Editorials Felt dragged, plottwists on end but great chemistry
This one really felt like a “let’s roll the dice and see what we’re going to do next” kind of story. And honestly, I mean that in both the best and worst way possible. It can add some fun elements where you don't know what will happen next but yeah, it can also make it feel dragged. I genuinely enjoyed the plotline in the beginning. I was hooked enough that I ended up binging the first 30 episodes, which says quite a lot because that is a lot of episodes to fly through. The characters were interesting, the chemistry between them was incredibly compelling, on fire actually, and there was enough tension and drama to keep me wanting to know what would happen next.
But then... as mentioned, somewhere along the way, it started feeling like I was watching the same cycle play out over and over again. They misunderstand each other, they fail to communicate, someone makes a questionable decision, there’s a dramatic revelation, and then wow plot twist! Just when you think things might finally settle down, another misunderstanding or twist appears out of nowhere. After what felt like the tenth round of miscommunication, misunderstandings, and increasingly dramatic plot twists, I started to feel like I needed to step away for a minute. so I took breaks in maybe like 5 episode intervals at the end. so its like watch for an hour need a long break type of thing. Sometimes there was actual days in between, normally I don't do that but man it felt dragged.
on a positive side. The story is definitely fun and engaging, especially because I really liked the characters and the chemistry between them. Their relationship is what kept me invested for as long as I was in the first 30 ish episodes. There was a genuine emotional intensity to their interactions, they had great chemistry and I am all here for it,. That combination of romance, tension, and shifting dynamics was probably my favorite part of the entire story TBH.
My biggest issue, though, was the pacing. This story dragged. And then it dragged some more. And just when I thought surely we were getting close to the end... nope, there was more another dragging. I honestly think the story could have benefited from having fewer episodes in general. Alternatively, they could have made the individual episodes longer while still cutting down the overall episode count. wbc watching 30 episodes of 40 min can feel like less of a chore than watching 50+ episodes of 20 min. There was definitely enough material here for a compelling story, but I think some of it could have been condensed without losing the important emotional beats. I did look into the fact that this was adapted from the Thai version, and apparently that one is also real long. I will be checking it out later as well. but yeah overall I liked it but it felt dragged. I will def not rewatch it but it was worth the time I sent on iy.
Also, bonus points from me that I LOOOOOVED the OST. I have added it to my playlist. It was fantastic.
