Watching Jdramas isn't my forte but what drew me to this one in the first place was the interesting and gripping plot. It's a simple case, a crime of revenge done by an ex-con, but a weird letter disrupts everything. This has a lot of potential but to be honest, the story path is downward from the start and at the end it reaches the bottom end.

The main problem lays with execution of the plot. The police and prosecutors were/are so lousy that it's barely like a real life criminal investigation done in a modern time. There are a lot of plot holes during the investigation that are preposterous.

The biggest irrationality is about the letter itself. It's handwritten but we nor see neither hear about any expert examining it. She says it's real so it is, he says it's fake so it is! This matter of authenticity lasts until around eps. 7, 8 and it's not resolved then, the focus just shifts elsewhere!

The other thing is that with a case as famous as Hayashikawa, there must be all informations about it online but despite it being searched several times we see no mention of the prosecutors (who were the real people behind Rikiro's sentence not the police) where as their names and press conference should've came first so how the old man infiltrated them is far fetched.

A couple of married people had a long term affair and even had a baby but no one around them guessed it, I wouldn't think they were so careful as this happening.

The motives behind the crimes are shallow and weak too, especially for the old guy. His daughter even didn't have his name and probably no one knew their relationship so why would his reputation affect hers? I can think of more things but these are the biggest irritations!

I liked Kumogi and her two lawyers, also Tomoya. They could've explored them more but at least they were better than the rest. The foreshadowing done by the scarf accident was smart too. If only the rest of the story could be as well-thought as that.
