They do get married. I don't know the part about them getting a child though. Maybe they did. The reason as to why I know that they did get married is because in the novel of "A love so beautiful" they have a appearance. Both novels are from the same writer. In the novel of "A love so beautiful" Si Tu Mo is Chen Xiao Xi coworker and Fu Pei is their boss. Si Tu Mo mentions that she is married and her husband is Gu Wei Yi. Their novel is indeed not translated as far as I know. But the novel of "A love so beautiful" is translated and I read it. That's how I came to find out. And that is actually why these too novels are connected with each other. But they changed a few things in the drama versions. Which is why they can be seen as two separate plots.

I have to agree with you on the "fastforward" part. Everything was happening to fast. But I mostly think its because they are trying to cover as much of the story as possible in one movie of 1hr and 44 min. And that is a lot. But yes, it was going way to fast. Its not bad. But I don't know. It misses something. You hardly get the time to connect with the characters. I do have to disagree on the Irie kun part. I don't think he is that bland. In my opinion he is warming up to Kotoko little by little by his actions. And about him being disinterested, that is just how his character is suppose to be. His poker face game is on fleek. You can never tell what he is thinking or feeling. Plus, since he is a genius that can do almost everything, he gets bored easily. Have you read the manga? That Irie is the worst. You could never tell that he was interested in Kotoko. I think that Sato Kanta is doing a great job portraying Naoki. I do miss a little more action from Naoki's mom. In the manga and in other adaptation she is much more involved.
