Aaron Yan has too much eyeliner on, not that he needs it, I think he's good-looking enough even without makeup. But wearing such thick black eyeliner just make him looks too plastic, they need a new makeup artist !
I really like the title of your article. "Exercise in Anxiety". This is basically me when I watch any Chinese drama because they are so long and I never know what will happen. This drama was recommended to me by my cousin and I absolutely loved it! Besides the storyline, the chemistry between the leads was the best part.
It is very inspiring to see how everyone gets along, care for each other and have fun. The positive energy radiates out. I think the audience feel it as well. They have a good time and so do we. I am saying that because I don’t see that happening in many other movies or shows, including those from Hollywood. I love the fact that the language is very clean as well. (No F words. Thank you.) Maybe that is why I am so surprised that I come across this drama. Way to go! Keep up with the excellent work!
Finally was able to finish this. And this is the worst lead character development I have seen in C-dramas. Dingding, until the very end remained stupid spending her time to be with Chen Xun and disregarding everything else. So is her deep love with that ex? And what adds to that is the fact that the lead actress acts so awkwardly, she finds it hard to show proper emotions.
All the other actors are fine but the story, dialogues and plot progression are really awful. Imagine, there are many other employees in Chen Xun's company, his relatives, parents, Zixin, they could have made some time to be with him after a day or two, but the writer chose Dingding, and only Dingding to have the time. And when Dr. Ning went abroad, why can't Dingding contact him when she is the one who hurt him. This is in contrast with how she treats Chen Xun, she is proactive every time.
Well, good job writer for ruining this series. All those unrealistic parts can be forgiven a bit if they didn't end up together, because your main theme is deep love, but DIngding never showed it to the male lead! Bad bad...
As someone who has been battling with clinical depression since I was 14 and I'm now 27, it doesn't just fade away. It keeps at you and tries to pull you back into it every time that things get a little too much and you start to lose focus of life in front of you.
People who go through depression are expected by people still these days to just "suck it up and get over it" - which is what some people have told me I should in recent years to do, since the death of my sister in 2015, who I found in her bedroom passed away in her sleep due to heart failure (cardiomyopathy), tried to resuscitate her and then had to go tell my mother while phoning my dad that their daughter is dead. You wouldn't expect a person who has gone through that to just "suck it up".
It hurts more that people think we - the suffers of depression - can just drop it and it suddenly just goes. It is like a ball and chain which attaches to you and it only frees you at a certain point in two ways. 1. You either get the key which frees you to live life a better way and things are getting better for that moment. Or 2. You decide enough is enough and commit suicide.
Honestly, this is such tragic news and it just goes to prove yet again that the entertainment industry and being famous isn't always what people imagine it to be. Actresses, singers, entertainers - whoever in this industry - at the end of the day are the same as everyone else. They're humans and have emotions, feelings and problems like we all do. But when you add on the fact that for them, they are a face that people expect to just smile... it gets pressure added to them.
I truly wish that this beautiful lady rests in peace and I feel deeply upset for her family because I can relate to the pain depression gives and how uneasy it is to escape it.
