I agree that maybe Jin Qi will grow into a better person. It is just that I feel that FL falling in love with…
I guess if that's how you feel then let it be that way. I don't feel the same way but my point was more so on comments where people are insulting each other. There is room for discussion without making another feel stupid for having an opposing opinion (by opposing I an not talking about the bad things he has done. I don't agree with those).
For those of us that have not given up on the male lead and know he will grow as a person. I hope we can also acknowledge how wrong his actions are. I see a lot of people that are rooting for the male lead's growth being described as minimizing his actions when I agree that is not the case for most of us. I think for a lot of us we try and understand why he makes those choice and what circumstances led to them. I for one dont condone the ml's actions and agree they are very horrible. They are terrible and have robbed the fl of her freedom and agency. We don't need to find reasons for why it's not wrong. What's wrong is wrong and I think that's what the writers intended. This was confirmed to me in ep 30 when conveniently the ml's house is the fl's old home. That just further reinforced the fact the writers intend to make this as uncomfortable for us and give the fl more pain, making us not like the male lead more. I don't like how the comment section is turning into a ml vs fl thing when we are watching such a well written drama with complex characters. That's why I personally dislike the green flag, black flag, red flag labels, because they put people into boxes. People are just way too complex to be reduced to labels. I hope we can keep being cordial and try and understand what the writer is trying to show instead of making up our own assumptions.
Screenwriters knew what they were doing by choosing the shen residence again
Exactly! My first thought was how unfair it was to lanxiang as she would have to remember and then to the ml who is not well liked. Like, how convenient is it that the house he brings her to is her old one. Wow!
Is scholar han the ml? Should she choose scholar han and the drama ends? What about the teasers about them having…
I am ashamed of how many I haven't finished🫣😂 That's my goal to see things to the end. I just can't handle angst or embarrassing moments. I even skipped the slap in front to everyone else. I just can't deal with embarrassment😭

That must be frustrating. Continuing to watch something that you are not happy with. This is the plot we are given. There is just nothing we can do but see what the writers will do with his character.
She didn’t slap him hard enough, the bastard! No matter how you feel about somebody you don’t get to take…
Is scholar han the ml? Should she choose scholar han and the drama ends? What about the teasers about them having a child? Are those pointless to you? Wait till the show ends because there will be redemption for the ml. If you are uncomfortable with his choices thus far, it won't be wise to continue.
I agree with everything with regard to the fl being justified with what she did to the ml. He deserves it, lol.…
That's the point I am making and why I don't like the grandfather. He did a wrong thing, but I probably would've done the same if my family members were at the risk of being executed and the women being sent to sleep with men. So, I agree that that decision negatively impacted her, but I can also see why grandpa made the decision.

They were wrong on that part and I blame the ml's grandfather, especially with the latest episodes and how he reacted to him marrying the fl, but also how he wanted his granddaughter to die to protect the lin family reputation. I also think it's good to understand the fact that if the ml's family switched sides to not die. It wouldn't be wise for them to keep the engagement, or else everyone would've died including the ml's family because of that connection through the engagement. I don't know if you remember but the ml back in ep 1 wanted to let the shen family know, the grandfather stopped him.
XLX flashback really makes you understand her so much. Some people say the FL's character starts to become petty,…
I agree with everything with regard to the fl being justified with what she did to the ml. He deserves it, lol. However, I have seen a lot of people confusing what happened to the fl's family. I think if you watch the first episode you will understand the situation more. Her family wasn't falsely accused. The Lins and Shens were on one side in opposition to the emperor at that time. Something happened and the emperor told them to not oppose him essentially. The Lin grandfather did and resigned to save his family. Fl's grandfather didn't, at that time he thought that only he would die. That unfortunately didn't happen, all the men were executed and the women sent to the music bureau. I think that's why it's not a revenge drama. They were just victims of a tyrannical emperor.
is there even one? she doesn't want vengeance. personally I just hope they keep it between her parents, Mr Lu…
Yeah! The family as a whole was angry when the letter for breaking of the engagement arrived. We also saw the scene where she cried when she heard the wedding happening. Thus far it seems she has made peace with everything. I am just curious to see how things develop in terms of her identity and her families tragedy.

Exactly!! Also, people keep on talking about she would've had a peaceful life with han. I don't disagree with that but I do disagree with people saying that Jinqi will only bring trouble. Lanxiang is not the type of person to look away from injustice. She will always help people. The scene with scholar han and his sister is prove of that. Things could've gone completely bad but the fl still stepped in.

They didn't have anything to do with what happened to them. The Lins and the Shens were on the chopping block. The Lins decided to be dishonorable and endorse the new emperor which the shens didn't. The only bad thing they did was break the engagement, but it wouldnt make sense for them to still be tied to the shens through the engagement if they decided to endorse the emperor. That would mean they would still have to die. The fl's grandfather decided that his morals were more important to him. The only thing the shens didn't expect was that everyone would be implicated and die.
This is so true.. I always notice the difference in strength between a man and a woman, so when the 2ml forcibly blocks the way or continues to bother the fl, it makes me so icky since he has more power over her.
Another great melodrama voted down into the 7s on MDL by the fluffy romcom lovers? I'm shocked!
I don't know why they do that. There is an abundance of fluffy romcoms each year far more than other genres. I know I dont like fluffy romcoms so I never watch it. I don't know why they can't do the same.

I just really don't care for him. I personally can't root for 2nd male leads since they will lose.
