Charming New and adorbs Prapai
I havent seen the chinese ver of this so it was a fresh start for me. But after seeing this, I can probably imagine Lin Yi playing this role as well, so i guess there is that.First of all, the story line is quite common for the trope. Not that much to talk about. But in terms of casting, i’d say, New is such a spot on to play such a prince charming role, and even when Pupha was being the unreasonable nerdy guy who awkwardly cant tolerate girls, New nailed it. And to think that Newwie said he almost give up playing the role because he thinks it was too hard for him! This is the first time I was able to like an actor playing both hetero and BL dramas with no problem, or maybe i’m just too much of a Newwie fangirl? Lol. And as for the FL, i was quite surprised to like the character. Kramuk is cute and i like her silliness as Prapai (why is it that thai dramas like to use some sort of Pai name for the leads? Lol) She was adorable and beautiful as well. And to know that this is her first series, it was quite amazing. However, the second leads need a bit more though. Personally, I think chimon is probably too young and less experienced for the role, however he did good enough. Coming from The Warped Effect, I was quite familiar with Gigi, but in this, her chemistry with Chimon is so and so. Time did well as the third wheel LoL and i think his character gave a convincing rival to someone like Puphaa. Not to mention, he was funny and sincere to Pai as well, and the fact that he took his failure with dignity makes me like the character more.
There might be a few cringe awkward scenes (mainly the scenes where Puphaa needs to speak chinese (did New speak Chinese a little by any chance? I was wondering why they did not just dubbed the Chinese conversation, it may not be that awkward otherwise. Lol). The other scene I have problem with is when Prapai got lost in the jungle after stupidly running around trying to catch butterflies. Lol. I mean, from the compound of a big building/?hotel into a jungle without having to go through some sort of obstacles or fence? Quite hard to believe imho.
All in all, it was a nice watch and with an eye candy like New (mygoddd why is he so handsomeee lol) , it was an even better experience! 🤣🤣

Most feel good BL so far. Lol
Mygosh, coming from DBK, Tay here is totally flippin 180 degree change from Pete. Lol. Karan is basically the epitome of greenest amazon forest. Lol. And Tay and New’s acting matured so much compared to DBK era for me, especially Tay’s (even though i think my bias is New. I can tell you this). Karan is such a green flag, nothing about him irks me at all. New is adorbs (how is that guy’s skin so fairrrrrr like howww. And having him in such a close up distance with Tay made that even more obvious). The plot is well thought out and well executed imo. Sometimes, i have problem with certain BL’s plot (like they just want to promote BL that the plot doesnt matter much to them sometimes. The comedy factor rings well with me, i found myself laughing out loud at them. Achi’s monologue while listening in to other people’s mind, esp Karan’s in the beginning totally had me LoL High rewatch value what with all the whumps scenes and Achi’s fainting left and right (i legitly thought they would do us a flip and had that guy be down with terminal illness or something what with how many times he faints lol. Luckily they end it with HE instead of going down the sadist route. Other couples’ story were also interesting enough not to make me annoyed with too much screentime given to them. Pai and Rock’s relationship is a good heterocouple representation.
OSTs are fine (is the last song at the wedding a solo OST from New?) All in all, i am soooo looking forward to watching more of TayNew after watching this.

First TayNew drama!
