If you finish ep 38 you will know :)

You know what they say "Never judge a book from it's cover.".

I am actually quite happy because at first I thought we would have like 20 episodes of separation xD I think the director will have made the last part well though since he is so dedicated so I am not too worried.

Which is why I was so pleased part 2 was released immediately after. Would have been difficult to wait otherwise.

It depends on what your cup of tea is. This is a slow burn drama which focuses mostly on Shao Shangs journey coming of age. It is not a drama that has the main leads together in almost every scene, but instead it focuses on the whole ensemble of casts.
If you like characters that are not one dimensional and has flaws this is great.

I actually think the fifth prince is quite funny even though he is a bit stupid xD

I wanted to cry but I couldn't because of them making the previous scene really funny and also the emperor looking making funny comments. I laughed instead. Great acting though from Lusi and Wu Lei.

I think he was having trouble keeping his acting up when she started to actually defend him xD

Did the aides make her feel even more entitled and act more spoiled? Yes. But so did those girlfriends of her, and yet those aren't killed. I am just not a fan of placing the blame on someone because of someone else's crimes. Just because those aides status was lower does not mean they should be treated like cattle, and killed off. I get why they are killed, since this is a drama it's for dramatic effect and more. Does not mean I agree with the killing.

I like him as well, mostly as a person. Is he a great emperor because of the fact that I like him as a person being funny most of the time? Yes. Is he in actuality a good emperor when it comes to handle official matters? From what we've seen not really, at least most of the time as long as it's related to his kids.

Well today's episode was a lot to unpack. I feel bad for the Empress, such a nice woman.

Yeah I was like what? I thought there would just be straw people under there or something to scare here. But the music did really sound like it was turning into a scary movie when she walked into her house.

Still does not change my point that killing people that has not committed any crime at all is wrong.

But killing 8 men because the lived in her palace seems quite excessive. Shouldn't they just have exiled them? The fifth princess deserves to be punished but they had no hand in this matter at all.

I know it's supposed to be emotional in 38 but I cannot stop laughing.

On a serious note killing those guys was not a very good thing to do, especially if they were just regular folks who had not committed any crimes.

Well that was certainly a big gift for the Fifth Princess O.o
