Wasn't this drama originally 16 episodes? The wait each week for next episode is already killing me LOL.
Yes, I noticed that too. I hope it is only 16. :)

Title Introverted Boss Spoiler
SO I just heard that there was alot of complaints about the show and changes were needed, hence the reason why…
I'm conflicted with episode 5 as well. I would like to see an actual real relationship build between the leads if this is labelled as romance but that will take time after the revenge mess in first 4 episodes.

To me it looks like they used episode 5 as a filler episode to gain more time to straighten out the girls character for future episodes since she was pretty immature. Hopefully they will use her little revenge act as a reason to have her wake up from her chaotic way of thinking. She needs to start thinking logically and maturely about what really happened to her sister if she truly wants to get answers.

i have been looking to read the book but only found chap 165 is th last one. can anybody tells me if the book…
I have been reading it and it is still being translated into English as far as I know. We at least get a new chapter posted each week where I found it. I added the link at the end of this comment where the new chapters are being added.

From what I understood the story is divided into about 7 parts and chapter 165 the end of part 5. I saw somewhere its 258 chapters so its less than 100 chapters that still need to be translated. (Hopefully) We are almost to the end T.T

I have enjoyed the story. The drama version added a lot of things that didn't happen and changed things around, but that is expected.

Link to Chapter 1-68: (the way the chapters are numbered here is a little confusing)

I want to start this drama, but what is it actually about?
I did hear someone describe it as the latest in the Flower Boy drama series with a historical setting. LOL guess that could be true.

Definitely made me cry. T.T I don't get it, but I think I do.

Title One More Time Spoiler
Definitely made me cry. T.T I don't get it, but I think I do.
Yeah, i figured they never met but was more or less curious how the daily cycle ended. Was it because he was able to give her a goodbye song as a gift? To make it more complicated I was wondering if his father ended up dying for his son's happiness. Like trading his own life so that his son would stop having to die with the girl each day.

How is the drama Love Me If You Dare related to this drama? I had put it on-hold.
I believe they are also set in the same "world". I read a couple of side stories from author that were included with Love Me if You Dare novel where the couples from each one even meet and make mention of each other.

Just out of curiosity: how close is this to the book. Are there alot of differences?
It's still being translated. But I would say about more than half is done.

It's worth reading just to see how Ji Bai can be very affectionate while still being an awesome investigator.

I don't understand why people are saying they are jumping from one case to another. From the episodes I have…
It's nice Snail drama focuses on cases, but they really leave out how they grow closer as Ji Bai personally trains Xu Xu each morning and also helps her develop as a detective. So the way he constantly brought up her leaving at end of 3 months in drama if she doesn't pass physical training drives me crazy.

Oh I agree about Vampire Detective! For being a spinoff of Vampire Prosecutor I was a bit disappointed in the cases. I felt the lead didn't even talk most of the drama. Some romance would have helped make it more interesting.

If you like dramas with cases that involve criminal profiling I would recommend Evil Minds. It's a really great Chinese web drama that doesn't need to focus on romance to make it more interesting.

I'm sure I was one of main people complaining LOL. I am trying not to compare it to the novel anymore but it is hard since I read it recently.

I really look forward to see how the second half of drama will go, but I've just been confused since the order of cases being solved was changed to speed up the story. This change really slowed the progress in the romance between Ji Bai and Xu Xu.

Also a big difference is Ji Bai was not best friends with Ye Zi Xi. That girl was kind of Xu Xu's friend after she met her during blade case in the novel.

If you enjoy this drama then I recommend another drama adaptation from the same author called "Love Me if You Dare". That drama was great and followed the novel flow a lot more than this one has so far.

So happy can finally finish seeing this drama with subs! Only problem now is I can't remember who any of the side characters are now. It's been a long 2 months waiting for Viki to get the drama license LOL ^^

So annoying! They completely twisted the original novel so the story doesn't make much sense here, this adaptation…
I completely agree with you. I wouldn't have known the majors differences if I didn't read the novel first.

This adaptation reorganizes the plot and cases to occur in such a different order I got a headache trying to figure out what was going on in the first episode. Sadly several male characters were taken out and their storylines were added to Ji Bai's character. The love interest is hard to see here and I'm up to ep 6. XuXu and Ji Bai's growing romance got made to be a really small part of plot. Even I find it hard to believe Ji Bai's attitude change in the drama when I knew what he was thinking in the novel. Something as simple as exercising or a phone call between Ji Bai and Xu Xu was important to developing the relationship in the novel :(

I hope we get to see more interaction between them in the next few episodes.
