Exactly. There's a case about a teen that was killed here where I live (BR). His father spent 18 years trying to bring justice to his son, and died without seeing all the culprits being judged and jailed. YZJ is spending years going after each culprit that killed his family, and he's not impulsively doing so, he's thinking and sometimes even law-abiding. He is dying and is in a hurry to see his family receiving the justice they need. When that doctor told him that he could find the cure, YZJ even slowed down his revenge. He spent some days playing with DW and the others and was extremely happy. As soon as the doctor died, he realized he could die at any time and needed to hurry. It's too dangerous for DW to be with him, unfortunately.

I disagree that it was because of YZJ. He wanted to go raid the black desert bandits, but BDB thought the same and went to raid the place they were in. It was a trap those bandits made. YZJ gave sleeping pills to DW so he could go against the bandits without harming her, he definitely couldn't expect their coming. Also, he TRIED to keep her away from the desert, he really really tried, but she said she wanted to go with him. Also, she's shrimp's sister, when they went to the desert I asked myself why didn't they send Shrimp with Yunxiu. He was a kid, obviously he'd only be in danger. Thankfully they thought about keeping shrimp with YZJ's friend, but it was too late. In sum, all of this was not YZJ's fault. Actually he asked everyone if they wanted to stay back, but they all chose to go with him🥲
I'd say, I agree with what YZJ is doing. It's undoubtedly that if he gets romantically involved with SMZ that she'll be endangered (more than she already is). What he's looking for is revenge, he's been doing it for yeaaars. Not only revenge, but to clear his family's name! They're labeled as traitors! There's also the fact that he's dying, anyone in love would not want their beloved to feel sad and alone, he doesn't want to risk dying and leaving SMZ. She has lost alll her family members, even her little brother and new friends. Rn she only has Yunxiu. She'd be way more broken if he died suddenly. There's no noble idiocy here, there's reason🤷♀️ Even if she wants to go through all of this with him, as that's her choice, he also have a choice, and he chose to protect her

The characters are deep. They have paid special attention to this, the depth of the characters. The story is very engaging and is pretty well done. It seems really cute but it's a complex drama (but also cute and funny). If you watch the first 4 eps you'll understand how this drama works, I highly recommend it☺️
In fact, I liked the separation and all the action. God said in Revelations 3 "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth". So why would I like a roller-coaster drama like this to be lukewarm?🫠 I'm loving the changes!🤭
