Didn’t expect anyone to read let alone reply, glad you think the same! Kudos for reading Thai novels, I can only understand Thai and not read, I would need like an audiobook to understand lol. Admire your literacy! You’re so right on us forgetting in da future hahah but I hope ya enjoy both books!!

Title Past Life, Present Love Spoiler
* Heard there’s a novel but not sure how different it is, only know that it is from Phat POV and more focused…
Phat waking up in Thithat’s body and finding out Mind is marrying Thithat while the real him was in a long coma would still ensure that there is a the needed 1) betrayal/misunderstanding one another aspect; unchanged main conflict (that should have been more focused on in the show lol) where Phat think she dumps him/doesn’t love him for real blah blah.

2) A better ending. After all the revenge stuff, they could have let Thithat and Phat just switch back and both would get theirs happy endings; Thi w/ Emika and Phat w/Mind. That way they wouldn’t have to sacrifice a sweet love story for the sake ofanother and instead could have preserved both. Felt so bad for Emika here, like could you imagine finding out the love of your life is gone (well his soul) but then his meat suit is still around and being piloted by another, it’s just tragic. It’s not wonder she was desperate at the end to get him back, though I feel her becoming “evil” was just a rushed effort in finishing the story and making Film and Min ending up together justified, it just felt like they were planning things and had to add evil Emika impromptly. Plus with the coma plot, the other story threads would have felt more complete for there would be;

3) A chance for Phat and Thi’s mother to actually treat Thi better and reconnect with him as she sincerely wanted if there was a switch back but now in this version, it’s just impossible for her to even make up for her past actions and treat Thi better,it’s just too late for his mother cause Thi is actually dead dead. How sad is that for the mother? If Thi was still just in a coma then it would have been more impactful for Phat who is in Thi’s body to learn more about who Thi was, how his life actually is, how his father sucks and how their mother treats him badly. This would make him sympathise with Thi and and look at his half brother in a new light when finding out how Thi is actually a good person with his chosen family, Emika and Ink. This way when they switch back, it would be a chance for both half brothers to mend their relationship with one another since Phat would have a better understanding of Thi and know he wasn’t a bad person; basically it would add the plot point of reconnection to the story and make the body switch have some sort of point/moral and honestly just make the story more wholesome and full because now the switch just feels more like a pointless power fantasy thing with Thi’s character just squandered and not used at all… and the whole addition of Phat being in a coma and switching back would just add a lot to the story.

4) If they wanted to spice things up, the could even have both of them switch bodies back midway or something; with Thi back in his own body and Phat in his but too weak to even do anything. Now this would introduce Thi working together with Mind and Phat to bring down his father and the conflict of him not wanting to because he’d rather go off with Emika. But obvi choice is him working with Mind and Phat and that would just start Eng the the relationship of the half brothers, actually development and we would see the actual improving dynamic between Thi and Mind (the build up from the interaction in ep 1, we would be able to see how they work together with a common enemy now) and I feel like it would just be so much more saitifying especially for the main evil dude to be taken down by his own son, that would be the truth miracle lol. Even better there would be two power couples at the end and two sweet love stories but instead we just have Mind have to accept her love in another body while Emika and Ink and left to grapple with being alone because Thi is dead in soul and yet his body is alive and not with them, that is just so needlessly tragic and Ink being a child would probably never understand why his father became like this.

I know this is just a drama but I just feel so emotional for Emika. Like even now I feel in real life, scenarios whereby your husband wakes up with a different person ability and no memories because of a brain injury is actually possible and that would be just sad as well. But mostly since because this drama could have easily had a good end for both Thi and Phat but instead they chose to off Thi as though he was such an irredeemable character and just made him the most tragic one like many said in the comments. I even agree with one comment whereby they said just randomly adding Phat (with Thi’s soul inside) being secretly in a coma hidden somewhere in a later episode would have made the ending better (the whole switch back) and it would have been less rushed/I would just forgive the ridiculousness of Phat being hidden. Because seriously actual Thi’s and Emika’s love story is just so cute and sweet and I just feel so bad for her not being able to be with Thi. Their whole short private wedding scene is so cute and lovely. (lol just really emotional rn being on my period). The whole body switching thing is already a fantasy/suspend your belief for us so why can’t they just have another body switch at the end? We could have had two beautiful and cute love stories and two couples at the end but instead we got this….

Thi and Emika unable to be together even after all their trails and tribulations together because of divine circumstances outside of their control is just a tragedy though a miracle for Phat and Mind. I even agree with one comment whereby the ending would be better if it was just Phat telling Mind to move on while his soul leaves Thi’s body, that way at least both Mind and Emika can bond over their shared loss and they can add the theme of moving on.

Again, we really could have had a well deserved ending with two beautiful love stories. But they opted for an unnatural, unnecessary and forced love triangle that is not even actually a love triangle because Emika and Mind are actually in love with two different men! But no to a good happy and fair ending and instead yes to a boring and unneeded love triangle because that’s what something all Thai dramas need to have huh? Instead of an actually well deserved good ending for all…

* Heard there’s a novel but not sure how different it is, only know that it is from Phat POV and more focused on revenge. If anyone has read the novel, feel free to share about the plot points and if it’s better for Emika in the novel, would love to hear that!

Watched a few episodes and couldn’t continue, came here for the spoilers and now I feel like the whole drama is just a tragedy with lots of wasted potential.

Everything would have been better if Phat was still alive and just put in a coma; the main conflict would still be the same, there would be better plot threads and a better ending. Because right now, the actual Thi is just a totally wasted and under-utilised character. Here’s why:

*messy ranting

Title Heartbeat
Started well but turned into something lame and boring. I gave it a 7 for the cast only.Idk why Korea doesn't…
"Blood" and "Orange Marmalade" are not too bad vampire kdramas if you're looking for some (I watched them long ago tho, could be nostalgia speaking)
