I have a questions, I wanted to watch japanese romance drama which is not potrayed in high school. Then I decided to watch this and kakafukaka.. Is it a typical in Japanese drama to have a FL who seemed hard to say no and prone to being lead on? Does anyone have recommendation adult drama that has strong FL character? After watch those two dramas b2b it seemed like I have to drop any potential japanese drama in the future if this is what to expect. Those FL seemed has no character at all.. and very frustrating to watch. I still remember Minami from Long Vacation and yes it's been long since I watched japanese drama. Is it a trend nowadays to have lost and shy and no backbone FL?

No wonder I don't get why suddenly she's among those received the commendations. If it's for whole squad 9 members then surely XYJ would received as well since he's injured and cannot go to Red Scorpion base but still part of the squad. Thanks for your answer. It explains a lot.

Please don't get me wrong, I also thinks the same, it was a trip that should last forever, yet present HD doesn't remember it at all.. curious.. the drama writing has a lot to explain to its viewers.

Can someone explain why the female sniper trainer (leng jing?) got the rank promotion along with the other squad 9 members while she's not even go to the battlefield at the operation red scorpion on ep 40? or did I miss something and she's actually at the battlefield?

Nothing specific, just in general. In his future projects list nothing seems excites me except Shao Nian Bai Ma Zui Chun Feng. But idk of it's confirmed yet.

I saw your comment somewhere, when did NJH said about YJ not commit suicide? I hate the suicide theory, at one time I think I would feel better if YJ died in NY but not because of suicide.. that's to tragic.

Ugh come to think about it. What HD did was awful to someone who currently suffers from depression. It's almost like cut off his life line. Why HD why???

I still grieve. Thank you for those who willing to discussed about this drama and its unsatisfactory ending. You've all become like my support group. More than one month and I still cannot watch any korean drama..

Divorced or not, present HD is clearly unhappy, still cling to the break up with YJ (hence the last scene where he went to the tunnel after read YJ notes on her lost diary), and seemed indifferent to when her mom mention YJ (I agree with you, her mom trying to invoke sth when she mentioned YJ). Like she's trying hard to forget everything including their times at the beach.. (come on how could you forget that SUMMER? Her only outing at high school, with her friends, and best friend. No way you could forget that moment completely). Thus, she cut contact with her friends as well.

The mom is supportive with YJ and she knows HD resentments towards her. That is why she asked her at the car if she's ok with YJ being busy and I think that's triggering HD to her trauma and she starts questioning her relationship with YJ. Although ppl said that she's right to confront what's she's not like, imho she's running away by breaking up at their first fight which could solved by communicating. I was sad seeing her saying those harsh words at the tunnel. It's like she's protecting herself from being hurt by YJ by hurting YJ. That's not HD that we know.

I think HD decided to get marriage in a rush.. timeline wise like in 2005-2006. Present HD puzzled me. She loves fencing, yet shows no love remaining in present time. She's busy with her shop as carpenter? Her child knows nothing about her past friends including Yurim whose supposed to be her bff. She still suffers from abandonment trauma with her mother (the scene after they get their yearly med-check) even after reconciling with her mother years ago. At least during her time break up with YJ her mother stays with her at the hospital.. imagine what happened to her after the reality of broke up with YJ sinks in..

IMHO, the drama itself owes KTR and NJH potrayal as HD and YJ. Maybe with that writing, if the characters played by other actor and actress, we won't be here feeling betrayed since we were rooting so much for KTR HD and NJH YJ. The drama itself would be just another sports drama.
KTR deserves her Baeksang. Too bad the writing makes this drama ended not on high notes that even KTR herself thinks that HD and YJ need better ending.

If my traumatic memory from the last 2 episodes serves me right, YJ finally letting HD go after he read that lost diary and learnt how HD feels unhappy during his time abroad. YJ that always wants only the best thing for HD, take that HD is no longer get the best from him. Although he himself is beaten mentally and physically, like he said, he is the one who will take care of the bad things. I could not remember the exact words he said to cutie pie at the hotel lobby, cmiiw.
Until that, I still have glimmer of hope that they will realize that what HD said they are only couple on happy times are false. As we experienced together, they met at their lowest point in life, when they were facing that stairs. They picked each other up and together they ascend to reach their dreams. But then comes the last break up and here we are..

Present HD doesn't have enough pull for me. I can't even imagine other actress/actor could deliver this great, if it's not KTR and NJH played HD and YJ as they did.

At this point, one month after the show ended yet my anger still lingering. I thank God, the drama did not nominated for the Best screenplay at Baeksang 2022, because if it is, it would justifies the crime.

For someone who literally experiencing trauma after watching the last 2 episodes, those writings are explaining why I feel this way. The first post has taken my feeling word by word. I really need a 'support group' since no one around me thinking the ending was odd.. they say "well ,that's realistic" and thinking my not-so-fun cycle of thoughts are just another set of drama withdrawal. But no, the way the writer ended Baekdo couple is betrayal of their characters and the pain I feel is real. So glad to read my rumination, in words. Thanks for the compilation <3
