Social status i would think. Maybe the Lords don't want to chew Betel Nuts?
It used to be more status related but in its final days the higher society stopped it sooner to show the west they have similar looking customs as one of the protective measure not to get colonized like the neighboring countries.
DMD is quite open as an artist manager... They allow their artists work with other productions more often than GMMTV for example, and this is one of the instances... This drama is not from DMD at all, it's from Copy A Bangkok (who sadly have history with not so good writing lately, aka Peach Lover or Suntiny).
I'm 6 episodes into this one and I feel the current rating is not really fair. It is kinda all over the place but still very entertaining. I'll take a messy story any day instead of a series where hours pass and nothing really gets to happen.
I actually like this series a lot. It's not the best when it comes to writing and consistency but it has an interesting premise, good vibes, nice OST and I like the cast a lot too. It's a nice series to relax to.
They always do this when Viki is involved. When Viki buys the rights to stream it, they start to air the series on that platform and which each aired ep they hide the corresponding one from YouTube.
What's with the shit AI english voice over 1:18 to end of Ep2 3/4? It ruined the whole episode completely!!!!
I didn't have any voiceover at any point of the episode. Did you watch on YouTube? If so, it might be the new feature they're trying out now and not the drama itself. You can look into the settings and turn it off.
I'm not at the end of episode 2, but how he can be a cheif, when he can't remember his past day even his past…
Skills and memories are two different things. We remember how to read and write but don't remember the exact days we learned it and it's the same with his cooking skills. There are also different types of memory as well.
So can gmmtv actors work with other companies too or is this a co production?
Talent management and producing projects are two different things. Most companies do both, meanwhile some do only one or another (for example Wabi Sabi gave up on talent management and does mainly projects). GMMTV is known to mostly keep their artists for themselves and engage them in their own projects (expecially BL/GL pairs) but they do let their managers engage them outside of the company as well (though it'm more common/normalized in other companies, that's why it seems weird for us now, haha).
It's true that seeing them let BL pairing happen outside is quite a wild card. I guess they want to make it up to Leng for the time he was paired with Ohm and got backlash from ON fans.
Episode 8 (aka ep16 if you count the whole season) is the last of "The Sun from Another Star". Now the…
Yes, I did. There was not much of a story behing the shooting, honestly. They were pressed they lost the match (and also money from the bet) and got mad Arthit talked back to them, so it escalated. They later said Direk's gonna take care of it so they don't have to spend so much time around it.
Which other unresolved trope do you mean? I felt like everything was wrapped/addressed when it ended.
// out of characteri think character development was good decision but i wish they’d go further with that with…
We'll see, there's still space. Plus we keep seeing Pod in the intro but he hasn't shown up yet too. Maybe they'll both stir the pot before the story ends.
Who needs Boston when Raffy's here, lol... At first, it was Dean who made my blood boil in the Boston way but now they gave him enough depth and decency for me to like him, so Raffy takes the crown for now.
This series has such a sad fate. First the struggles with budget and getting it out in the first place, now the technical issues. It also looked quite serious, hope they'll get to retrieve all the data. :'(
I fast tracked episode 8 part B of “The Sun from Another Star," and it seemed like they wrapped up things…
Episode 8 (aka ep16 if you count the whole season) is the last of "The Sun from Another Star". Now the season will continue with "Lately, It's Winter Season", following TIger's and Nao's story. But probably after a break again like they did before.
I liked the ending. Not every love story taking place in the past has to end tragically and I think they found their way around it nicely. I agree with the comments below, the present line had little to no screen time but that's why its ending makes even more sense. I'd dislike more if they rushed it all of a sudden.