Believe it or not, Polcasan actually brings me to get to know TayNew and later makes me want to try and watch their series. Lol. Polcasan’s cute antics kept on bugging me on my IG’s timeline out of nowhere, and as i kept on watching them, more and more of San’s video coming up on my timeline. Lol. Then I get to watch how san interacts with his phorphor and papa, leading me to get to know both Tay and New (gosh, New is so gorgeous!). I enjoyed watching them bickering on shows and thought I should give their series a chance.Ok. Back to the story. Like I said, this is my first series of them (tried Peaceful Property at first, but since I was fooling around trying to find a series to watch at 3am, I dont think trying to watch Peaceful Property was wise lollll). Watched this until halfway around 6 episodes, but I felt so stressed at first. Lol. Pete’s character seems to be portrayed as such a red flag to me I was curious how the hell Kao fell for him in the first place. Lol. Then I went around to previous instalment in the Kiss series and watched the PeteKao compilation. After watching them there, now at least I get to know more about Pete, even though his possessiveness sometimes still bothers me a lil bit. Lol. Tbh, I felt they did Kao quite dirty in DBK, I love how Kao seems to be more firm and standing up to Pete in Kiss, but it seems that in DBK, he was mellowed down to a point of damsel in distress most of the time. I missed how he can punch Pete around for being such an asshole in Kiss, but when things go south in DBK, Kao was just moping and helpless. I truly love them together, but in those aspect, i truly abhors Kao’s helplessness tbh.
Secondly, i felt like they gave too much screentime and character development to the second couple MorkSun that it seems sometimes, all the story line that PeteKao has is the tutoringlying part. I sincerely hate the Non character (lol. He really tested my patience) and I felt like, the Non character should have not become such an important nemesis to someone with Pete’s standing. I mean, should someone who is almost old enough to be working in real world needs to fight with a mere high school boy to that extend? The plot should be more convincing (at least make the love nemesis someone who is more convincing than a kid). Also, there is a matter of continuity issues between the story in previous instalment wasnt being brought around in DBK which left me confused a bit sometimes (for example, their friends not knowing about their status when previously they are already out-ed, and the fact that Kao’s family seems to be much downgraded i.e poorer than i seemed to remember it from before)
The opening sequence is giving me a soap opera vibe, always led me thinking of wives and their husbands’ scandal pulling each others hairs and end up crying in a corner. Lol. Reminds me of that Korea’s dramas that one time (i think it was Temptation of Wives or something?) but it was well shoot, and even though it was too sophisticated for the story’s plot, i applaud their creativity. Lol.
Overall, despite all that, i quite enjoyed the whole series, helps me to have a break of watching chinese long dramas and hopefully the next one I picked up of TayNew would be better

Unexpectedly a good watch!
Amidst all the thai’s bromance/BL series, accidentally came across this on kissasian. Surprisingly, it was quite good. Having only 24episodes with probably 20mins each makes everything went quite fast with no filler. I bingewatch ep 3 till the end in just one night. The plot surprisingly was quite well thought, with acceptable and non nonsense plot twist. Both the MLs’ acting was good(probably had a minimal hiccup here n there but it doesnt bring the story down too much) and their chemistry was chef kiss! The enemies to lover trope was done quite well, i was quite surprise watching the initial beatings CXX gave to LJW at first. Lol. LJW has this soft beauty (sometimes he looks like Li Hongyi in certain angle. ) The settings was appropriately decorated, it gives off quite a high budget impression to me, despite being a short length series. Lol. Their costumes were also nice and flowy I like! The fight scene was well executed and the fight choreo was also nice. After having such a problem with the fight choreo in Youthful Glory, i became a bit sensitive towards it watching costume dramas. Lol. OST was also quite nice to hear, and fits the overall genre. And not to mention, theres a lot of whump scenes between the two leads, making it almost a sure rewatch in my books. LolThey did CXX wrong a bit in the end, ending his story just like that, i’d prefer they made him come back strong assisting the war to glory, rather than the ‘not human not ghost’ ending they gave him. Well, i guess we all dont get to have it all right?
All in all, truly recommended this series despite its flaws here and there though.

Typical trope, but enjoyable nonetheless!
