Oh my Lord! the cruelty! Someone feed Lanxi's dad to the wolves please. I need him dead and rotting.
When he talked to Lanxi the first time after everything settled down and he informed him that he will be his heir, there was a part where he said "I'm old now and the people that passed away keep visiting me". I was like "Good. You should go with them" 🤣🤣
This is also why I'm hesitant to watch it. I've been putting it off for so long even though I heard great reviews…
Same! I feel like when the drama has sad endings and I didn't know, I wanna hit someone 😂 that's why now before I watch a drama I go here and read reviews...
Should I be watching this before Forever and ever drama? I was 10mins in the Forever and ever drama when I decided to look at the actors profile. I got curious at the rating of this drama because it's high. I watched the trailer and saw that Forever and ever is a sequel to this drama. Should I watch this first? It looks like a 😥 story...
I've just finished watching this a few minute ago (I know I'm way behind). What can I say? I've been a fan of Zhao Lusi since I watched Untouchable lovers (that's the first time I saw her). I didn't like her character there (she was evil there) but that just proves that she's a great actress and afterwards, I've watched her dramas. As for the main lead I've only seen him in the drama Heavenly Sword dragon sabre and nothing else.
1. Although their age gap is supposedly 15yrs, their chemistry is very good. Their expressions are on point especially the comedic part. It's a laugh out loud drama (at least for me). I found myself laughing out loud with their antics.
2. It has no unnecessary break ups. I must say that's one of the things I don't like that in cdramas. The 'I-don't-want-her-to-get-hurt-so-i'll-break-up-with-her' reason. It's a really stupid reason to break up along with the 'I-have-to-protect-her-so-i'll-break-up-with-her' break up. There are a couple of misunderstandings but it was resolve fairly quickly.
3. IT WAS A TEST! Sorry, I'm still not over that. Unfortunately, it's also a drama with the hateful 'mother in-law'. Although the male lead protected the female lead, the mother is just too much. She did everything to get her to know that they don't belong together. That they don't match. Alas, after the exhausting physical AND mental torture she said it was a test in the end. I was gobsmacked to say the least.
4. Third parties. They had the usual cliche. Both leads had another person liking them respectively. But what I liked was as soon as both third parties has been turned down by the leads, they moved on. There was no delusions that if they stick around and made a mess the leads will like them back. Nothing like that. The third parties here bowed gracefully when they've been rejected.
5. ACTING CHILDISH! I've read quite a few comments here that they found her acting childish especially towards the few last episode. On the contrary, she acted accordingly. Bare in mind, the little brother was using her and playing the victim in front of her. The female lead wanted the male lead and the little brother to make amends so in her point of view she was just trying to help and nothing more. Whereas the male lead is jealous (he admitted it too). There was a scene there where the male lead punched the little brother and the female lead sided with the little brother. That's because from her point of view the male lead is out of line. The little brother was playing the victim in front of her and she doesn't know what the little brother has been telling the male lead (like he likes her and she also likes him) behind her back. If people are in her position they would do the same. The only difference is people are watching the scenes and knows what's going on, on both sides that's why they are quick to judge her as childish.
All in all, it's a good drama. Cliches are used here and there but it's still more decent than other cdramas out there.
any recommendation on cdramas that are as intimate as this? you rarely get to see cdramas with this much intimacy…
So far I've only watched (with same intimacy level) My Little Happiness. I don't know if you've seen it. Ironically, the leads in that cdrama are also in the drama Put your head on my shoulder. The same drama with the male lead in this drama.
