I know that a lot of people aren't impressed with Song Hye Kyo's acting in this drama or in general but personally, I love it. She's just a ''natural'' in my opinion. A lot of acting in kdrama is often over the top, even in serious dramas such as this one but I've always felt that her acting came across as very natural, subtle and realistic. Her characters seems like ''real persons'' instead of characters. Anyway. I expected to really like this drama but I have to admit that I never expected to love it like I do. I love every character, both couples, the music, everything. I'll admit that there isn't that much of a ''main story'' and it's more a character driven drama than anything else but I'm really loving every minute of it. I just wish that the second couple had a little more screentime. I love them and their relationship but I feel like we barely knows both of them as characters and as a couple so I hope the next episodes (I'm only at episode 7) will give us a little more background on these two(instead of just a couple of quick flashbacks from their relationship).
I'm currently watching the first episode and I have to say, I'm happy to finally see an actress speaking french…
My pleasure! It caught me off guard because usually when I hear french in a drama (kdrama, jdrama or tdrama), I needs the english subs because I can only understand a couple of words, wich is ironic since I understand french way better than english lol. But it's true, her english sounds amazing too wich isn't surprising since she's from the US but it still nice to hear because with a lot of other actors and idols who grew up in the US, their english got a little ''awkward'' after spending so much time in Korea.
I'm currently watching the first episode and I have to say, I'm happy to finally see an actress speaking french so well in a drama (french is my first language). Her pronunciation is pretty on point!
I really want to like Seo Kang Joon as an actor (because he's so attractive and has such a unique face) but every character I've seen him play annoyed me so much and after a few episodes of this drama, it looks like this will be the case once again.
Arghh. I knew it. All of why I didn't want to start this drama was because I was scared that it would be too silly and the other half was because I was sure that they'd kill the cat in the end. Yes, all animals end up dying. But my cat is 19 years old and I already know that while she's still very heathly, she doesn't have many years in front of her and I really don't feel finishing this drama now. Why do kdrama always chose the melodrama ending. Okay maybe not always but still.
If Taek ends up being the husband (and yes, I still don't think he will), I'm still waiting for his personality transplant because him and the hudband are two totally persons.
I'm not gonna lie...When I first heard of this drama, I thought it sounded silly and kind of ''stupid'' and that it wouldn't be my type of drama at all. Then I remembered that I'm a crazy cat lady and decided to watch the first episode and I'm not even done watching the first episode yet and I'm loving it. It's so cute and heartwarming. I'm not ashamed to admit that I was wrong about this drama!
I have the feeling that Taek is the main lead while jung hwan will end up the second one.
Based on Reply 1994 and 1997, I also don't think so but to be honest, even if I had never seen them, I'd still think that the main lead is Jung hwan, at least when it comes to the romance with Deok Sun because I feel like all the characters are ''main'' characters when it comes to the general plot in this drama.
Honeslty, I feel like just like in Reply 1997 and Reply 1997, all the ''clues'' leading people to believe that the second lead is the husband, are just tricks by the writters to play with us. In Reply 1997 and 1994 I based my prediction of the interaction between the characters and none of the clues and I got it right both times. While I really like Taek, I really can't see him as the husband. Yes, people can change when they become adult but in this case, we're not talking about just changes. ''If'' he's the husband, then he became a whole different person. His habits, his body langage, the way he talks...Everything is different. We're already half way through the drama and it's too late to make me believe that DS could go from protecting and caring for Taek like a mother to see him as a man. Just the scene where she bites him in the present... But anyway, while I don't see Taek as the husband for 1 second, I hope we'll still see more of him and see him come into own and find happiness.
I'm not gonna lie, I really don't like Henry's character, only because I feel his acting is not natural and is way too over the top but I love the moments when So Ji Sub imitate him lol.
I don't understand why people think Jung Hwan is the second lead... Up to now, in all the Reply series we had,…
I agree. To me, it's pretty obvious that Jung Hwan is the main lead and that Taek is the second lead (that won't get the girl on the end). Sun Woo is not involved in the triangle, they let people think that he was for the first few episodes as a plot twist but he's not part of the triangle in the end. Yes DS likes him now but it's more like a crush than anything and it had more to do with the fact that she thought he liked her than anything, really.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm relieved that Sun Woo likes Bora and the triangle is actually Jung Hwan- Deok Sun-Taek because I like Taek and think he's a sweet boy and wish that he'll find happiness, I know that I won't root for him to be with DS and that makes me sort of happy because at least I won't feel torned watching the rest of the drama just like I did in the first four episodes lol.
I'm not gonna lie. I'm watching episode 3 and I just shed a tear when that lady bring the corn with the money for Deok Sun's overnight trip. I love that Deok Sun'as mom didn't even have to ask. I love all the parents and their friendship as much as I love the children.