In terms of plot/story, it was a typical used time and time again in historical cdrama, but well, i enjoyed it nonetheless! Lol. There must be a reason why certain theme became common right? This is my first drama of both ML and FL. At first, I need quite some time to convince myself of SWL as King of War/powerful Dingbei Wang with his built. I mean, he is tall and handsome yes, but im not sure if theres problem with costumes that he wears or the way he carried himself, but the ‘grand’ and aloof/powerful vibe just wasnt vibing there. He appears quite thin, and the costume just didnt help him at all to build the a character with the ‘Wangye’ feels. His acting might be quite a hit or miss in terms of carrying himself as a Wangye, but at least improved a little bit later down when he transitions into being a lovefool prince. Lol. I like his acting enough (esp his lovey dovey scenes) even though sometimes his facial expression (or is it his mouth?) came across quite weird to me. Lol
FL is pretty and costumes are quite nice and flowy. Acting wise, i guess you will grown to like her later. Ming Tan character was quite a mishmash to be honest, sometime she tried to be a perfect legitimate daughter of a marquis, sometimes she throws that out of the window and goes gallivanting having fun like a spoilt princess. Lol. MT’s character is flawed here and there, sometimes you tend to feel she’s annoying, especially in the earlier episodes when she had to get her way no matter what, but i guess she grows up later. Side couples were fine, i quite enjoyed their side story, more so zhang shizi-minmin than shuerlang-yunyi, but it was enjoyable enough. Poor Lu Ting being sidelined though. Lol.
Plot wise, theres a few glaring problem like how the hell Nanlryu can take over an enemy’s city in just a day (and almost like waltzing in the city gate lol) and lose it just as comically fast later? I got whiplash from that plot. Lol. And the asshat plotline of a Nanlryu’s Wangye taking over the city after years of lying low then suddenly defeated and let go of his ambition just because of FL is just nonsensical i mean who the hell will believe in that? Lol. The relationship between the emperor and Dingbei Wang was also not explained properly as well (i only know after reading a few comments in here). How fast they convict Marquis of Jing An compared to why they cant convict Chancellor Su even after solid proofs of rotten stuffs his Su’s family has done (they gave a reason for that, but i am still not convinced. Lol). The most glaring problem i have with this drama is its fight scene. It was so glaringly a problem when i felt like there’s something not quite right with it since the first fight scene on episode 1. I thought they will improve as the story goes by, but every fight scenes after that still annoyed me, so i know it was a problem with the choreo director then. The swords clashing sometimes seem so unstable, the sequences are not convincing, it even appears cheap sometimes. It was quite frustrating especially if you try to sell the ML as a god of war and someone who is feared for his battle prowess. The only thing saving this drama is the lovey dovey acts between ML and FL (even though sometimes you wonder how that guy being hailed as someone so fearful and ruthless end up being such a puppy later on. Lol. But doesnt matter, just enjoy the romance) and romcom plot of the side couples.
Well, despite all that complaint, i still enjoyed the drama enough for its romance and comedy part. Dont worry too much and just enjoy the flow without much thinking and you will be fine i guess. Lol

Much to be desired unfortunately
Came for CZY, and possibly staying only because of him as well. Lol.Story was all over the place. I was actually quite surprised CZY chose this script after watching his previous dramas aired prior to this (or is it just being aired in 2023 but was shoot long time ago?) Plot was nothing to talk about and I can basically finish this by taking it as a comedy and not taking the plot seriously. Lol. Watched xuanyi before in Duolou and liked her, she was pleasing to look at. But really, her character here really challenged my patience. Lol. Initially, it was quite understandable for her to act the way she did (i mean, who would be happy being kidnapped away from your family and was forced to marry someone you dont know? Of course you would like to go back home) But later on, her behaviour is becoming more and more annoying. Lucky she changes towards the end (even if theres only about 5eps left). I found it quite pretentious of her falling in love with the handsome version and refused to give the monster version a chance at all even though KML treats her so well. I mean, isnt the point of the story is supposed to show the FL’s pure heart and not her shallowness? Lol
Villains were weak and nothing much to talk about. Although im happy that they made JMH repents at the end and found love in Haitang. Su He was annoying as hell, im glad she was stabbed silly. Lol. Ma jiangjung was too silly to be a general tbqh and his sacrifice doesnt made me as sad as maybe it should be?
