Usually I'm not a fan of historical dramas with a lot of politics, but I think Princess Royal makes it good. Basically the princess dies and goes back to the past with her husband. The whole drama is her trying to prevent the past from happening again while also learning that her past wasn't what it seemed. There's really no other drama I can think to compare it to. It's also interesting in that the FL has more power than the ML, like higher position and family and all that.
not bad, a little long. This was the first time I appreciated the 2nd male lead, but the writers dragged it on too long. The total consensus seems to be that a couple things could have been changed.
oh my lawd what a horrible ending. 36 episodes of slow burn romance only for the ending not to mention the FL…
my bad guys, they didn't release all the episodes on Prime Video. Either way, they should've not included the last ten episodes. Like I really didn't care about her son after you know who died.
Honestly it was good until the Luyang arc. I think the drama wouldve been better off without that. It got sooo boring, and I was honestly getting tired of the FL. Maybe it was the way she was written, maybe it was the actress, who knows, but I was getting irritated at the amount of times tears would well up in her eyes, like ok bro we get it.
On a second note, the emperor is SO HANDSOME. Brb, gonna go check his page out keke.
It was cute. Got a little bored of the main lead, but I really really liked the second couple, the princess and her man, who didn't even get a conclusion bruh.
I am writing this after seeing a lot of hate comments. This was released before the current Historic Cdrama age…
Yes, I know! Before 2025 I was watching historic dramas like they were scraps and I was a beggar. I swear there was like 25 released last year. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad, but I wish there was a little more variability sometimes with the plots, as well as the actors.
I haven't watched a drama this good in a while. The ending(climax) was kinda confusing to me though, and although the ending(conclusion) had good meaning, I was still sad there wasn't a proper reintroduction. Rest In Peace Yu Meng Long<3
