episodes in and it's creepy. Like good creepy for a horror genre, especially for a short series like this. As Queen Spring Day mentioned in her comment, the production quality is also quite good and looks like it should be for a longer-form series.

I'll suggest trying it out if you're mainly hesitating because of low comments. I might not finish it because I don't watch horror as I can easily get anxious while watching some scenes (Which is super weird as I grew up in love with horror movies, but I just reached an age where I couldn't take it anymore and something like this which isn't even too horrific if I'm being honest can get my heart rate pumping), but I'll do my best until the end. Or until my heart tells me to give up. Hopefully, it keeps being good

I can listen to this man talk for hours... how is his voice so soothing? I think he uses his voice in his shows because I also loved listening to him talk in In Blossom and Kill Me Love me. All this to say I'm semi-hooked because of his voice😂
And his redemption arc better be rock solid because I'm here trying to reason how they'll justify him apathetically watching everything happening without lifting a hand.

Hearing this news was really devastating and shocking. I don't profess to be a stan or fan of any particular actress or actor, but I watch the shows with a premise that just maybe they might be decent human beings in real life.

Because I don't know if anyone can relate, but hearing about someone being part of something like this, and you enjoyed their show, just leaves an almost dirty feeling that I supported the person in some way. I know it's not rational but this is the way I felt when different scandals broke out and it was revealed that the people I enjoyed watching just turned out to be something my brain can't even comprehend.

The first time I encountered a similar situation was when the burning sun scandal broke out, I had to take a break from K-world because I just couldn't fathom I watched someone who was involved in that mess. Then I came back and then there was the whole Ji Soo (the male actor) bullying scandal which was bad. And then host of others and I keep coming back but this one... I think this is it. I just might take a final break from K world. Now the C world isn't a bed of roses but my goodness it almost feels like the depravity emanating from the K world is on another level.

Maybe I might come back but for now, I truly think I'm done. I don't need actors and actresses to be saints, but just like Momo wrote in their comment: is it really that hard to be rich and famous but live a compassionate, kind - normal life, without doing unnecessary harm to anyone?

I'm just really sorry for all the Kim Sae Ron faced. This whole situation is truly unfortunate for her, being taken advantage of from that young age. And I'm almost scared to follow this story to the bitter end, but if he is as guilty as painted then I hope she gets justice.

With the amount of abs shown in each episode and almost every series he appears in, Dia Gao Zheng's abs should be a cast member at this point.

At this point, I don't know who has it worse between Tantai Jin from TTEOTM and Su Yushui...like everything just keeps working against them.

I wish the soul oath also included Mu Ranwu not hurting Ranran in any way because Ranwu is such a ridiculous small-minded pea-brained character. I have to give it up to the two actresses...they really make me utterly hate the character in equal doses. my hatred easily transferred after they switch and it's growing with each episode
