I've seen only 2-3 modern Cdrama (beside the ones I've dropped after watching teaser) but I share all your dislikes about 3 genres. I'd like to add: 1. Evil rival sect masters in wuxia and xianxia (specially whom are more powerful, advanced and smarter than main characters but lose to them in loosey ways)

2. A stone cold ML, previously inattentive to ladies, getting all warm hearted and lovey dovey with a female.

3. Return of the first love with an obsessive feeling.

(P.S: the bane of using app: No paragraph spacing in comments and reviews!)

I don't mind sad (or even happy) ending as much as I mind bad ending. If it's logical, well acted, well written, etc, I don't care even if all characters die at the end, but if it's ridiculous, I mind so much even😪

Hehe, I'm by no means Chinese BL pro but I've seen these shemen several times in novels...ok...I'll take your words for it... given the current aura of uncertainty around Bromance dramas airing. I think I'd have enough time to finish Sha po lang and start Immortality before their screening.

Yes. Just some half-ar**** flashbacks, name calling and fits of insecurity don't make a believable back story. Maybe he was son of a once grand but fallen family🤔🤔

I agree with every words you've said!! I had a similar reaction to another 2021 drama (Qing Lou) and I came to understand these are kind of dramas that if you want to watch, you have to leave your brain and reason outside the door, otherwise you'll be spending the entire time clenching teeth!!

Seems good. You see, everytime I come across a yaoi/BL/etc story, the shipper side of my brain starts to pair all the characters together, so I don't enjoy single pairing plots much😅😁

Yes. Actually I'm curious because of that. In their fight in Lu clan cemetery, LQY had a flashback that some kids told him why he's called Xiaozao. Because he was black, small and thin before their father took him in.

Are there any side couple in the novel?? (Please no explicit spoiler. I plan to read it someday, hopefully!)

I've watched Qing Lou when it was airing and the general enviroment seems similar to this. Since it's almost finished, I watch it, hope it ends up better than that

P.s: Honestly, I don't care much about Zho Zan. Generally I dislike these kind of always there males. So annoying!😅

I fast forwarded to ep 18 I think, and it's clear that the love interests aren't as romantic as summary suggests, imo. (They're more like infatuation, childhood love, etc) I think the crazy ex-husband is the best looking one, btw😉

I had several GBs of near expiration date internet on my hands so I downloaded subbed eps to fast forward through it. I hope it will be better than I think.
