Reading the synopsis and watching the drama is like two different things it doesn’t makes sense. Actually it not memory lose it because she an different person from the modern time , which sound nothing like the synopsis. One episode in and the FL is so annoying stupid don’t know if I could continue or not.

Sorry but for someone that been acting as long as she has the FL acting is terrible too over acting ! 1 eps in and I can’t stand her , she supposed to be an author but she act like an 15 instead of 20’S something. I really hate dramas where they makes the FL stupid and immature it so annoying to watch. It really too bad because I was looking forward to watching this drama after seeing the previews because I really like the ML . I feel so bad for Thomas Tong he have a lots of finished dramas that has not aired and now this drama, I don’t thinks this drama is helping him get more popular. Hopefully his The return of condor heroes get aired I think he makes a good Yang Guo .

It not about body shaming but the FL looks so much older then the ML ,sorry but there no ways that this pairing can create chemistry as couple.I hate to admit it but we lives in an world where looks is very important and specially in dramas couples pairing can makes dramas good or just ahhh .

Yeah I don’t like it when Allen is being call unprofessional when they don’t know the whole story with the body double is true or not ! Yes most Allen characters in past dramas he doesn’t play an very passionate ML towards FL but it also that how the Director is Directing him to act. Being an ML actor is very tricky when behaving towards FL too much they might get accessed of taking advantage of FL or too little we audience not satisfy like with ZSC .

Yeah it bad writing and bad Directing or bad editing , in many Cdrama they have to do a lot of editing to pass censorship .

Totally agree most novel to dramas never exactly the same and especially with censorship issue . Yes it annoying how some peoples keeps complaining of the ZSC from novel to Allen ZSC .

Sorry I don’t think reading the novel will makes someone like the drama better. Me Personally I didn’t read the novel but I like drama and I don’t think the characters are boring .

Totally true about ZSC character being unromantic but I think watching romance drama we audience would like to see more lovey-dovey screens with the two leads. I also think that Allen did an good job expressing his affection for SY with his eyes without actually touching her just like in O& O.

After watching all the BTS it show that it up to the Director on how much or how far the love screens play out it not up to Allen.

Wow thanks a lots for explaining all the info , most comments here keeps saying how the ZSC in the book are better then the drama version. I notice that the character in Book is always different when it translate into drama . Even tho I haven’t read the book but from the drama I think Allen did an good job portraying an awkward nerdy professor. Watching the bts it all up to the Director how the love screens play out. I really don’t mind ZSC character being awkward I think it cute but I wish the Director would add more PDA screens for SY and ZSC .

Maybe passion is the wrong word I meant that they should show more affection toward each other not too rigid . I admit that Allen is a great actor but he really need to work on being more comfortable with his female coaster in lovey-dovey screens.Also I don’t think he being married is the reason it more like he just not comfortable in those kinds of screens.

Maybe because the part 1& 2 were done by different director and producer but both are written by the same screenwriter. I don’t mind ZSC awkwardness but I wish he not so timid toward SY. I feel that if the actor doesn’t lives up to his full potential is also the Directors fault too. I also wonder the way Allen is acting is the way his character is written in the scripts ? In O&O he did an amazing job as ZSC the powerful general. From the unfulfilled love of the last parts 1 I was hoping ZSC and SY character would shows more passion and lovey-dovey towards each other.

LOL Allen have a couple period dramas upcoming, hopefully peoples will judge him for his acting and not on his kissing screens. Unlike you I watch all of his dramas and he ones of my favorite actor.