Ost was nice and costumes were nice and flowy, especially for FL. Even though some appears too modern (i mean, they seem to include Europa so maybe that fits? Lol), but it was nice gowns nevertheless, albeit a little bit sexy sometimes.
That being said, KML/CZY is one thing everyone agrees save this drama i guess. As usual, CZY and green flag character just cannot be separated. You will swoon no matter what.
All in all, dont take the plot too seriously and consider this as a silly romcom comedy and you’ll be fine. Dont think too much or this wont make sense much. Lol

Review from 3years ago. Lol!
Lol. The drama that finally made me sign up for an acc at MDL (instead of just reading anonymously before)First thing first, as someone who I dare say have watched a lot of chinese series, i have serious issues with the way the writer wrote how the characters behave in the setting of ancient times. No protocol whatsoever. Lots of times, i cant even brain if the writer forgot that she was currently writing an ancient historical drama, instead of modern. Lol
But after I decided to forego that aspect, it was more tolerable. I enjoyed the series for the romance. At first, it was the romance between Junqing and FL that keeps me going. And after the FL went on her own merry way for revenge, I have already invested (after spending so many hours watching the first half, am not going to just easily dropped the drama. Lol. Thats so me).
Came across this drama via mindless search. Watching the first ep, I discovered the ML is quite familiar and found that he is from handsome siblings,so a point to continue on. His acting is good, though im sure some will have issues with him being labelled as god of war with that cute handsome face of his. Lol. The romance between him and FL for first quarter of the story is basically what every fans would love to see (even though YMW’s fringe at first seriously need to go! I prefer when she only has sideway fringe rather than the full fringe). Ye Jun Qing is such a swornworthy character!
Unlike some viewers, I have already accepted from the start that Junqing fell in love for the second time with YMX again (in YMW’s body), so it doesnt disturb me that he ends up with her (though YMW is quite pitiful for not being able to live. Alas, we didnt know her at all actually from the storyline, it was always yao mo xin from the very start)
The storyline is all over the place sometimes, though after reading the comments, now i know it is to be blamed on having to cut the series from 70eps to 36. Despite that, it is still worth watching to the end for me. I even end up rewatching quite a lot of scenes and somes of my favourite almost always involve the scenes where ye jun qing gets hurt and boy, did he get hurt often! Lol. Sometimes, i even laugh on how junqing always end up being a damsel, what with him always getting hurt/stabbed/poisoned etc. 🤣🤣 Nonetheless, being a whore for ML whump, this is just my cup of tea! 🥰🤣
Jun Qing’s bromance with jinyi is a nice touch, as with ben lei. Though I think i must have missed how exactly did jinyi and junqing end up such a buddy in the first place? 🤔🤔
Notable mention of something that i feel the need to get off my chest:
-did the emperor wants Jun Qing to die or not??! Make up your mind please! Lol
-the most useless prime minister ever in the history of historical drama. How the heck did he got the position being such a wuss??
-Li Fei is such an annoying character, though I guess props to the actress
-whats wrong with all the women who love/fancy junqing. Shu Fei has already married the emperor, but still expect junqing to be with her?? At least mo wan has the excuse of being the love of junqing’s life. Lol. Princess Chang Feng is cute at first with her lil puppy love, but end up annoying in the middle when she forces junqing to love her despite knowing all along that she is the one offering to save him and he would never love her, but end up redeeming herself at the end after she ‘wakes up’ from dreaming. Lol
Notable good things:
-the action and fighting scenes are quite well done to my opinion. I always love seeing Ye Jun Qing fight scene

it's a rewatch!
