Watched up to ep 30 and feeling sad it will end this week. Been following since it was announced and started watching as soon as it came out as i knew it was right up my alley as i quite like mystery/detective historical dramas having enjoyed miss truth, ancient detective and miss holmes already. Hope China makes more of these types of dramas! P.S. from all the above recommend similar shows the only one i hadn’t watched was Dr Qin medical examiner since it was modern but i’m giving it a go now.

I really wanted to like this and i think gala zhang is underrated but the middle of this series was like so draggy. I can’t remember exactly but i think 16-26 i can skip and then come back just for the ending. But i did finish watching at least.

Ok thanks for the info! Yes i’m going to read the novel now as i saw some comments saying the ending there was better perhaps. Or it might explain some things at least.

I liked the ending without the bonus scene as the bonus scene wasn’t logical. I think wkz lived but he should have no martial arts left so i don’t understand the fighting in the scene.
I really enjoyed the rest of the drama but i could only give it 9.5 as i skipped most of the parts where zhao jing spoke as it was a bit boring. The baddies didn’t really make me hate them so much except maybe jin wang.

I’ve never followed her because i have my own opinions and don’t rely on other people’s reviews. In general i like her videos on chinese culture like the guqin and her drama updates but i stay away from her reviews because she rants too much. I know some people like listening to rants and find it funny but i don’t like the negativity that’s all.

I’ve finished the novel. Not quite what i expected as it was less jianghu and more court political story. Very nirvana in fire vibe and a little melancholy. But i understand some scenes better now.

Actually most historical dramas have overdubbing so you are not hearing the actor’s real voices. Not sure if this one is overdubbed but the untamed was however the actors did sing the main song.

Yes he is a popular singer in china. He and zhou shen (another singer) have almost cornered the market for singing osts. Oh and ayunga. At least in the dramas i like and watch =)
