I’m watching ep 13 rn. Yang Xu is South Prince’s servant’s name. They literally just happened to mention it. 👍

They are two different actors/characters. But I think both will figure out the secret of the Jade Pendant. The Prime Ministers servant first though cause he was suspicious enough to know something is suspicious in that the FL/ML always escape the skilled assassins many attempts so he is calling in for the taoist master to analyze if there is something supernatural going on.

He definitely has an agenda because he has been giving suspicious advice the entire drama.. The only reason why I don’t think he is working for the uncle/prime minister and might be coming up with these plans and nudges so the second prince can win the emperor’s favor over the first prince (even if that comes as a result of the first prince dying) is when he looked exasperated and said it’s really tough working for the second prince.

I’m also enjoying this drama more than I thought. You have to get past some of the distracting OTT silliness in the first couple of episodes then the dramas tone starts to really settle in. 👍👍👍 Also really enjoying the leads adorable chemistry together. There are some especially sweet exchanges between the two. 🥰

If Wang Xing Yue wasn’t already a triple-threat in insane talent, rare magnetic charisma, and dramatic good looks… I might feel insecure if I were him- because all the other actors came to this drama with gloves off and are dropping amazing performances! BTW…. much appreciation for the extra hard work the bare-chested actors had to put in. Bravo!!! 👏👏👏Whoop Whoop!!! 🙌🙌🙌

The synopsis made this a little confusing TBH. From my understanding after watching four episodes…see synopsis below. (Which I will change/delete if wrong)

Hidden Gem of a drama! Definitely worth watching. ML is outstanding as always. ❤️❤️❤️ him as an actor. Bonus… he has two shower scenes so far🔥🔥🔥. FL is great as well.

Just want to make a quick comment on production visuals. I love the sets, the intricate details put in place with CGI. The costumes are excellent and look/fit great on the actors . Also love the way the costumes flow and move while the actors are walking/moving. (Miles looks sooooooo much 🔥🔥🔥 here than in Lady Revenger and I especially appreciate the deeper v-neck costume on Shi Kuan - Yay Us!!!) Hair and makeup is superb with some especially fun eye make up used.

Couple times I remember end of ep 2/ beginning ep 3. Also briefly ep 11.

Might be in the minority on this board. But I’m really enjoying the plot and storyline of this drama.

I haven’t been this excited for something to be released since The Last Jedi in 2017. And well… that didn’t work out so well. 🫠
