I need an opinion on whether to watch this drama or not . ADOS had raised the standard of chinese historical dramas…
Alright so I have watched both. ADOS is definitively a good production in terms of sets, cinematography, acting, a mature plot amongst other things. I did however not really feel anything for the characters, they failed to draw me in as I found the plot rather mediocre and not all that exiting. If you like a mature love story I understand why a lot of people enjoy it.
This one however I am more invested in, maybe because I am a bit biased since I like Lusi and Wu Lei, but I find that the plot here is much more interesting compared to ADOS. It's okay to disagree on this point. Here we have a young girl who has not been treated with any kindness in her whole life, and due to this she resorts to using her wits to try and outsmart her family members that wants to do her harm. Unlike Paner she does not really have any grand ambitions like owning a restaurant even though she is a girl etc. She just wants to live a good life and finally be loved and feel safe. The story starts with her parents coming home from the war after 15 years time has passed and though her father dotes on her, her mother finds her much to wild and unruly and therefor tries to curb her instead of showing her affection.
Our male lead could so far be said to be a bit similar to Qianfan, as he is dedicated to his duty, and not really interested in things out of it. He also has a complicated background, but it has not really been specified this early in the show. However due to some chance meetings he find himself intrigued by our female leads wit, even though it takes them a few episodes to actually meet. And then he falls hard.
When it comes to the sets and cinematography and directing I think the cast has done a great job. The different angles used is really great and there are some long shots that I find really impressively done. There is also more instrumental music compared to your regular show, which seems fitting in this case.
Some people dropped this after 1-2 episodes because the drama starts out with some family theatrics which people found "annoying". I however found the first episode really great, and I did not feel as if the characters made me want to drop the show. The number 2-4 episodes were a bit slower but I found that it was a good thing to establish how difficult the female lead had it even when it was just to live well with her own family. From 5 onward things definitively heat up and I found that it just got better and better.
So I would say try it out and don't drop it after just 4 episodes :) Sometimes the start is slow and then the rest is just the right pace.
And I knew something was up with the military maid when she was given screen time. But SS did well for her first…
She was such a cute girl that Miao Miao as well :( But I really thought that they did a kickass job the female soldiers and thought really well. I agree that the reason they lost Miao Miao like that is so that SS could experience what it feels like to lose someone. I was really glad Liangfeng stayed home, otherwise I felt like she would have been killed and that would have been even worse.
I liked the entrance of BY with the mist and then heroically saving the kid. I hope she makes it. He was very quick with changing his tone once he found out that SS was on the way to the city xD
The arrow scene was really well made. Lei Lei sure must work out a lot.
Now that I have time I am confused whether I should start watching 'Love like the Galaxy' or 'Who rules the world'…
WRTW is more about the male lead and Lusi do not really do anything important for the most part. So it depends on if you want to see a story that focuses more on her or on the male lead. Atm LLTG is more about Lusi and her relationships and not the other way around.
Also Niaoniao shifts into general mode real quick. Very much looking forward to future developments in this area,…
It surprised me that the female soldiers listened to her so well even though they have more experience then Niao Niao. Especially since they know that her mom thinks she's so naughty and irresponsible xD
so let me get this straight: Ling Buyi and the emperor believed that Shu was finna rebel with all the weapons…
I think the reason that the emperor has to bring his army towards Shu is to stop the rebellion before they really start. It is my belief that they assumed that the Shu was not yet ready to rebel and therefor did not think that there would be some scouts already in their own counties. I am not to sure though but I think that it was supposed to be a preemptive strike against the Shu.
Guys, this is out of context but I just want to share. In YT before this drama airing, I cross this channel who…
I also watched one of those but she said it was the opposite xD Also the same with Lusi + yang yang. She claimed he didn't like Lusi and I was like what xD I mean you can believe in tarot if you want but I do not. I read some funny comments though under the video and had a laugh.
episode 12 is truly a work of art I will never get over the way ling buyi looks at cheng shaoshang, with so little…
I think that it definitively worked in their favor that it took 8 episodes for them to meet face to face and actually talk together. Also the fact that we had to wait a few days instead of getting to episode 8 the first day. The anticipation was much higher and it was a really nice buildup. Hopefully our general LBY will be sneaky and randomly insert himself in CSS life more next week.
I saw this from earlier comments......CSS is either 14-15 and LBY is 21 ish
It's mentioned in the first episode. But after that they mostly just say "more then 10 years has passed since we left" so it's easy to miss if you did not catch it the first time.
And if Tweedledum keeps pointing it out, even Tweedledee won't be able to save his life!
That is true. I very randomly like Ah Qi's voice XD But then again I am still so happy there is no overdubbing, much better immersion and I feel like the emotions are portrayed even better. A little bit off topic but tweedledee and twedeldum is a good comparison.
