One of the characters is a confused elderly woman who becomes convinced that the two of them are engaged, and she keeps repeating it over and over even though it isn’t true. The FL goes along with it for a while because she needs to get some information from the woman.
Then once everything is over, there’s a scene with the three of them together, and the old woman tells the male lead that they simply have to get married because the FL promised her they would. He looks at her in surprise and asks if it’s true. And instead of brushing it off or joking about it, she looks at him completely seriously and sincerely says: “Yes.”
Then when they’re alone afterward, they start talking about where they’ll get married, and honestly it doesn’t sound like a joke at all :)

Unfortunately, there really isn't a kiss. But in my opinion, there’s one scene in the final episode that more or less clearly says they are in a relationship - and if they aren’t yet, they definitely will be once everything settles down :)
I’ll write it to you in the next message as a spoiler, read it if you want :)

I'm sorry, I probably should have marked it as a spoiler :( I definitely recommend finishing it - it's a really good series. And the chemistry between them is absolutely huge, and I promise it only gets better. And if it helps cheer you up or tempt you a little - by the end, it's clear they'll end up together anyway :)
I think it’s an excellent series that never loses its pace all the way to the very end, which is quite rare in my opinion. The final episode is fantastic as well — it wraps everything up beautifully, calmly, and in a truly complete way, something I honestly haven’t experienced in a long time. The main characters are adults, and a nice bonus is that they actually behave like adults throughout the whole story. That deserves extra appreciation, especially considering that the female lead, even at her age, is still partly a quirky fangirl of a boy band 😅 Any misunderstandings are never dragged out, everything moves at exactly the right pace, and despite the sadness that one person is simply never coming back, the whole series shines with a great sense of positivity.
I enjoyed the drama overall too, but I did feel like something was missing — and I think this might be exactly…
Exactly 😊 The way she reacted in the hospital, by her grandmother’s bedside, when her grandmother told him she had promised she would marry him. And when he asked if it was true, looked at her - and instead of brushing it off, she sincerely and without any joking just said, “Yes.” That alone makes me a bit sad they didn’t make more of it, because the emotions and feelings were clearly there. They just somehow remained underused. And I think that’s a shame even from the perspective of the whole crime storyline. Thank you for your opinion 😊
Just to be clear, I’m not someone who needs romance in everything. But in this case, it really would have added a lot of spark. If there had been something between them, the last three or four episodes would have felt even more intense to me. As it is, I have a slight feeling that I kept waiting for “something more.” That said, this is still a mostly positive review - I don’t want to sound negative. I can’t say I was particularly surprised by anything; I kind of had a sense of how it would all unfold from the beginning. But the two main actors have amazing chemistry, and it was a joy to watch them work through past wrongs, even though it was - especially for him - a long and painful journey. And honestly, I do think that wedding is going to happen :))
I’d like to ask for some advice. I’m translating this series, and in our language the distinction between informal and formal address is quite important. It actually matters a lot to me as a translator, and especially in this case. Does he really address her informally from the very beginning? To me, it feels like they speak to each other in the same way throughout — something that sits somewhere between informal and formal. And if anything, it actually seemed to me that he was more formal toward her than she was toward him. So their conversation in episode five caught me a bit off guard...
That said, I’m still just as excited. Both main characters are portrayed and performed beautifully. You understand them. They have their flaws and their pain, and that’s exactly why they feel like real people. I genuinely hope they get a happy ending together, and I really wish the story won’t make things even harder for them than they already are…
I was hoping we'd avoid the cliche of him realizing she's been lying by omission and cutting her off./getting…
At least I hope we’ll wrap this up quickly and soon. Ideally as early as the next episode, and then move on. Unfortunately, she missed her chance during the ‘peanut dinner’ — that was the last moment when she could have told him everything…
Yeah, that's too ironical. But, atleast she's not harming him and taking Care of him
In my opinion, one thing is absolutely crucial. She isn’t a typical fan in the sense of falling in love with him at a concert or through a TV screen. She fell in love with him at the moment when, a long time ago, he saved her life. I believe she would love him even if he had become a garbage collector, a shop assistant, or a civil servant. She simply was — and still is — grateful to him for saving her. The fact that he later became a public figure, and that she was therefore able to follow him all those years (which probably wouldn’t have been possible if he were a garbage collector), deepened it — fairly speaking — into something slightly obsessive. But I still don’t think it’s unhealthy in the negative sense of the word. She ran to save him as a friend who once saved her life. Not as an idol.
I unfortunately struggled through the second episode. The main heroine acted like an idiot. And since I work in the media, I noticed it even more. A supposedly top professional shows up unprepared for an interview, is shocked when the other side wipes the floor with her, and instead of realizing her mistake and changing her attitude, she decides to get revenge? And in the exact way I hate most about Korea — by publicly spreading whatever she wants about someone? Gross. I almost gave up on the series, but luckily the ending redeemed it a bit. Still, the girl hasn’t won me over.
I was a bit surprised by the beginning - I somehow expected to see a top star right away, not a wreck in a back alley. But actually, it was a nice surprise. The journey to what we were meant to reach was amazing and really entertaining. Or rather, the ML is entertaining. I have to agree with what’s already been said here - it’s totally paradoxical, but he looks way sexier in overalls than later in those fancy clothes. Just an observation. The FL hasn’t shown much yet, but the fact is, when she appears, she leaves chaos in her wake. The ending of the first episode? Absolutely grand. Can’t wait for the next one.
I have to admit that episode 8 had a bigger effect on me than I expected. Or rather, the husband's story. I'm having a little trouble wishing our main characters a happy ending right now.
Is it me or does the romance seems forced? There is no chemistry between the leads at all. Otherwise the drama…
I don't think that's how I would describe it. I think the two of them have great chemistry. It's more like it's only 10 episodes, so it's all "rushed", so maybe that's why you get that feeling. My opinion :)
