After several days of crying tears, I decide to post something about my thoughts on Yu Meng Long & his death.
First of all I’m not his fan or fan of any celebrity & I don’t often watch c-dramas. I only first knew YML through a drama he acts with Zhang Yu Long & i thought he was cute, i didnt even know how old he was at that time.
When i hear of the news he died from accidental fall, i was shocked and sad and that was it, I didnt think of anything else.
But things turned 180 degrees wrong. Fans and media show shocking evidence speculating he was murdered & was already being abused since the start of his career. Then i digged further about his life & omg since then my eyes could not stop crying.
To me he is a saint. He would donate all his money to floods & orphaned young kids while living in a room that has nothing but cardboard boxes of cheap or used clothes, he dresses so ordinary if not worst than his assistant. He has nothing but he was content.
He entered entertainment just because he likes to sing and to act, that was all. He has no intention of being famous or live in luxury or involve in any scandal. He was pure.
But they, the bad people abused him because he was kind and innocent. He couldn’t speak, he couldn’t run, all he could do was suffered … suffered for 12 years.
And on that terrible date, they took his life.
Why? Why? Why? A pure kind soul like him was living in hell for 12 years and none of his fans
noticed? We could have saved him from those evil.
But now, it is not too late. He may have gone but we will seek justice for him.
We need to sign petition, promote his videos, boycott c-dramas, unfollow those stars who harm him, whatever we can for him.
I’m so happy to know that so many songs were written in memory of YML & many people around the world have petitioned to seek him justice. Keep going guys! We are not only doing this for YML but for the future of our kids, to have freedom to speak and live the life they want and not being controlled by the dark.

Guys i watched this drama like in 2021 but just writing a comment today. It is a masterpiece I absolutely love it, I've watched it like over 5 times in the last 4 years. If you love the redemption storyline and do not mind watching an very old drama in 1998, go and check out "Heroine of the Yangs", the male lead was a badass (antagonist) in S1 but he was redeemed and has a very happy ending with second female lead. It does takes him 14 years though. And he was fans and mine favorite character and still is for over 25 years. I'm hoping for a remake about his story but the chance is slim as the actor did so well in the role he performed.

He did not turn bad in RMP, not sure about SAB but i don't think so either. It just that the male leads does not understand him and think of him the wrong way, glad we all watched LIP so we understand who he really is.

I haven’t watched LLAG, I rarely watched c or k-dramas these days for many reasons, my fav drama times are 90s and 00s lol.
Having said that i just rewatched that drama i mentioned above and very interesting note the ML antagonist i talked abt has part of CX, XL and Jing characteristics :) and he has a love story that is similar to that of XY’s parents in some way. But this was filmed in 1998 so their story is way ahead of time. If you’re Vietnamese it’s called Moc Que Anh & its viet dubbed.

Yep it’s a very old drama but i grow up watching it and it the only one i liked in all the Yangs remakes and the 2ML in there resembles a lot with XL and is also fans fav back in the days

Wow I have been out of this thread for a year, and it amazes me how now people still debating as to who XY really loves. As for me at the end of S1(in 2023) I was leaning towards XL, but after reading the novel it is to me XY 100% loves XY and S2 has confirmed my result in more detail. Until now XL still remain my most fav fictional character.
PS: Just wanted to share if anyone over 30+ years and have watched Heroine of the Yang 1998, before XL my fav heroic character was Ye Leut Hou Nam, I find XL and him similar in many ways though he was labelled as 'male lead antagonist/ villian' in S1 I never hate him but interestingly fall in love him esp in S2 where his role is reversed and has a HE:)

Totally agree with you. Look at how Hongye lived even when HuaiZhu is with him, he was not even talking to her. Poor guy was only starting to smile when he finds out she's pregnant. But his last hope to have a happy family completely gone when she died, and knowing that his son was not even born to have a normal life and love but born as a tool to kill demons is so heart wrenching. How can he love Fugui like a normal father loving his son? and vice versa. It so heart breaking for both father and son. I do hope too the director change their ending relationship (as compare to the anime) where Fugui learns of his dad's past finally understands him and Hongye can also have some sweet time as real father and son with Fugui before his passing.

I rewatched the fist 6 eps of this drama after watching LIP and because I miss Dr Zhao smile :)

Ep 16 ML injured him badly but did not kill him. He was killed by Tushan Black Fox in ep 18.

I did but only parts that relates to LIP, I couldn't watch this drama in full sorry the story bored me :(

For those who want to know what happen 20+ years later, part of this is shown in RMP.