this is a review after a rewatch. I watched this back when it was first aired in 2020 and I still remember how I waited every week for the new episodes to come out in their official YouTube channel. and when I first found mydramalist a couple of years later, I remember I rated this as 9.5. not sure why I suddenly had the urge to rewatch this again, but I still like this the second time around, even if some things became slightly more obvious to me during this rewatch. and because of that, I rated it down a little this time (still an 8.5-9.0 for me though. lol)Ok, first lets go through the pros:
-I really love the chemistry between ML and FL. Even from earlier episodes, their chemistry was chef kiss. All their lovey dovey scenes were making me feeling all the glory of my single hood. lol When the general pampered his wife, I was literally squealing , not to mention when he was being protective of her. This pro remains the best thing in both my first watch and rewatch
-Caeser Wu's acting here was brilliant and it makes me want to search more of his works. however, I remember watching his other work and felt his acting was off there (maybe because I absolutely cannot stand his then FL's acting. haha sorry). I especially like how he broke down during the quicksand scene when his lady saying her final goodbye expecting their little family to die together, I can feel a mighty general's helplessness during that scene and how he broke down crying after was beautiful and heartwarming
-the plot, even though doesn't make that much sense sometimes, goes well with the lighthearted theme it seems to portray on
-the costumes were mostly beautiful, though not all, some is a miss as well. lol
-OST was very nice. and can be heard all through the drama, not just the beginning and ending like some drama's osts
-due to its lighthearted genre, and not so long episodes, a rewatch is possible
The cons:
-hate the fl's younger sisters. lol. such an empty minded green-eyed bitches
-the final bad guy (Situ) was a weak villain (and who the hell believe a guy taking someone as his little sister after just a game?)
-on my rewatch, I have a slight problem with Jin Er behaving childishly, only creating ruckus and end up having the General to solve them for her. However, during the second half of the story, I cant help but blame the General always acting alone and refuse to sit down and explain his plan, even though it is obvious that his wife will be involved no matter what. this leads Jin Er to act blindly and falls into wrong hands, I mean, trust should be a two way street right? The general shouldn't expect Jin Er to follow his words blindly when it is her and her families' sake at risk.
-the love story between Xiuyuan and Ruonan was not that well developed to me. and when compared to the smothering chemistry between Chu Xiuming and Jin Er, the difference became that much glaring
All in all, I enjoyed this even on the second watch. So I guess, there is that lol. Recommended if you are looking for something lighthearted and with 65% comedy. lol

Feel good drama
Accidentally started watching this because I was a fan of baijinting, and end up liking the FL as well. I think this was my first drama of hers and i like her acting. Not sure if it was her voice or was dubbed, but the voice suits her character. She played innocent but steadfast character well and it’s not coming across as annoying as some actress came to be when trying to be ‘innocent’. The character building was also done well in my opinion. From the spoilt village girl who was brought up in a monogamous family, to a lady who understood well how the palace politics work, and able to adapt to it well to support her husband, without sacrificing her values.Plot was very women empowerment centric, and love how the wives found support in each other. The ML though at first appears calculating owing to the fact that he was brought up as someone who was overlooked from child, matured to a capable leader under the pillar of his wife’s support. It was a feel good drama with a lot of conflicts, but not an earth shattering ones, just something they have to solve along the way. Lol. I love not having to think so much while watching dramas, sometimes too many a plot/crisis makes me feel like i’m doing homework instead of watching dramas for fun. Lol
Ost was not that hyped up, none that sticks to mind that is. But the costumes was quite nice and even though there were nine states to be kept track of, they were introduced well during the leads’ adventure. Villains are appropriate and served their purpose. Lol. I love how the second prince was brought down and sent to the border while the fourth prince received different fate just because he realised his fault earlier and atoned.
