I can count with one hand the number of dramas I've seen with this type of ending and mainly saw them because I didn't know how it would end BUT with this one I jumped knowing what to expect and dang did it break my heart. They had such a beautiful relationship. The ending for this story seems fitting(not the part where he died because that ugly swan accused him of being a traitor but the part where she dies to be with him). Things would have been so different if Sheng Chen had rebelled when his brother died, if the puppet young emperor had grown some balls but it is what it is. I think no one in this story had had a happy ending. Even Zi Xing, at the end of the day he died without having any heirs either.

Now I am going to watch Forever and Ever to heal my heart and the emotional scars this drama left me.
