My first three dramas were Full House, Coffee Prince and Devil Beside You, in that order. But my love story actually started when I met Rain in Ninja Assassin. Ooohh, my goodness!!! I couldn't take my eyes off of him, I was sooo infatuated...
I thought, "Who is this man, and WHY I've never heard about him before!" I decided to find out more about him and learned that he also starred in Speed Racer. So I watched that too, but I was a little disappointed when it turned out to be just a small role. I was hungry and I wanted more. Unfortunately for me, there was none. By then, I learned that he was Korean and was actually pretty famous there. A Korean Rap and R&B singer!!! o.O
And if I were to quote Megan Fox,"A Korean Justin Timberlake". How do you rap in Korean?? I had no idea what was Kpop at that time. But my point is, my eyes were opened, and my horizons expanded.
I never knew that the Asian entertainment industry was so huge. Still, it was with some misgivings that I started watching Full House. After all, up until then, all of my impressions of Asian movies was that they were either weird and goofy or over the top and very depressing. But my need to see Rain again won me over, and before I knew, I found myself at four in the morning watching episode 7 and wondering how zombielike I was going to be come dawn. But there I was, laughing so hard my belly ached and crying piteously along with them. And totally, undeniably hooked!
I really cannot say that it took more than one drama to get me addicted. Rain and Full House was actually all that was really necessary. After that, I was off, like a freight train with no breaks. Rediscovering Animes, mangas... And of course, their fun packed live action adaptations.
