He knew his father sent 10 super masters to assassinate her and knowing that the best way is to led the master up in the mountain and combined force with him against the the northern country. Her hair turned white when she saw the aftermath of his supposed death at the cliff. In a way, his “death” slow the her revenge against his father because now his father doesn’t have a capable heir to take on the family name anymore

Agreed with everything you said. It’s not just romance between HY and DYZ, I think there is a line that keep getting repeat throughout the novel that HY’s love is with AL but he has to protect DYZ. So even after he found out about the fake DYZ he still plan to go through with the wedding to protect the real DYZ from his father. HY’s character is not a love sick puppy like what the drama is portraying him. He is a formidable rival to DYZ and I think she didn’t even anticipate some of his actions either. I feel like he is a combination of both his father and grandfather (scheming and cunning like his father but heroic in actions and look at the bigger picture like his grandfather)
I read the Vietnamese translation of it. The novel has all typical Wuxia trope- Starcross lovers, family feud, cliff jumping and survive multiple times along with years of separation, loss of kungfu lol
Read the novel this past week. It is long, slow pace and a lot more side characters than the show. RA didn’t reveal herself 1/3 of the way in so I think this drama should be 50-60 episodes to be more accurate.