Might not rewatch this, but my first watch of this is fun and i was well entertained. Lol

Worth your time
Although waiting for months (not for a year if i were to start on S1 earlier while it just came out) to see the continuation because of the stupid rule is a pain in one’s bum, im still very much enjoyed the continuation. The part 2 is mostly mellow though compared to part 1, mainly because all the climax and flirting already happened in part 1 and it feels like there were only a few strands left to be tighten up (or maybe thats because i’ve been spoiled so much prior to watching? Lol)Yang Zi was fabulous in this as usual, but the story really was made more awesome by good acting from her male leads as well, mostly CX, jing and XL, not so much on FL though since his part is not that much compared to the other 3. Good job to these actors. Though it was such a bum to see how XY’s wedding was not so grand and lavish or how much cartoonish the fight scene that took Jing away for almost 1/3rd of the Jing’s presence in part 2. XL’s death scene was appropriately set up, worthy of his role.
All in all, it was clear to see how CX is only destined to be there beside XY as her gege/protector (though I was surprised to see they were able to make CX confess the truth to XY prior to her wedding) and it was only Jing who can put everything away and put XY first whatever comes. Xiang liu, even though he may love her as well, is not a man who can leave everything behind to be beside XY like Jing can, so the only virtuous way he can show his love to XY is by making it possible for someone who loves her as well to be with her to the end, and to protect her silently from the shadow. Feng Long is just there for the ride though. Lol. He’s just a convenient suitor when the other 3 guys were in a mess. Lol. Sorry feng long!
OST are chef kiss! Not sure about rewatching this though. Maybe later. Now, on to the next drama!

A pot of good and not so good things
Pros:
- The chemistry between ML and FL was good and fast established. I can get into their love story from even the earlier episodes
- I especially love how childish the mighty Crown Prince behaves in front of his wife lol.
- The battle scenes when the two lords tried to kill Li Ni was done rather well i think. The death of Li Ni’s comrades while trying to protect him was heartbreaking, even more heartbreaking than the death of Cui Lin’s tbh. Haha
Cons:
- funny how cui lin/liu chengfeng’s actor decided to act out his character. It was especially bad when he tried to emulate a villain after his almost fatal injury, the acting was so bad i almost get a secondhand embarrassment. It was so cringy, like he was trying so hard to be bad, only to appear as constipated.
- And because of that, I feel like the 3rd half of the series is especially hard to go thru since that’s the arc where Liu Chengfeng appears the most, trying to be the villain. Unfortunately, the second prince somehow carries out the villain role better than Liu Chengfeng ironically. Lol
- as much as I quite like the FL, I was quite done with her when she throws a tantrum on Li Ni after Li Ni arrived late to only just save her, and not her so called ‘xiongzhang’. The hell! That xiongzhang of hers had just basically slaughtered half of Li Ni’s brothers/comrades helloooo dont you think it was too laughable to expect Li Ni to return salt with honey? Be realistic please! So you can watch your people slight Li Ni, but you cannot accept Li Ni to do basically (half) the same?
- Tbh, the plot was a lil on the weak side, especially when the story progressed into the palace storyline. By the end when it showed that the prime minister was the final bad guy, it was glaringly obvious i was mentally throwing my hands into the air. Like, how come the emperor is that stupid? With that stupidity, he wont even make it to the throne in the first place tbh. On one end, it was completely stupid not to establish power over your own soldiers/having no troops at all under your command, especially if you dont even trust your own son. Secondly, when you heard your son’s beloved wife passed away suddenly, the first thing you think is he came to usurp the throne? Like, the hell?!! (And where exactly is Cui Yi, doesnt such big news such as taizifei’s death spread? Not to mention, when the imperial physician diagnosed the taizifei’s death in the first place, they should have reported it to the emperor first, and yet, no one told him until Gu Wanniang made a sob story a day after. Lolllll) Plus, the last battle scene was so pathetic, Li Ni only stormed the palace with about a dozen soldiers to settle the problem. Lol. Such an anti-climax! The battle during Li Ni’s two brothers’ mutiny was even better climax
- The emperor’s sudden change of heart towards Li Ni was sooo sudden, it was laughingly unbelievable. Like, can you even make an effort dear writers?
