The director is a HK old school director… but some people like it because it gives a nostalgic old school cinema…
I’m on episode 7. Im now pretty sure he did those things on purpose in eps 1/2 to create chaos to throw the audience off guessing the plot. BC it’s settled completely down after ep 3. But thank you for the director’s background, that def helps me with perspective.

On ep 4 of Phoenix 🐦🔥… I was going to stop after ep 1 bc I was jolted by the director's vibe (not in a good way). Glad I kept going. Im loving the plot, cast and especially the screen presence of the leads- both on their own and together. I think this is the first time that I am saying this... but the director is the weak link of the production. So if you can accept some frustration of watching a director that reminds me of a teenage cinema student... carry on! This drama is a blast!!!

BTW anyone else kinda anoyed that they hired a judge who doesnt even watch verticals? Is it bc they want a totally fresh perspective??? Hes got a great charismatic presence- but I appreciate the input from the other 2 vertical familiar judges and their perspective much better!

So I decided to try out this variety show, bc I wanted to find out who the next big actor's would be if I tried some Kdrama Verts... Ummmm... wait... you mean its about director's !!! Yeah Im not detail oriented- I could have inferred the title/synopsis better.., Oh well... 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ Ill give it a try anyways.... annnnd an hour+ later. TOTALLY GOT SUCKED IN!!!
