I just thought of something, Fan Xian's true identity is the emperor's son, so he and Wan-er are cousins. The…
This is a normal practice in imperial families if we are talking about history. However, their blood relationship was removed in the drama (in the book they are actually related)
Reading these people who kept mentioning how smart Fan Xian is in the novels, makes it sounds like he's such a…
He is just as smart as in the books It feels like we read different books. Yes, he is quite smart in the novel, but not nearly as smart as all three "fathers", as the Elder Princess, as Chen Pingping, as Emperor Qi and so on, and Yan Bingyun is his strategist. Fan Xian thinks to himself that he's like an implementer, and let others come up with smart plans
Wasn't PYA's father against Xunuo and wanted PYA to break off with Xunuo and to marry the rich girl? What happen…
In the end XN's mom realized that her ex-husband was just trash and would never change - she gave up the idea of marrying him again (good character development)
Wasn't PYA's father against Xunuo and wanted PYA to break off with Xunuo and to marry the rich girl? What happen…
1 - yes, his father is against Xu Nuo because he wants Peng Yuan to choose his wife wisely (not because of feelings) 2 - she gave Peng Yuan some time to settle things with Xu Nuo, but she got tired of waiting and broke up with him (she won't wait ten years like Xu Nuo))
FL's ex will pursue her almost to the very end (not because of deep love, of course, but because of a bruised ego), but the main couple never doubted their relationship because of him. They know he's an asshole;) ML's ex-wife will cause misunderstandings due to her impudent behavior, but everything will be resolved quickly (however Zhao Jin should have told everything earlier!). But her coming will bring back ML's inner demons which is why they quarrel with FL in ep. 22-23. So the exes will not affect the main couple’s relationship in any way, only their own flaws) You’re welcome)
If you've watched Jung Hae In as Yoo Ji Ho you'll know how bad Zhang Wan Yi fails in comparison.
I've watched enough to appreciate this production team, and my point is that there is a reasonable character development, and the acting matches it. You called ZWY's acting stony-faced, but when it comes to analyzing his performance, it turns out that during even one episode he shows a variety of emotions (and there will be more of them in the next episodes). You may like the other performance better - that's up to you, but you can't just blame an actor for a bad performance. I've watched korean version, but dropped after 4 or 5 episodes because its pacing was too slow. That's why I don't want to discuss acting in general - because I don't have the whole picture of how ML has changed during the show. It's important to evaluate acting skills, actors must show the internal logic of their characters. But from what I've seen, I can’t say that the other version is better - there are two different characters here, despite the literal use of the original script in some scenes (not even so, every character is different, both FL&SML have different settings and burdens), and this is reflected in their performances. That's all

Professionally done means that the script has an internal logic, the characters develop throughout the story, the camera language is used to convey emotions, and the director can build mise-en-scène. This show has it all. They started acting from the very beginning. Right from the start we have a glimpse of two leads who are not yet a couple and about to end their unstarted relationship and as reserved as possible in front of each other. Then we have the scene of the first meeting, where ZWY shows a change from slight discontent to interest while SY is bickering with him - and their acting is is different from what we've already seen. Then a scene with ML's friends and his irritation because of SML. Then the hidden hilarity of ZWY's character, when FL mistakenly decided that he's chasing her. This is only one episode - but ZWY shows different emotions everywhere. He is self-restraint with FL at first, but the further he goes, the more he shows on the surface. And he behaves completely differently with colleagues, friends and family. This is called character development. Maybe you expect that ML should constantly gushes - but main characters have their own undertones throughout the show

This is a good series, it's made quite professionally and gives the audience a lot of warmth and sweetness. Zhang Wanyi perfectly played a kind and gentle character with his own flaws, but gradually changing. If you say that he has a stone face, you admit that you have not even watched this series.
Good thing I didn't listen to all these negative comments and started it a couple of days ago. Yes the exes are…
It will be in ep.22, iirc) The ex-wife is manipulative and deceptive, but she is a single mother in China, which is still not easy (FL's mother talked about it). This does not excuse her shameless behavior at all, it's just the root of the problem

He has his own "mommy-issues" - she abandoned their family and this left a deep scar on him (there will be a whole scene about his fear of being abandoned). Ex-wife knows it, she specifically asked him to pick up the “abandoned” child. He just feels sorry for the kid

SFL - FL's friend and has a lot of screen time and a she's very cute<3 SML is the most annoying character here (ok, after FL's father), you're overthinking things:)
What are you talking about? 《春夜》 just a random title from the internet and has never been officially announced,…
Why do I need to check the MDL? Is this chinese official platform? 《春夜》is a title from the information sheet that is published every month on the Internet (this one was published back in august 2021 by 广播电视总局). The only official information is contained in the 电视剧发行许可证 Remake doesn't mean you're shooting one-on-one, there's always an adaptation. Even just a setting with three sisters is impossible to implement in China without serious issues (having even two children is very difficult until 2015).
When are they able to cut themselves from their past relationships??
I don't think his behavior can be classified as "cheating." He bluntly tells FL that he can hardly be just "friends" with her, but he will be closer to her only after FL breaks up with her boyfriend
The story was good, the chemistry between the leads were good. It is a onetime watch. But I have complaint with…
Well, after all, she spent ten years making this relationship work. But I don't think she would go back to him, only family pressure could break her at this point
