For me it was good :) It is not fast paced, so that will be a turn off for some people. The cinematography is really great as well. All the actors did a great job even though some characters are annoyingly written in the way they act.

The novel is focused on Shao Shang so I believe we will start with some Cheng family drama and then when Ling Buyi starts to "chase" Shao Shang we will get a lot more of him. I also think that the later plot will be more revolved on his background.

She has 2 I believe. The older brother and a twin.

Depends on who you ask. Some really enjoy it and some drop it because of the Cheng family drama in the first episodes. The grandmother and 2 son's wife are quite loud.

In some cases reading the novel before makes me love it more. But in other cases I do watch before reading, then I read afterwards and find so many nice little tidbits that I would have loved to see on screen.

Haha. Yeah I also find it annoying when they do exaggerating voices but I imagine we will have less of the family later so it starts with some more family drama and then moves to other things. I have not read the novel though so might be wrong.

Not that we are far in but seems like Director Fei is really good! Not sure who it is in dramaland who tell people where to stand etc but I am glad they are using more then words to show us things.

That last shot of Shao Shang and her family in ep 4 made me so sad :( It really showed how she felt that she was an outsider in her own family even with the return of her parents.

Yeah I agree with her not hating her daughter. But it is sad that did not think that maybe before she showers her with tough love she should actually show Shao Shang that she does love her and has missed her.

I regret it as well but then I turned it around and thought this is better. Now we get it to air for 5 days so we will only need to wait 2 days for the new episodes for next week.

Yeah I saw that after I posted xD At first they weren't there so I looked elsewhere.

The music is really nice in this so far!

It's to make us dislike them xD Also a reason to side with Shao Shang and wanting to take revenge on them later lol.

If they didn't show how the Cheng family behaves Shao Shangs character would not make sense. Besides the trailers show that it will get more "serious" later. Is it annoying when inlaws fight? Yes but compared to Minglan I believe this will focus more on other things and not just the family infighting over who gets to be the main wife etc.

People can hype it if they want to since most of these comments won't be read in the future. Unless there is someone who is scrolling down and down and down.

I like Lusi's voice so no.

Very sad start indeed :(

The novel is from Shao Shangs point of view :) So I imagine we will get more Cheng family in the start and then the more the story progresses we will see the Imperial family when Shao Shang and Ling Buyi gets closer.
