Yes but the imperial family is very large and not all of them are kids to the emperor. Yunchang is from the lord of Ruyang family. Prince Xiao's dad is Prince Yong. And since that particular prince looks old I assume Prince Yong would be a brother/uncle to the emperor. I believe we will meet the emperors actual kids once we get to the palace scenes.

Ling Buyis dad remarried to another woman, that is the stepmother. That woman was also related to the dad as a cousin. So far we have not met the royal family except for a few distant relatives, so we will meet the emperor and empress later :) Basically the emperor really likes LBY so he decided to make him an honorary son, that is my take anyway.

The first 4 episodes are a more slow paced and has some family drama which some people found to annoying and so dropped it after 1-2 episodes. I am quite in love with this show though so I recommend watching it until at least episode 8 to decide if you like it or not :)

I am also rewatching epsiodes and I keep finding new stuff. First time I did not notice that some of their shoes has like an extra piece of fabric at the front part of the shoe sticking up. Another thing is that I think that the cast is quite good at "background acting" even if it's just pretending to talk to someone else and do it well.
I am also really fond of the servants clothes in this, I like this style for some reason xD Not as fancy perhaps as most but I like the shape.
The hairstyles are also very nice and not to complicated.

I think its great that most of the cast is such good actors. One emotion has more then one face. I feel that Wu Lei is a good fit for a young stone faced general, since I did not watch any shows with him as a kid, and much better at having a "menacing" aura compared to lots of younger actors who are going for the same thing.

It's easy to read if it even if you write spoilers and then press enter lots of time. Which is why its easier to use the spoiler tag so that people can choose if they want to know or not :)

Yeah I realized after that cloak might have been a better word for it. It's no biggie that it randomly appeared, because it's a very nice cloak. Still makes me envious of how some stuff works in dramaland xD Would be nice to have that skill irl.
