Yes the authormade her character balanced, knows when to to push or pull. She is not a killing psycho like other bg novel romance nor a damsel in distress. She could ignore who badmouthed her and could retaliate and protect herself well. Also, one of the novel in which the fl is not overpowered by ml. Because the usual romance novels has always the ml to rescue the fl every time.

After reading the first couple of chapters, I ended up reading this story nonstop for the past week whenever i find a free time. There's so much political intrigue in this story, but the relationships also feel very real. The main characters protect the people they love and are ruthless toward antagonists when necessary. Leniency is only shown when they've ensured the antagonists can no longer pose a threat. The female lead is also very realistic. Even though she sometimes wants to show compassion, she won’t do it if it would ruin things—because the people she loves are more important. Many antagonists aren’t completely stupid, and some are even somewhat repentant, which adds a touch of realism. There’s no unnecessary bowing of heads to others—just a general avoidance of slighting non-enemies on purpose.