- Ep 15 and 16 - WQHY's housekeeper Fei finally found DFYC (Qin Lan son) and want to bring him to Wangquan residence but he refused , he explained to TSHH the reasons behind it which we watchers all know that was partly incorrect.  DFYC (through his mother DFQL) blamed WQHY's for his aunt DFHZ's death. However he did take revenge on JRF but did not kill him but only make him a beggar like he was before. Gosh, what a gentle ending for him from DFYC. Though it is revealed that in later episode 18 that ShiJi (main villian - Tushing fox) killed him. 

- Ep 30 - DFYC overtook WQHY and succeeded as the new leader of Yiqi alliance. Both uncle and nephew in law did not build relationship , but it seems that WQHY is satisfied with passing on the title to his nephew in law :). And we did not get to see Fugui, he left home at the time. (I may have missed but has TSYY ever explained to DFYC about WQHY & DFHZ because he seem to still misunderstood WQHY)

- Ep 36 - Last episode. DFYC sacrifice himself (his hair turned white) in the battle with Black Fox  (the eternal night) with the help of TSHH. I think they only managed to lock her (similar to what HY did) but not completely kill her.  However in another timeline he and TSHH has a HE.

Hopefully in S3 (S&B) everything we missed in both S1 (RMP) and S2 (LIP) will be explained and a happy closure is given to our LIP male lead and end this tragedy.

Although LIP left me too much tears and empty hole but I did not regret watching it since day 1 it was released as I was waiting for it and it has not disappoint me in anyway. I wrote a review for LIP, hope you guys enjoy it. I’d never thought this drama would be so meaningful for me to write one :)

LIP give me too much tears, I'm waiting for S&B because I love ChengYi but I hope the plot is not as sad as LIP (at least not in terms of living in suffering). I hope Fugui will finally understand his father despite he trained him harsh, it all happened for a reason.

this part when HZ said this line literally broke my heart. I feel so sad for HY's life

I try not to comment but had to because last 5 episodes breaks my heart:

Summary Ep 32- 36: As expected everyone in mask team dies except HY and 4th brother who disabled. HZ & QL lost their dad due to JRF. After the event, HY lost his swordsoul & HX drained her energy. QL was sent away by HZ, who later married her rescuer so sadly we do not get to see 4th brother confess his feelings to QL. HY & HZ got married but both hearts were broken from their family loss & tradegy. HZ got her revenge on JRF but ends up with internal injury which she will eventually die so for this reason, HZ decides to gave a baby with HY so that the baby will become a “warrior”. HY is alive to raise their son but his living is worst then death. HY is most tragic character 😭🤣💔 so please dont hate him for raising FG the way he is in s3, it was HZ idea.

From leads to supporting characters the actors nailed their role although the last few episodes the performance of both leads took my tears and heart away. I feel the pain for the leads, they carry so much burden, guilt and loss especially the part where HY came to rescue HZ from JRF, it was supposed to be happy reunion but turns out more like a funeral, they both looked at each other in tears without words. Another part which took my tears where HZ talked with TSYY about how she wanted a simple life with HY but sadly she will be leaving him (knowing her death) and he is all alone in the world living in suffering. He the swordman was her admirer but now that man is gone forever.

I like drama like this even its SE, the love story is realistic. For the supporting casts each of their story is short but it does not bore you. Each has their own unique plots. As for the leads, they are just two top humans of their sect who falls in love with each other at first sight, wants to change the demon human world to be better, had their sweetest romance as a couple, fully trusts and respects each other, they just want to be a normal couple however the world is so nasty to them especially to HY, who at the end suffers the most pain. Big applause for ZYL & LSS heart breaking performances in their role last few episodes. 😭 Hope ZYL will have more roles in this type of drama, he definitely suits the character look so handsome even when he is torn 🤣. LIP is a tragic masterpiece

In anime version 4th brother survive but was on wheelchair. Not sure if this will change in the S&B drama version

According to donghua, everyone dies except ML and the 4th brother. FL die after giving birth to a son (who's ML in the upcoming Sword & Beloved)

I totally agree with you. The 2 leads in this drama portray a more mature roles and both are head of their sect so they have a lot of responsibility especially the ML. I'm also kinda old so I like this type of 'mature' love over the young lovy dovy drama. Everyone in the masks group trusts and love each other, there is no third party in the love relationship, no misunderstanding between all the cp & all cps love also have passed the dating stage, all mature love :)
