Same! I’ve always associate the name with the Matrix and it seems appropriate for MingHao. I just can’t imagine “Bob” or something so commonly used…because he is “the one” after all.

Neo is a unique name but I like MingHao as well. I can’t imagine another English name for him though so I hope he doesn’t change that.

It’s back to the old one. The last one with the red background was better IMO.

I did kinda wish they focused on building more connections with the 2 main leads , but the whole set and costumes were so pretty so I got lost in that and enjoyed it nevertheless. lol. But I agree, hoping for a better story this time around. ☺️

I agree! I see both as well, but I think they downplay his eyes a bit in YMCG so his other features seemed more prominent. That's what I noticed with the makeup. But the sharp eyebrows does show up on this set and I'm all for it! The fact that the storyline includes him going through some growth as well as becoming other characters, it only makes sense.

I love watching that show until I realized that they sorta pushed the ML and FL to the back sometimes. It was pretty notable in the one for FoF.

I love that every one of them makes his face look different. Makeup and lighting does matter. My fav is still BFTB because his eyes/brows sure looks deep and intense!

Chinese dramas has been popular for over 30-40 years now, so it's no surprise that they can gain global reach. Why now? In the past there were platforms such as Vikidrama and Netflix with many Korean shows, while there was a lack of Chinese shows. But now more shows made their way on these platforms along with other companies around the world. All this while Chinese companies such as Youku, Iqiyi, and Mango TV, were able to market better with Phone apps, websites, and YouTube memberships and thus able to get more accessibility to more users and fans. In other words, more people are finally able to watch these shows that they couldn't even find in the past. Accessibility is the magic word.

I'm glad that I read all the way down on this conversation. Now all I'm hearing is there're great news about an upcoming project for Neo and I'm excited! Probably off topic a bit...sorry. I had no idea people were able to go as far as to buy a way to delete comments. That is obsessive and insane! 😱We can only hope he stays positive with the support of the Kiwis worldwide.
