FL was in an accident and woke up with a concussion so she probably didn’t have time to change her clothes.…
Thank you. That makes sense re the censorship. The FL played a great part. I hope in most work places you wouldn’t be expected to go back to work after you’ve been knocked out - but I can see it adds to their meeting on the stairs. . She looked very vulnerable.
I really enjoyed watching this. A good fun romp. Great chemistry between the two leads. Loved the otter and snake too. My only quibble was the last episode. The costumes in the fantasy world were fantastic but the FL’s looked like she’d be drawn through a hedge backward for a business meeting in the modern world. Did wardrobe run out of money. Also, I understand the Chinese censorship re time travel when in depicts real history but why in fantasy land? Perhaps someone can explain.
The biggest issue in SK at the moment in the trial and possible impeachment of their president. There is civil unrest. Celebrity scandals in any country knock the real issues off the front pages. These are dark times indeed!
I am so pleased there is a film version of this book. It’s a great read and so positive to see a main lead as a woman in her 60s. I know the musical PAGWA was staged in Seoul last year. Kim Jae Wook was one of the actors who played Bullfighter, the main antagonist. I hope it gets picked up and subbed in English.
Love this series. Only a couple of things irk me apart for ageism. The pink back pack is a constant giveaway and why, if Im Sun looks like her aunt wasn’t Mi Jin’s mother happy as she has been hoping for Im Sun’s return. The woman Im Sun worked with in the bank recognised her?

I’ve given up on this until the last episode as I want to see some plot development. . It’s like the worse kind of British soap opera and I don’t watch those. I did however follow Im Soo Yang and have just watched Graceful Family on Viki. Another family saga but much more dynamic and she plays a strong FL. All done in 16 episodes. I will keep a watch on the comments though, just in case something interesting happens.
I am enjoying some elements of this but I am struggling with the amount of domestic abuse. Is the regard for seniority in Korea such that grown adults accept taking a beating from their elders? I found it particularly distressing when the mother slapped her vulnerable daughter across the face. The male support characters seem very placid when compared to the women! How much of this is dramatic license?
