This show is a perfect example of a show that consistently delivers until the last episode. I dropped the show on the first episode and I picked it up, just now.... 10 months later! Only because of Jaewook.

but damn. Best decision I have made. WHY DID I DROP THIS. This is literally on to of the best shows... visually and story-wise.

as someone who watched the anime ages ago, as a kid... I liked the movie. It wasn't bad from the perspective of someone who remembers very little about the anime.
Fullmetal was my first anime, so I have a dear place for it in my heart. The cinematography was beautiful and the CGI was not bad AT ALL.
The story in the movie was a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle slow. Other than that I enjoyed it. The actors did a wonderful job.

Wait how can this drama relate to Twenty movie?
Same director/writer (Lee Byunghun) wrote it. This is intended to be a female version. Both are coming of age movies: "Twenty" is about that the struggles and emotions of turning 20 and everything that is changing with that. And "Be melodramatic" is about turning 30. Ãlso Lee ByunHun (i might be delulu right now for overanalyzing this) recicled some names from "Twenty": the male leads names on "Twenty" are JinJoo's (JinJoo is the female lead of "Be Melodramatic") drama male leads names. And the girls from "Be Melodramatic" (Jinjoo and Somin) are the names of the girlfriends in "Twenty". Moreover, the one that played Somin in "Twenty" (her real name is also Somin) confronted Somin of "Be Melodramatic" so I thought that was pretty funny.

This show was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. I didnt even watched chinese shows and then.... i fell into the pit that was Ahses of Love and i'm still recovering months after watching it.

I love Run Yu, but at a point, he just turned pure evil and abusive. He ran out of excuses to justify his behavior.

It has been a month and I havnet been able to watch anything else. NOTHING is as good as Ashes of Love. I NEED RECOMMENDATIONS. I need some tragic super dramatic love and enticing story like this one! That has a male character as intense and sweet as Xufeng.

I started Eternal Love (and i'm 3 episodes in and i'm bored. when doesit get better?) also started I Will Never Let You Go, i'm not exactly bored but it is too... light hearted and comedy for me... I don't see where this story is going. But the male lead is good to the eyes. Will it get better?

is this really worth watching, would yall recommend it especially for those who are not fond of dramas like this?
Well I almost missed this masterpiece. I had no interest in chinese dramas, and mostly chinese fantasy dramas. I knew how bad chinese were with cgi, and i thought they always had cringey actors and storylines.
After watching this drama, I have been for a whole month not able to watch anything else. I am furiously trying to find another drama that will feed my longing for Ashes of Love. I have been starting a lot of chinese dramas, nearly leaving kdramas hahhaha im kidding i wont leave kdramas, but these days i dont feel like it, because i need more fantasy chinese dramas.
Ashes of Love was THAT good.

10/10 !
This drama is really a women empowerment drama. We had here portrayed all types of girls and all prejudices that society imposes on them.
The tomboy - and how society says she is not pretty for not dressing "like a girl"
The overweight girl - how people say they are not pretty because they are fat
The date a lot girl - how society disregards a girl's choices and say that if it was a guy it was ok
The girl with plastic surgeries - how society call her ugly before and call her fake after. Does not respect each other's choices.
Even the kind of girl who does not dress up a lot and is just fine by dressing however she feels like, society is always saying things like "if you dressed up a little you would be pretty"...

What's beautiful is that we had girls protecting each other from these attacks and trying to educate peers about it.
It was a beautiful drama with a lot to teach. It literally depicts all the "small" sexual abuse girls go through.

Thank you for reading! Yes, it will be interesting to see what this drama has in store for its characters going…
I love Soji character despite all tantrums. She is so needy of love and attention and is obsessed with the boys. She wants their little game to go on forever, and desperately show everyone in the world she is loved.

She will be a huge wreck by the end of the drama. Her character is the one with the most impact.
