It’s a modern one but it has entertained me quite well and I like the female lead from her previous dramas. Although one episode per day is also killing me so I think I need another concubine especially when main wife will die soon. I dont know how will I ever recover 💔

Lanxiang grew up with a great trauma and her character focused on survival. If she couldn’t bide her time to get out of a situation, she would make the most out of it. Perhaps when Lanxiang agreed to consummate their marriage, it wasn’t love but all those years, she came to trust her husband and fulfill their duty to their elders. I think the grave scene really gave Lanxiang a closure and thus she finally accepted her husband. With all those time skips, it’s very hard for me to think that Lanxiang really fell in love. Maybe there’s still hope in the next episodes, I bet on that cricket’s life.
Everyone’s complaining that episode 39 felt rushed but I promise, the transition of Lanxiang’s feelings happened during the time-skips, really it was there, just lower the speed 🤣 (I’m disappointed too)
Women have really come far compared to the women in the past who were treated as objects and not as human beings. Watching historical dramas really makes me appreciate all the women who fought for our rights.