- I dont even know how Li Ni still has the idea of making Xuanzhe the next emperor and for him to retire back to Laolan’s Pass (like seriously, after being an emperor? Do you think thats even doable? Even if he abdicated, wont Xuanzhe worry he will take back the throne someday? Or Li Ni’s sons?) Ahh i guess, i took it too seriously lol. Maybe in an ideal world, theres no more drama as long as Xuanzhe took the throne. Hihi

So and so
Finished this maybe a week or two ago, let’s see how much i remember. LolThis was my second drama of Jeremy Xu and i just can’t help but thinking, “i’ve seen him playing a role like this before” and going thru his list of dramas, i found that he’s also in The Autumn Ballad and i think theres not much difference between his Liang Yi and his Ji Yuansu. I was a bit disappointed tbh. I also found that the character was not build very well, first they were like, ‘this taizi tianxia is someone who has nothing to do, just playing around all day, doesnt care to deal with court matters that much’. Then he was also ‘the feared and ruthless taizi tianxia’. But at the same time, he is ‘the apple of his emperor father’s eyes’. Whatever he did, he will get support from the emperor. I found that those character just doesnt fit together, not convincing enough, or probably a case of poor writing/character building.
As for the FL, lol, im not sure why, but i cant relate that Hua Liuli is Meng Zi Yi. Of course knowing MZY from The Untamed a few years ago, i probably forgot how her face looks like in between. Lol. As for the character Hua Liuli. For basically initial 1/3rd of the episodes, i was getting quite more and more annoyed with how they are trying to sell Hua Liuli as someone fragile and sickly. She redeemed the character for a while in the middle when she stepped up and became the badass martial artist after being kidnapped, but became boring again after that like whyyyyy!!!!
The plot, sad to say is all over the place and sometimes appears not convincing enough. Not gonna rewatch this for sure. In fact, it think i almost forgot whats the story was all about already.
All in all, it was fine for a first watch (heyyy at least i can power thru and finished all the episodes!) but yeah, thats it. Nothing to mention home about sorry

Annnddd Shaodian Youqin and Chaofeng Tianxia lives happily ever after! LoL
Ok. Done marathoning this in basically 3days with panda eyes and a building migraine from lack of sleep. LolPlot was catching with enough ‘cold hearted leads with shuai faces’ and comedy weaved throughout. I have problem sometimes deciding where to stop for the day and keep on clicking next episode, so guess the plot was catchy.
Nice to see CXX again after the complete tragedy that was Goodbye my princess. Lol. Still remember that tragic ending until now. Lol. Not sure if he used his own voice, but it sounds different than usual male lead’s voice. His acting sometimes seems off, but surprisingly all together came across as appealing to me. Dunno why. Lol. One thing for sure though, he’s still crying with all his heart (complete with the ugly crying face) lol but you cant blame the guy, you ask him to cry and he delivers! Lol.
This is my first drama of the FL and i was genuinely surprised by how much I like her acting. She doesnt come across as annoying (some FL does when acting as a carefree mischievous girl) and she cries beautifully. I was initially hoping for not typical plot where siblings backstabbing each other due to being pampered/ignored from childhood and thank god the drama made them such a close sisters. Qingkui’s actress do a good job in bringing forth such a soft spoken well mannered pampered character, but still not coming out as a helpless character waiting to be rescued.
2nd male lead also did a good job. Even though at first i was annoyed with him with all his scheming, he was able to mellow me down after few episodes when he starts falling for qingkui. I was laughing like crazy when he was berated by Qingkui’s father from get go. Hahaha
Of course the ending has left much to be desired. It would be nice to see the happy ever after with the 2 couples rather than only the bromance between SDYQ and CF only, though it makes the ending hilarious in a way.
