I can only say somehing about the girlfriend part of your text. I don't understand much Thai, but from what I've understand this was a translation problem. Thai has more words for a relationship than English has. And here they used the word "faen" and that word is gender neutral. Unfortunately the translator used the word girlfriend instead of boyfriend. Thai words don't always have a perfect match in English. They could've also went with the more neutral word "partner", but I can't judge if that would have matched the context of the dialogue or not.

I better go back to the KinnPorsche comment section. It is more exciting than this. 😂