Theres probably few plotholes here and there (or rather few nitpickings) -how the hell SDYQ is supposed to be all powerful being with high cultivation and almost always end up need to be rescued by FL or lost his memories time and time again! Lol, but i enjoyed watching this so much. Totally looking forward to more works by them in the future

Lighthearted family drama
Just finished this basically 2 mins ago and writing this at 4.20am. Lol.Well, this is for me such a lighthearted drama, no need to think so much and just go with the flow kind of thing. Haha. This is my first drama of the ML and FL and I was quite fascinated with their acting and chemistry. The ML is handsome, has the ML ceo vibe to him and his acting was quite natural. His cutesy acts doesnt look forced and when he is in stern mode, he exudes quite a believable ceo vibe. It doesnt quite hurt that i was a sucker for a sick/whump ML trope. Hahaha. FL quite reminded me of the FL in Whats Wrong With Secretary Kim (a korean drama) and I like how her character is trying to be strong. Even though it might come across as quite annoying to some sometimes, but i think it was believable that she acts that way, anyone would have to become used to stand on her own after years of not having someone to back u up and at the same time, having to raise a small human on your own. The relationship might came across as ‘toxic’ in the beginning to some, but i like how they wrote it to be such an understanding giveNtake 2 way relationship by the end.
The child actor for Quanquan is probably the star of the show, what with how much role his character plays in bringing the ML and FL together. He’s sooo cute! And quirky and smarty pants. Haha. I just cant quite get why a child would call his mother by her name though. Hahaha
It is quite weird how a sickly adopted son raised to such a high power figure in the drama, but im glad it’s not being made as another point for dramatic excuse. Haha. Xin Qi’s adopted sister was funny as well. Haha.
The osts are quite nice, I especially love the ending song. Though another 2 english songs were quite cringy in their lyrics (and having to read it every time in wetv while it plays is making the cringe doubled sometimes. Haha)
Actually, i came to watch this drama after seeing cuts from youtube of the ML whump scenes. And im glad i did!

Pleasantly surprised!
I am an avid watcher of military movies/dramas and also quite an aviation enthusiast, so when Yibo was rumoured to be starring in this movie, i was very looking forward to it. However, life has been quite busy and I forgot about it but suddenly this movie (and full version at that too!) pop up on my YT homepage!I was pleasantly surprised by it to be quite honest. While watching the trailer quite some time ago, most of the comments on youtube was how it was a chinese remake of topgun (having seen the trailer around TG Maverick release date). However, it was nice to see that they have gone quite a different route with this. I like how they pressed on no matter how brilliant a fighter pilot is on the frontline, there are actually much sacrifice and blood goes behind the scene to deliver the aircraft at its best.
What i like:
-Commander Zhang was such a leader. He nurtures and build all these heroes bit by bit.
-Yibo was in his element. His acting is mature and almost natural in his fighter pilot role
-there are many themes that are carried out brilliantly throughout the movie. Some of them are (of course!) patriotism, maturity comes after you are humbled by failure, wingmanship, and of course, sacrifice! Theres also a little bit of a love plotline, and i like that they are very softly integrated into the storyline. The FL and Yibo’s love story was professional at its best, between 2 busy officers who are on the path towards a greater goal, but found the understanding in the middle nevertheless.
- mygod, even though it was only about 1 and 1/2 hours in, the movie can already built up quite a story behind Commander Zhang, that when he sacrificed himself for the mission, i was bawling my eyes out in solidarity with the soldiers/engineers working under his command and with him.
-the final flight test was such a drama. I was gripping my duvet intermittently in anxiety trying to will them back home. Lol
-the recording at the end of the movie was so heartbreaking but the pilot’s voice sounded so calm honestly *criesabucket
-the scene where yibo and the team make a fly by/over show above Commander Zhang’s son’s game was chef kiss. Showed such a camaraderie between the team and their appreciation for their mentor’s sacrifice.
What i have problem with:
-the opening and closing fight scenes are so fast forwardy, making them seem quite unnatural and video game-like. My expectation honestly was at 30% that this will be a good movie seeing the first fight scene. Im glad that the subsequent story after that redeemed back my attention and expectation.
All in all, for such a short movie, it was quite gripping and intense. Highly recommended watch.
